Grinding Noise Problems of Chrysler Town & Country

Chrysler 2008 town and country van has grinding noise from frount bearings. There is a recall k-19 for this problem for vans built from 12/07-02/08. My van built 01/08 but not included in recall, although it has the problem the recall is to repair. Chrysler will not explain why our van is not included in recall.

Driving through a parking lot and was waiting in a long line at a stop sign before heading out to the road when a horrible grinding, almost dragging sound occurred in the front of the vehicle. Sounded as if something was caught and was being dragged under the front of the vehicle. Drove 4 feet to move out of the traffic lane and the grinding did not stop. Pulled over, stopped, looked under car; nothing. Put vehicle in drive, grinding sound. Had vehicle towed to dealership. The right front cv axle had broken. Vehicle has 52,014 miles. Had young children in car was doing under 10 miles an hour.

The driver noticed a loud grinding noise while starting up the vehicle. Apparently the noise was coming from the steering wheel. The driver was able to drive to the dealer for inspection. The mechanic placed the vehicle on a diagnostic machine. The codes were displayed on the computer, then reset. The mechanic informed the driver that the problem was solved. The driver informed the mechanic that this problem has recurred more than once.

While driving up a hill he heard a grinding sound coming from front of vehicle. Dealer could not find a cause. 3 days later while driving down hill there was same grinding sound again.
