Two problems related to air bag on-off switch have been reported for the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler town and country. While driving at an unknown speed, the abs, and the air bag warning lights illuminated and all of the controls near the steering wheel failed to work. The contact diagnosed that the speed control switch and the cruise control failed. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for diagnosis or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 146,000. The VIN was not available.
The air bag warning light comes on and stays on for a few minutes, to over an hour, every few days or so, and, due to faulty air bad sensors being an NHTSA issue with 06 Chryslers this is cause for great concern for me and my family; for the 1 1/2 years I have owned this Town & Country I have continual problems with exterior and interior lights, blinking on and off, headlights and/or parking lights staying on after I've turned the lights off and then turn the car off. I continue replacing relay switches and parts. On, the parking lights are staying on after I've turned everything off, and; while driving off normally the transaxle whistles, screeches and bogs down when changing gears, even though transaxle fluid is changed regularly and filter is clean.
