I own a 2010 Chrysler town and country and for 3 months we have been living a nightmare. It powers down while we are driivng it, we lose steering and breaks. It has happened in the middle of intersections, with cars behind us, on hills and coasted backwards and with my children in the van with me. It has spent 3 months in and out of several garages. It has had numerous parts replaced, such as the battery, abs module, and the pcm. Even after all these parts were replaced and we have spent quite a bit of money to have them fixed it still doens't run properly and shuts down while you are driving it. It is such a safety concern that we won't allow are children to ride in it. So I own $10,000 on a van that I cant take out of my driveway because it isn't safe to be on the road. I have contacted Chrysler with my VIN number and they say there are no complaints about this vehicle currently and no recalls that haven't been satisfied. So I have a loan payment and an unsafe vehicle with no resolution anywhere in sight.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle restarted and was able to be driven. The failure recurred several times. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the pcm system needed to be placed. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 69,405.
My Chrysler town and country 2010 van cuts off while I am driving it!!!! this has now happened 8 times! once while I was driving at 55mph!! another time I was pulling out onto the highway when my 2010 town and country van died! cars in two lanes were blaring their horns and had to swerve off the road to keep from hitting me! I took it to the Chrysler dealer where it stayed for 13 days. They could not figure out the problem but replaced the computer(pcm). Less than 48 hours later it had happened 2 more times! I returned it to the dealership where it remains now. Chrysler has given me a case number and I am hoping for answers soon. They have refused to rent me a car thus far. I cannot seem to get Chrysler to understand (or care) how dangerous this is. I don't want to die just so my husband can sue them! help.
October 1, 2012 started with dead battery. After picking up "fixed" vehicle after two weeks and attempting to drive off lot, the van would not go out of park. After playing with it, it finally went into gear. Check engine light came on. Returned van - it would not go into park. Now December 13. Van still in repair. Have replaced tipm twice and pcm. $1,600. Chrysler says they have never heard of such a problem before.
While driving and coming to a slow down and then accelerating again, the transmission jolted. I thought I did something wrong, so let it go a few hours later, the transmission did it again, I contacted the dealer immediately. They said bring it in now so I did they could not duplicate a problem, I was sent on my way. As I leave the dealer it started again this time as I called the dealer I was told make an appointment, so I did, like a month later when they had an opening, they were able to once again look at the vehicles transmission then they said after 4 hours we were able to duplicate the problem and fixed the issue we had to perform a pcm-software update, and it is now working fine the way it should be. I once again gained the same problem and had to bring it back 3 more times for them to only say we can not duplicate the problem, I till today have the same problem they refuse to fix it or ever say their is a problem. However they did admit there was a problem. My warranty is set to expire and they still tell me no problem exists, I wonder what they will tell me as soon as the warranty expires, most likely hay we found a problem and it will cost a rebuild.
