The contact stated while driving a various speeds, he smelled a strong burning odor inside the cabin of the vehicle. Additionally, the contact stated while the vehicle was parked, he noticed that there was fuel leaking on the rear driver's side wheel. The vehicle was taken the dealer mobility works where the modified vehicle was originally purchased. The dealer diagnosed that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 15v264000 (suspension). The dealer replaced the mounting bracket with a revised bracket that was welded to the vehicle chassis; however, the dealer declined to add the suspension strap was not added. As a result, the vehicle was no longer aligned. The contact stated that the vehicle sticker indicated that it had been modified by eldorado national- kansas. The vehicle was not repaired. The transmission hydraulic pump failed and caused complete failure of the trans at 105000 miles. The rocker arms failed at 97000 miles. The front lower aarm bushings failed at about 60000 miles. The rear slider doors don't lock and when the dealer tried to repair them they made it worse now the windows in those doors are failing. Also a code for thermostat housing popped up after the rocker arm repair. What a terrible vehicle. It's only 5 years old and I'm a stickler about maintenance.

Car shuts off while driving and at red lights front end struts are wore out transmission skips car rpms go up but want shift 9 codes.
Suspension rattles, shocks and struts rattle, having trouble starding engine on often, remote start fails with no indication of low battery, engine stalls before starting. Check engine light on, airbag light on.
Rear trailing arm broke loose from the chassis. 2 bolts sheared off on right side 2 were missing and left side two were missing and the other 2 were loose. The whole right side of the rear end was hanging down. This happened while in town at low speed fortunately as in a few minutes I would have been on the highway at 55 mpr. Grandkids were in the car. It was totally undriveable and I had to have it towed. Having read online there are several others that have had the same issue. I wonder how many major accidents or fatalities have occured on Chrysler or Dodge minivans because of this condition. This van has less than 40k miles.

Rear axle broke, while in motion, just turned onto hwy so was going pretty slow.
While driving in heavy traffic on expressway the rear axle assembly cracked in half causing uncontrolable unstable/swaying motion which in turn caused driving the vehicle over 15 mph impossible. I beleive that if I were driving at normal hwy speeds the vehicle would have flipped over or caused a major accident.

Strut mounts are very rusty, the Chrysler recommended repair could not be done, due to extensive rust around the strut tower. This is confirmed by many other owners of this year and generation of vehicle. The vehicle is is good shape except for this and the problem was caused by a manufacturing defect which allowed rusting in the strut towers. This problem started happening approximately when it was just 10 years old or less and got worse and worse over the years. I have not driven it for many years because it seems very unsafe.

Wanted to trade van in and they told me do to safety factors could not take in on a trade. Said that the rust on van under carriage was so bad that motor could fall out and it was not worth taking in on a trade do to this problem.
Front struts are noisy and mechanic says the rubber top plates are destroyed. They are only 4 years old and car only has 20,200 miles on it. I feel this is a part problem from the vendor since new, as newly purchased struts from monroe have a lifetime replacement warranty. With the mileage on the t&c being so low, and Chrysler's warranty not exceeding 3yrs/36,000miles this should not happen. The car sits in the shade because of tree cover, so heat should not be the issue. It is used as a local sedan would normally be used with very limited usage. The warranty service was pulled by Chrysler but they never detected this issue. I am a vietnam vet with hearing issues, however the front end noise has increased until I took it today to a mechanic. 1-2-18. Two struts have been quoted at $800.
Back up camera goes out. Have humming noise in front and rear. Replaced tires still have humming noise.

Rear axle brace that fastens rear wheel to body broke ,leaving wheel only fastened by spring and shock , flopping erratically. This has happened twice to us once at 20 mph and once at 40 mph . We both times brought the vehicle to a slow easy stop . . We shudder to think what would have happened, at any higher speeds. The Chrysler dealership we showed photos of the broken bar to after the first break expressed surprise ,"we have never seen this before " was their comment. The break was at the cut-out hole in the brace ,the hole is fairly large , big enough to stick all 5 fingers into. (we notice that after 2009 models, this fairly large cut-out hole was reduced to a quarter inch slit , on the models we checked. Chrysler wanted to replace the entire rear axle ,but we ended up taking it to a master welder who as a favor welded and sanded it to where you could not tell there was ever a break. . 6 months later in October 2015, it happened again breaking about 2 inches from the first episode break,on the same piece of metal . We were at about 40 mph ,the back wheel flopping ,almost throwing us off the road. This time we requested our welder friend to add plates to the brace ,photo of finished job enclosed , you can still see the original cut-out. . We figured we just ended up with a bad piece of metal on our van. But then in April 2016,my nephew ,who has a 2008 Chrysler built van (sold by vw) experienced exactly the same axle brace failure, while moving, at exactly the same spot in the brace,at the same type of cutout hole. He lives about 5 miles from us, I personally examined his van axle brace ,and we discovered the other side brace was almost broken through too . . He has a wife and 3 small children, this was very traumatic thing for the family. We concluded this must be a very common problem, and wonder if people are not dying across the country from this obvious axle brace defect.

Bolts were missing and loose on stablizer bar causing me to loose control of the car. Was lucky no damage just a scare, but could have been bad.
Was on a busy highway and the weld holding the stabilizer bracket to the axle separated about causing a very serious accident and causing the car to be un drivable and having to be towed. Car was in perfect condition before this happened.
The rear axle broke in two wile she where driving there as no preaveas damage to it it just shaped it is a clean brake.
The contact owns a 2015 Chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle began to pull towards the right independently. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where the four tire rims were replaced and an alignment was performed. The failure persisted after the repair. The dealer stated that the vehicle functioned as designed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 180.
I was driving with my children through a parking lot when our van started making a horrible sound. . . . When I pulled off to the side and got out I saw that the right rear tire wasn't where it should be and there was a medal part hanging down. We had the van towed to my mechanic, dave grandominico, contact #614-882-9965, who looked at our van the next day and said that there were only 2 bolts in the trailing arm and those two bolts snapped. He said that there should have been 4 but it he could see that there was never 4 (no markings or scratches where there was no bolts indicating they had never been added). Dave recommended that we take the van to a Chrysler dealership so they could document the manufacturing problem. Dave then installed 2 bolts in to the slots where there was none (so that we could drive it to chyrsler); he left the 2 snapped bolts in place. However, when we took the van to Chrysler, they told us (in so many words) that we couldn't prove that there was only 2 bolts (since dave had installed 2 new bolts), and therefore we would have to pay $400 - $500 for a repair and they were taking no responsibility for the matter outside of repairing it.
Car steers by itself and have a high humming sound when it take offs.
