After 2 complaints about defective air bag sensors "that got me nowhere", I guess you can forget about it because I put a piece of tape over the airbag light. They put the junk sensors in all the 2005 vans and some 2006 but for some reason not all were recalled. . I don't understand why this hasn't been resolved. . I'll be damned if I'm paying 300-400 bucks for something that other people are getting repaired for free. . Thanks for nothing. . .

I left my house & a mile at the most down the road. I heard a noise & felt the rear end slide to the right. I tried turning the wheel to straighten the van nothing happened. The steering wheel went side to side, but the wheels didn't turn. I wondered why the van had slide to the side. That is when I realized there was no steering b/c the direction didn't change & it was like the steering wheel was just there. I was coherent the entire time, I noticed at that time I was headed for the embankment across the other lane of traffic. (it is a two lane road. ) I already knew there was no steering, so I grabbed the wheel with both hands, planted my feet to the floor board! I then asked god to forgive me. The van hit the embankment head on ,flipped, vans top scrapped all the way down just on the edges where the frame is. Then it landed on the pass. Side & slid backwards into the embankment ( on the side of the road I was originally going down. ) on the other side of the road. I tried to get out b/c I thought I saw smoke. It was the airbags, they had exploded. My shins looked like I got beat with a baseball bat, the seat belt got stuck, &the doors locked. I lifted the driver door up over my head. (van was on pass. Side). A man helped me get out & van was pulled onto all 4 tires. I had back surgery on 4-23-14. I went & had xrays taken. I filled an investigation w/Chrysler cair#26142460 ,jim 843-430-1266 took pics. Of van, asks qts & sent to Chrysler. Trish w/cust. Claim resolution grp 248-512-2934 sent letter b/c van @ salvage 803-324-7510,980-8900 & tampered w/ no invest. Could be done. They have to go to the scene of wreck (standard procedure) & didn't. I contacted trish & numerous others @chyrsler 800-247-9753 reason?. 1. )4 blown tires removed 2. )fuses were gone. It was totaled! I faxed in pic. S from the scene & letter. Please help me! trish called said the case is not reopened.
Vehicle was running while parked. Smoke started coming from the steering column and air vents with a burning electrical smell. Got out of car to check under hood and airbag deployed. Turned the key off and found a fuse in the fuse box had melted. Car would then start, but die within seconds. The power door locks and radio would would not work, but the power windows would.
My airbag has came on and will not go out . The place where I bought the vehicle, refuses to help and Chrysler will not help. . My van leaks transmission oil. It gets stuck in a gear. I bought a lemon.
My air bag and abs lights stays on and my door locks and rear tail lights stop working I have to get fuses and lights regularly.
Got recall notice from Chrysler l01 telling me there is an issue with my occupant restraint controller. Chrysler tells me that it could cause my air bags to deploy at the wrong time. Called dealer and he tells me that there are no parts now to repair the issue. I have to bring auto to dealer and have them disassemble and scan the part to get the correct part number of the controller, then they will order the part. Since there are currently no parts avail, the wait is expected to be up to two months or more. So in the mean time I am driving a vehicle known to have a demonstrated premature air bag deployment. Are you aware of this issue?.
The red light on the dash panel comes on while the engine is on. This happens whether the vehicle is in motion or stationery. If frequently goes out after a few minutes. There has been no frontal impact with this vehicle. Approximate mileage when it began was 85000; present mileage is 91000. Dealer did not diagnose any problem. Problem occurs almost every time the vehicle is driven but does not last more than a few miles.
I had to have the clock spring replaced on my 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van. This same part was the subject of a recall in 1999-2002. It seems they still don't have it right. I was told by the dealer that Chrysler did not cover the repair. It controls the airbag! can you help? [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. Air bag deployment light stays on without provocation.
On March 16, 2008 I was hit head on in my minivan by someone driving an SUV that was traveling aprox. 55 mph on a 2 lane hwy. I believe that upon impact all of the airbags in my minivan deployed including the knee air bag that is located under the steering column in my 2005 Chrysler town and country Mini van. My lower legs have suffered (what is most likely) permanent pain/damage from the crushing impact of the plastic part of the dash and the knee airbag. I have nerve damage to the front of my lower legs and my ankle area. I am still treating with medication and still suffering pain on a daily basis. I have been to mayo clinic and still cannot find any "fix" to the damage that was caused by the air bag. I have had surgery on both legs and still no relief. Please help, I think the knee airbags are dangerous and the mfg. Does not even mention the airbags existence in the owners manual.
Having purchased a new Chrysler, Town & Country minivan, in less than 3 years of ownership, I've had to make numerous repairs that I've never had to make on previously owned vehicles in the same lifespan of a vehicle. The quality of this van has been extremely disappointing.
November cold morning van back brake driver side locked up moved van back and forward wheel freed up. December on cold morning back brake locked up. Again moved van back and forward wheel freed up. Upon merging back onto the highway consumer over corrected the steering wheel. To rectify this problem the consumer depressed the brake pedal and turned into the skid. The brakes locked up and the truck crashed into a mountain head on, then rolled over twice. None of the trucks air bags deployed upon impact. The truck sustained severe frontal damage and the windows busted out, except for the front windshield, and the driver and passenger side window. The driver didn't sustain any injuries. The cause of the brakes locking up and the non deployment of the air bag has yet to be determined.
