1 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/16/2017

The fuel injection wiring harness length is apparently too long and it can drop down near the exhaust manifold where the heat will melt the insulation on the wires causing them to short together causing severe misfire and possible damage to the catalytic converter. The vehicle had run fine a couple of days previously and on starting the vehicle it seemed to idle a little rough. Driving on the road it ran very rough and was randomly misfiring on multiple cylinders. The mil light began to flash on and off on acceleration. On investigation the wires in the fuel injection wiring harness were found to be melted and shorting together. I suspect in the ensuing two days that the temperature changes exacerbated the problem and temperature change induced movement caused the wires to short together. From researching this problem it affects many vehicles. I'm surprised that a recall has not yet been issued for it.

2 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/29/2013

Whenever I fill in the gas my town and country will stall after driving a mile or so. Complained to dealer about this problem and they always suggested fuel injection service. On this date however my van completely stopped while driving soon after I filled my gas tank. Took to the dealer (it later started with check engine light on) and they changed the spark plugs with cable and did few more things. It still does the same. Soon after putting in gas it stalls/shuts off. Had to wait and start again. After that never gives any trouble until time to put in the gas.

3 Other Fuel System Fuel Injection System problem of the 1999 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 04/29/2013

When I started the car the engine was cold from sitting in the driveway all night. I smelled gasoline. I opened the hood to find gasoline shooting out of the fuel hose right where it fits into the pressed crimped metal connection. It was spraying gasoline all over the engine. I turned of the engine before it became hot. If this leak had occurred while driving, the motor would have been hot, and caught fire. The garage replaced the plenum gasket set, fuel injection, o ring, and the fuel rail. Note: the recall #rq00008 DC minivan fuel injector rail leak was done.
