15 problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Checking recalls and found NHTSA campaign number: 10v008000 involving airbag sensors. Virginia and tennesse and other northern states were listed but not north carolina. Why was that?. If this is a cold climate issue, my vehicle spends time in the mountains of nc which has a climate like northern states. Should I be worried about my air bags functioning when needed if the same make, model, and year in many other states required a recall and repair?.
I found out recently that Chrysler had a recall on air bag sensors on the 2006 Chrysler town and country. The defect could cause the air to malfunction in an accident. I was never notified of this recall. I contacted Chrysler about it and they said since I am the second owner of the vehicle, I was not contacted. They only contact the first owners.

The contact owns 2006 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that air bags frontal sensor/control module (10v008000) was related to her vehicle. The recall affects vehicles in cold climate states and at the time the contact lived in arizona. The contact recently relocated to indiana and would like the recall repaired on her vehicle. The manufacturer informed the contact that the remedy could not be performed because the VIN was not a part of the recall. The contact stated that the air bag could deployed due to the cold weather in the state and fears that it could cause an injury. The contact wanted the manufacturer to perform the remedy repair under the recall before the defect occurred while driving. The failure mileage was 80,000.

The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealership to have defective parts replaced and the dealer informed the contact that a recall was open on the vehicle: recall 10v008000 (air bags: frontal: sensor/control module). 2006 Chrysler town and country van. Consumer seeks reimbursement for airbag repairs the consumer stated the air bag light illuminated. He took the vehicle to a local repair shop and was informed the air bag sensor was faulty.
I hit a power pole and a ditch at 55mph. The car went airborn, hit the pole, spun around and landed on the passenger side. No airbags deployed. I filed a complaint with Chrysler and they said that I did not decelerate fast enough for the airbags to go off. I was injured slightly but my seat belt was on. The key was jammed in the ignition and twisted and the car was shut down. The impact was that hard. I find it hard to believe that the airbags would not go off. The state trooper, insurance company and the man who owns the garage where the vehicle was towed all said in their professional opinion the airbags should have gone off. I don't know where to turn at this point. It is my understanding from what I saw on the news that the airbag sensors may be being recalled in the near future. However, I don't feel like they addressed this issue at all. I was alone in the vehicle and I was on my home from work after a 12 1/2 hour shift. I did fall asleep and was less than one mile from my home.

The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that the front air bag warning lamp illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. Vehicles air bag comes on every time you drive down the road, and stays on. I do also know there was a recall on the 2005 minivans for their front sensors. I do not believe I should have to pay for this repair, seeing as their was a previous recall on the 2005 vans, and my van is currently under the 36,000 miles.

I was in a car accident on 9-16-06, which was caused by another driver running a stop sign and smashing the front, driver side of my 2006 Chrysler Town & Country. The estimated damage thus far is over $8,000. The car is still at the shop being repaired. None of the air bags deployed. I have since learned, by reading this website, that the front air bags used in this vehicle are currently being investigated by the NHTSA. Chrysler corp. Advised me that it would investigate the air bags in my car (purchased one week prior to accident), but I have not heard anything yet, despite submitting a complaint on line, writing a letter and placing telephone calls. The dealer, Chrysler paramus, of new jersey, has also been uncooperative in this regard. I was advised today by the mechanic that the car repairs should be complete in another week or so. However, that only refers to the damage from the collision. The car will still have defective airbags and that is of grave concern to me.
After starting my car, the light indicating the passenger air bag was turned off stayed on for the entire trip. An hour later I stopped, turned my car back on and the light turned off.
Passenger airbag disabled light is constantly on. I purchased the vehicle on 1/28/06. I took the car to carmax on 1/31/06 to have it repaired. Carmax is still unable to cure the problem as of 2/8/06. The ordered a new seat belt retractor and that did not work. They tried to replace the seat with a seat from another vehicle and that did not work.
