The engine stalls/shuts down while driving. This has occurred about 12 times in the past 4 months, and is becoming more frequent. Shortly after starting the car when driving the engine turns off and power steering is lost and braking becomes difficult. It is somewhat random but more prominent on cooler and humid days. The recall for the bad ignition key fob switch was completed 5 years ago and should not be the issue.

Yesterday while driving in town my engine stalled, and the horn started blaring. Not honking or alarm sound, but solid blaring. My wipers turned on high, and the windshield wash started spraying all over. Front and rear wash and wipers. My reverse lights were on, even though the vehicle was in park. Also, the fan inside the van for the heater/ac isn't working. This spell lasted 3-5 minutes. Afterward, I was able to restart the van and continue on my way. Today, the same thing happened, shortly after starting the vehicle. 2 of the 3 times happened while I was driving on the street, approx 25-30 mph.

Coasting or in a decelercation situation the cars stalls without warning, radio still on, the only notice that the engine has stalled is loss of power steering, the only light that comes on is the traction control light. This has happened over 20 times. Have taken to the dealer no less than 6 times but no codes set and unable to diagnose the problem.

Vehicle was started after being parked for a couple of hours and driven abour three blocks and the engine stalled. This has happened 5 times the latest this morning 1/2 block after a cold start. No warning lights on first 4 stalls and this morning the antiskid light came on. Engine (4. 0) revs to appx 3000 rpm when started after stalling once the vehicle is restarted the engine does not stall for weeks. Engine restarts immediately.

At low driving speed the engine did not maintain idle and stalled. Due to the engine stall, the brakes, and power steering were disabled and the car continued in motion moving forward at approximately 8 to 10 mph. Driver was able to maneuver to the shoulder of the road and coast to a stop with only the very limited steering and breaking power remaining. Once at a full stop the car was able to restart once the shift lever was placed in the park position. Since this initial incident, the same stall problem has reoccurred about twenty times in total for two different drivers. Each time the car has been in motion at low speed and usually with the driver backing off the accelerator with the driver's foot moving off the gas pedal and onto the brake pedal. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer more than once and it was stated by the service manager that the issue could not be duplicated when test driven. Also it was stated that no fault was recorded by the standard computerized test of the car.
