39 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/13/2018

When driving on the highway at a constant speed and then accelerating the vehicle continues to accelerate even when the accelerator is released and the brake is depressed. After pressing the brake pedal several times the vehicle speed decreases. The acceleration continued from 10 to 20 seconds during these times. I have experienced this condition 5 or 6 times. The condition initially occurred in Aug 2015 and I took it to a dealer but no codes were found and they could not duplicate the problem. The condition occurred again in 2018 on a more frequent basis (4 or 5 times). I again took the vehicle to a dealer and they could not duplicate. I also took the the vehicle to an independent shop that specializes in electrical and drivability issues. They had the cars for 2 days and could not duplicate or find anything to indicate a problem. I have a case no. 27622793. When I heard of similar problems and recalls with other Chrysler vehicles in may 2018 I called Chrysler and was told that a final list of vehicles was not out yet and I would be notified if and when my vehicle was found to hav a problem.

41 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 02/11/2018

Tipm, I have had tons of problems with my van since I purchased. There is no telling how much I have spent of the years on repairs. Come to find out most of my repairs were not necessary. They all came from the faulty tipm. I can't believe this has not been recalled. The issue it causes is unbelievable. The stress and inconvenience this has caused me and my family is more than I could ever imagine. I'm out thousands of dollars on repair bills and now I find out that it will be another $1,300 to fix this. I have been having issues for years!!! when I would take it in they would treat the symptoms not the problem which I'm just finding out is the tipm. If this would have been properly diagnosed while under warranty than no big deal, but of course it was not. I have been driving and all of a sudden by brakes don't work, I turn on the van start to drive and it won't shift I have to pull over and turn off the van then restart it. Sometimes it wont start just sits there like it wants to start. The fuel pump is now constantly running. I'm sure that's not safe at all. The engine hours are twice what the mileage says it should be. Hum guess that's cause my engine is running all the time. That would be because the tipm is flawed.

42 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2015 Chrysler Town & Country

I haven't reached 50,000 miles yet but my fuel injector has gone bad. While driving my engine light came on then the car started to vibrate. I checked the manual and it didn't help. I've called several to the location closes to me and the location I brought it from. I have not received any information on the problem.

My vehicle powers off for no reason while driving. It's been doing this for over a year and I've spend hundreds of dollars trying to figure out what's wrong. Now it's dead every morning when we try to start it. Service center says it is the tipm and will cost 1200. 00 to replace.

47 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 05/16/2017

2014 Chrysler town and country - 70,000 miles electronics started malfunctioning while driving shutting off all inside cabin electronics including panel, radio, a/c and turning on windshield wipers. At first it did not malfunction every time but now it doesn't run 1 minute without malfunctioning. Sometimes my brake, head and signal lights will not work and the complete panel and gages will not go back up including gas, speed rpm etc. Until I shut down the car and wait a few minutes to turn it back on making it completely unsafe. I brought it to the local dealer and as expected, and mentioned by others online, they said they have never heard of anything like it. They stated that my car has 9 different computers and that they are reading malfunctions on all of them and decided to reset the module that controls all of the interior electronics. $100. 00+ nothing changed apart from the fact that it is now happening more frequently. I refuse to get into the path of spending thousands of dollars on this repair just on the guessing game of replacing part after part without positive results. Please help!.

49 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/18/2017

Y car accelerates too fast at certain times, like at intersections. It accelerates too quickly that my tires screech like I pressed the gas petal all the way down. This happens when I have the brake pressed and then put my foot on accelerator. This happens pretty much every day but not every time. Finally, I should mention that all my cars have been having problems since we moved and rented a house from my ex-landlord paul, who is a mechanic.

53 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2016 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/06/2016

Vehicle has had repeated issues with acceleration and shifting gears since purchase. Vehicle will not accelerate over 40 mph while driving and rpms redline. It has been in for repair for over 40 days since March 2016 and is currently at dealership. Most recently the vehicle lost all power, including ability to steer and brake properly, after being in reverse backing out of my driveway. During the last two incidents, no warning lights have illuminated, nor have there been any fault codes found in the vehicle¿s system. The van is extremely unsafe and unreliable, and is a danger to myself and three young children - as well as other vehicles on the road. I have requested arbitration under new york state's lemon law and I have attached a copy of paperwork recently submitted. The pdf describes, in greater detail, the ongoing issues with the vehicle, as well as Chrysler's repeated attempts to service it without success. Since vehicles are mass produced, I worry that other consumers are experiencing these same dangerous issues, with no remedy in sight. Thank you for looking into this matter.

56 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/11/2016

I have a 2011 Chrysler Town & Country van with adjustable pedals. Per the manual ¿the pedals cannot be adjusted when the vehicle is in reverse or when the electronic speed control system (escs) is on¿¿ implying some type of interaction between the two systems. From time to time the escs will not come on or will stop responding to inputs, including not disengaging the escs when the cancel button is pushed (though it will disengage by depressing the brake pedal). However, if I toggle the adjustable pedal switch (in any direction) the escs immediately becomes responsive again. There seems to be some type of interaction between the adjustable pedal switch and the escs causing this problem. I¿ve been to the dealer with no assistance. Due to the escs intermittently not disengaging via the cancel button this can be a serious safety issue.

57 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/10/2016

When on the road in warmer weather everything is fine and then all electrical components stop working windows, air conditioner, speed control, radio, not sure what else. All idiot lights come on, wipers come on and wont stop until key is in off position or if you keep driving it will eventuality come to normal but until it does, no windows, no ac makes it a hazard in traffic at temps around 100 degrees. Makes one wonder what will happen next because it gets real hot in the car real fast and it works on your mind. When the weather is cool it hardly ever happens but when it does occur its for a shorter time. Headlites say on but I'm not sure about the brake lites and turn signals.

58 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2000 Chrysler Town & Country

62 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 04/17/2016

While driving down highway at about 60 mph with wife and 3 children, suddenly with no warning, all power to vehicle was completely lost. This made it very difficult to safely move vehicle to shoulder. If traffic would have been heavy this could have caused a serious accident. Once vehicle was parked it would not restart and had to be towed 20 miles to dealer. Once at dealer electrical system seemed to fail further. Power windows, locks and doors would no longer work. Clearly some sort of serious electrical problem this is the 4th time something like this happened, but with the previous incidents the car always started once it was stopped and put into park and key was turned.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer (troncalli Chrysler Jeep Dodge-ram, 818 atlanta hwy, cumming, GA 30040, (678) 244-4100) where it was diagnosed. The vehicle was temporarily repaired without a permanent solution. The contact also stated that the dealer failed to provide a detailed diagnosis. An independent mechanic indicated that the computer module failed to function properly, which caused the vehicle to shake violently and caused a crack in the engine. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and provided no remedy other than having the vehicle diagnosed and repaired by a dealer. The failure mileage was not available.

66 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2004 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

After filling up with fuel, the car was started, and driven out of the gas station, but less than 50 feet out onto the road, the car lost power then regained power then lost it cycling rapidly through this where rpm would come up to idle speed than drop to near zero up and down. No ability to move out of traffic, etc. , eventually completely stalled. The car started hard, but restarted and I could drive out of harms way. The car drove for about 2 blocks and acted up again for a few moments and then performed fine. This problem also occurred for another driver in the family about 2 weeks (4 fuel fills) earlier.

67 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/08/2016

Vehicle stalled (highly dangerous, loss of power steering at high speeds): 2nd time in less than 1 week vehicle has stalled while driving in motion on highway between speeds of 25mph (1st time) and 45 mph (2nd time). No turns involved. Weather conditions were favorable with no rain or inclement weather, both were at night 7-8pm timeframe @ approx 50 degrees f outside air temp both times. Vehicle is a 2010 Chrysler tc with 4. 0 liter engine. 119,875 miles when it happened a second time. 1st time esp light came on, cannot confirm this occurred the 2nd time. No prior indications, no prior reported problems that I am aware of . Second owner, purchased car under warranty @ approx. 44,000 miles. Very hard to understand how this has not been diagnosed given the amount of complaints. I am an experienced mechanic in the aviation field, had this been an aircraft, the fleet would be grounded.

68 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/03/2015

I was driving up hill in the city of muscatine and my automobile started roaring and accelerating near a stop sign and I could not get the auto to stop. I ended up hitting a curb and crashed into two trees and was knocked unconscious. The airbags in the front and the side did not deploy. Both sides of the car were impacted and the front also. The car was still roaring when emergency personal arrived to assist me. This caused me to have seizures and was taken to emergency room and admitted to hospital. The ups driver heard the car roaring and me crashing into the trees.

69 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/11/2015

As we were driving at about 30 mph the van started to accelerate on its own. It revved up to 70 mph then to 50 then to 20 then back up to 70. We couldn't control the speed with gas pedal or the brake pedal. We were just gliding. I told my wife to put it into nuetral and tap on brake pedal till we finally slowed down. We then turned van off and let it sit. We then called are mechanics as we just had a transmission flush done. Of course they found nothing wrong with it because it wasn't doing it for them. We trust our mechanics as we have been using them for years now on all our vehicles and have never had a problem until this van. The next day we are sitting at a light and the van is jumping like it wants to go and a loud clunk noise happens like its shifting gears. Then the following morning my wife is getting in van to take kids to school and turns on van and it turns itself off. Our mechanics had this van for 2 days and have drove it with there computers hooked up to it and no red flags. The main mechanic says it's probably the computer. After further research on this van I now have found this is a very common problem with this make, model, year. Yet nothing has been done to resolve it. This is a major safety issue that apparently Chrysler is aware of but would rather make $1200 off consumers then fix on there own. Clearly my safety and my families safety isn't a concern for them. We drive almost an hour on the highway every other week. Now I have to be worried this van won't drive my family into another vehicle because its taking over and we have no way of stopping it.

70 Vehicle Speed Control problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town and country. While driving approximately 45 mph, the vehicle independently accelerated to approximately 80 mph without warning.
