1 Transmission Sensor problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2020

2010 Chrysler town and country will click once, but will not turn over. This issue typically happens when the vehicle has been running for a while, and the engine is hot, or during hotter months. This causes car to not turn on when hot, not over heated, just hot. This has been noted on many other websites for this same year and people believe it has something to do with the transmission sensor not knowing if the car is in park or drive. This has happened to other years causing vehicle to slip into other gears. This could be considered dangerous. This has been occurring on vehicle since three months after purchase from dealer with no check engine lights coming on or any running issues.

2 Transmission Sensor problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2016

The vehicle has intermittent problems with starting. . It will work fine and then you will be at the store etc and you turn the key and you hear a click but the motor will not turn over. You click the key back and forth and if you are lucky it will start after 10 to 20 times. Then you will go 2 or 3 weeks with no problems and then out of the blue you get into your car and bam it will click when you turn the key and not start. Sometimes it will not start for 10 or 15 minutes. Then all of a sudden it will start. This has been going on for 6-10 months. It is very scary to be stuck somewhere when this happens. I think the problem is the transmission range sensor. It is very expensive to fix and replace. Chrysler has a huge problem with this. Go on the blogs and that is all you hear about. Starting problem, starting problem, starting problem. This is a safety issue and needs to be addressed by Chrysler. Everyones safety and pocket bock is being affected because of the poor engineering in the shift lever to the transmission. This is sometimes called a neutral safety switch but on the town and country it is called a transmission range sensor.
