1 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2015

The symptoms on my minivan are identical to those found in the following recall, but because mine is registered in CO, it is assumed by Chrysler that this minivan has never traveled extensively in the covered states or that conditions in CO couldn't possibly be similar. I'm disgusted with the impotence of NHTSA concerning citizen representation and the suspiciously convenient, money saving partial recall on these air bag sensors. I discovered my sensor failure while transporting my family back from a trip to estes park, CO during a heavy, wet snow storm. (go figure!) the warning light came on intermittently for a several months, but eventually stayed on continuously. Report receipt date: Jan 11, 2010 NHTSA campaign number: 10v008000 component(s): air bags.

3 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 03/24/2015

Recall number: 10v008000recall date: 01/11/2010 component: air bags:frontal:sensor/control module problem summary: Chrysler is conducting a safety improvement campaign involving model year 2005-2006 Dodge caravan, grand caravan and Chrysler Town & Country vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of connecticut, delaware, iowa, illinois, indiana, kansas, kentucky, massachusetts, maine, maryland, michigan, minnesota, missouri, nebraska, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, north dakota, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, south dakota, tennessee, utah, vermont, virginia, west virginia, wisconsin, alaska and the district of columbia. The front crash sensors may crack under certain environmental conditions and allow water to enter into the sensor. This can cause the sensor to become inoperative and illuminate the airbag warning light. These sensors were added to enhance the performance of the airbag system in certain frontal crashes. Consequence: if the front crash sensors become inoperative, the driver is immediately alerted by illumination of the airbag warning light and the vehicle should be promptly serviced. Until the vehicle is repaired, the airbags may not provide the enhanced protection in the event of a crash. What owners should Chrysler will replace the front airbag sensors with a new design. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety improvement campaign will begin during June 2010. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403. I have this issue and chystler is refusing to fix it for free.

8 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2014

I was drive on I-94 when my air bag warning light came on. I found there is a recall for the front air bag sensor on 2005 & 2006 Chrysler Mini vans NHTSA action number: rq09003. Chrysler's customers satisfaction notification j38. I called my dealer and Chrysler and have been told there are no recalls on my vehicle. The recall was for mostly northern states. I currently live in michigan but the van is originally from florida. Chrysler said this may be the reason it doesn't show recall. But said there was no way to get the recall added. How do I get Chrysler to repair this very serious safety issue.

9 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2012

I have a 2006 town and country limited minivan with 49,000 miles on it. The airbag warning light on dash board comes on intermittently. It started at 48,000 miles. There is no pattern to it. I called Chrysler to check on recall after reading the plethora of complaints on the internet of this same problem. Chrysler said my car is not part of recall and will not assume responsibility for problem thus they will not repair it. I am praying for a class-action suite against the company to force them to take care of this issue. It sounds like every 2005-2006 t&c has this manufacturers defect.

11 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2010

The airbag warning light in my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country touring van is constantly illuminated. It first became illuminated while driving in a heavy rainstorm earlier this year and it would then go off and on intermittently during operation. The airbag light now stays on continually whenever I run the vehicle. I believe this issue to clearly be due to the circumstances contained within Chrysler's "safety improvement campaign j38" and the NHTSA campaign id #10v008000/NHTSA action #rq09003. My vehicle was also built within the time frame described within this campaign. When I contacted Chrysler, they informed me that my vehicle was not a part of this campaign with no further explanation. I do not see how this can be and I do not feel that I should have to pay to correct this safety issue where Chrysler clearly admits that it has a problem with its front airbag sensors on the make and model for this 2006 year. Any assistance that you can provide in a remedy to this situation would be appreciated. Thank you.
