I have been having issues with my horn sounding while driving and took it to the dealership and they could not diagnose the problem. The horn continued to sound while driving at different times without warning and on August 1, 2018 I was driving and it was raining and my horn started sounding and I had my windshield wipers on at the time and when the horn sounded the wipers stopped working for a few seconds and when the horn stopped sounding the wipers began working again. I was driving on a city street at the time. I took the car back to the dealership and they kept if for several days and then diagnosed the issue as total integrated power module.

Takata recall my car had been having this knocking sound, and then developed this sound like something was stretching inside the passenger side. The batter light cam on but the car was ok. The next day it came back on the air conditioning came on them went off all the other lights on the dash kept coming on and off. K stopped at an auto parts store to have them check it, and it would not start all the lights on the dash were on the fritz and reset. When driving on the road it would not let me go above 40 mph and the rpm went up to like 4.
I was parked, went in pharmacy with spouse listening to music upon reentering vehicle I thought car was running so I shifted in gear without the car being turn on with key in off position.

The first time the throttle control warning light came on, I was mid-turn into oncoming traffic when my vehicle stalled, completely stopping almost causing another vehicle to t-bone me. Car shut off and when I restarted it, it automatically accelerated. Arrived at my destination within a mile and later that day when I turned on my car to go home, the light was off and no issues. A couple days go by, on my way to work again, I am trying to stop for a red light, throttle control warning light comes on and car accelerates instead causing me to run the red light. Throttle control light stays on for the rest of the day but when I go to drive it the next day its off and no issues. Took car in to get oil changed and other unrelated work done and they don't find any issues. About 3 weeks go by, don't drive the car for 5 days, it drives fine the first day and then today (the second day) on my way to work, I went to slow down for a stop light, when I pushed on the gas to accelerate again, throttle control light comes on and I have the gas pedal to the floor but car won't go above 13 mph. Drove this way for about 3 miles, making no stops worried that I wouldn't be able to get it to go at all, until I was somewhere safe that I could park the vehicle. Just went to go turn it on after about 4 hours and light is still on.
Crankshaft position sensor goes out car shuts off during driving in traffic or at light without warning very dangerous, noticed other people with Dodge journey had same issue please help. Happened usually when in motion.

I was stopped at an intersection in my subdivision to let some kids cross the street. All of a sudden, the engine slowed down like it was going to die and then sped up. The car started to lurch forward. I pushed the brake down the rest of the way to keep the car from running over the kids.
After 80'000 miles shifing problems, the car will not go into reverse. Will not back up. Along with seat belt issues.

The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that there was no recall and to contact NHTSA. The approximate failure mileage was 58,000.
No heat on passenger side had the heater core flushed did no good was told there was left over sand from engine cast. This should be fixed by chysler! I don't have $1500 to fix a problem that they are well aware of.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. While the gear shifter was placed in reverse, the shift gear connector jumped off without warning. The vehicle stalled and there were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was towed to greenway Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram orlando (9051 e colonial dr, orlando, FL 32817, (888) 292-3985), but was not diagnosed. The vehicle was diagnosed by an independent mechanic and the gear shifter was temporarily repaired. The contact stated that the failure recurred and the independent mechanic replaced the gear shifter. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and stated that no recall was associated with the VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
My car's engine stalls and shuts off while in the middle of acceleration or even while at idle. The dealership cannot find any issues as to why it would stop running and I am extremely afraid to drive the car for fear I will have an accident. When the engine stalls, the power steering stops working and it is hard to steer the car to a safe spot.
Tire pressure monitoring system indicator light came on. Every since I have been having various problem with this car. Such as engine rough idling/stalling, transmission issues, tire pressure monitor don't work, engine won't start/dead battery. Just a lot of unusual problems. I be driving the vehicle city or highway. Don't matter whether I am driving straight or turning. This vehicle will stall in the middle of the road. Yet stall right back up. All started after the tire pressure monitoring light came on. I believe it has something to do with the tire monitor system. I have been taken chances, hoping that it will go away like it started. My repair service can't fine the problem and said to check for recalls. These unsafe conditions have been going on for a while. Help needed.
Car shuts off when put in drive, if not it will jerk really hard and shut off . It's as if the transmission locks up and it cuts the car off. Almost cause and accident a couple of times . I do not feel safe driving the car.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle jerked without warning and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the diagnostic code reader indicated that the vehicle had an automatic transmission control system malfunction, loose fuel cap, and the battery input voltage was low. The mechanic was unable to diagnose the cause of the transmission malfunction and the low battery voltage. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact spoke to jenkins Chrysler Dodge Jeep (2561 us-27, lafayette, GA 30728) who stated that labor would cost $85 per hour. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
Came home from work one day parked car and when came out later that day to leave my car wouldnt shift out of park. Now have to push a pink button in down by left side of shifter to release it to shift. I feel this is dangerous because if bumped wrong accident mat occur if it locks up.
As I was driving my 2013 Dodge Avenger on the turnpike at speed of 75mph my red warning light that looks like a lightning bolt came on along with the check engine and traction warning lights. My vehicle tended to hesitate ,jerk and reduce speed dramatically. The vehicle wouldnt excellorateno more than 10mph. I attempted to steer off to a brakedown lane but while doing so I nearly got sideswiped and rear ended multiple times. I have looked on line and seen several complaints revolving around this issue. I am not the only driver that had near misses with an accident. This is a huge safety issue! please look into this matter please, for the saftey of all drivers. Thank you.
I have a 2014 Dodge Avenger rt 3. 6 vvt. . . I purchased it with around 32,000 miles and right around 55000 miles my ac went out im being told its the evaporator and is gonna cost 700 hundred dollars to fix and now at 70,000 miles its starting to makes this tapping noise they say it's probably the lifters or something but it sounds like its low on oil but its not the dealer basically wants money.
We have been having a lot of problems with our car lately. First problem we had was with our alarm system. The alarm has gone off on us both when the car is off and when the car is on. The horn starts and won't go off until after about 5 minutes no matter what we do. We have try turning it of with our key alarm, turning the car on and off, unlocking the doors but nothing seems to work. Yesterday we were driving our car and the car stall and we were lucking to be able to pull to the side safetly since we were coming to a stop. After a couple attempts, we got the car back on and running. I have search this problem and I found that it could be the tpms. As to what we have experience with the car lately, we are almost sure it is this. We contacted the dealership and we were told that this recall was perform back in April of 2008 and are not responsible for anything the car is going through now and will not replace the part for us again. Can you please let me know if the dealership is required to switch this part for us again since our car is not safe to drive or if we would have to solve this problem.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Avenger. While driving various speeds, the vehicle suddenly failed to accelerate and the electronic throttle control sensor illuminated. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 178,000.
Lightning bolt comes on traction control light flashes loosing all power 20mph top speed. Dealer has no idea brakes sqeek while backing up and have been replaced twice. Started in September then stopped now it is doing it again. Engine light comes on testing shows leak in gas cap. Replaced now it's coming on again.
Takata recall also heater core issue. Heat only blows on drivers side when set to heat and cold air blows on passenger side. Seems to be a known issue with Chrysler but they do not want to force a recall. Transmission also slams into gear when stopping and at times before acceleration. No dip stick to verify fluid level. Dealer states nothing wrong with it. They stated they flushed heater core and still have same issue. This happens driving in winter or summer on highway, city streets.
About 3 weeks ago, I was driving down the highway and the etc light came on for a split second, the car wouldn't accelerate, than the light shut off and drove fine. For the next few day's it did it once or twice on the highway when I would go up hills. The last day I drove it before taking it to a mechanic it did it again, only this time the light didn't shut off and I had to pull over on the highway. I shut the car off and it started, there was no light on so I began to drive. About 10 miles down the highway, the light turned on again and the car wouldn't go over 60mph. I got it to a mechanic shop. They did a diagnostic test and couldn't tell me what exactly was wrong with it. They said they cleaned the throttle body but it didn't help and suggested that I take it to the dealer ship. I called the manufacturer to see if there was a recall and to see about a warranty. They said that I still had power train warranty and should take it to the dealer so they could do adiagnostic test. After telling them what the other machines did they said it probably was the throttle body but it's not under power train warranty. They manufacturer said they would get back to me about who's going to cover the cost.
When driving car will suddenly stall. This has happen going under and over 30mph. Had several times where it won't restart. Towed it to mechanic, they can't find anything wrong. Car only has 50,000 miles.
Powertrain control module for Dodge Avenger on backorder due to faulty system - part not available from Chrysler dealerships because of huge influx of requests for this part - requesting that this be considered as a recall situation.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Avenger. While driving various speeds, the steering, brake, and accelerator pedal locked up without warning. The contact had to turn off and restart the vehicle in order for it to resume normal operation. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 10,000.
Got home, put car in park & let go of the brake. Noticed I was rolling backwards so I quickly pushed on the brake. Looked on my dash & it indicated the car was in reverse, so I pushed on the gear shifter to make sure it was pushed all the way up, which it was. I then turned the car off & tried to turn it back on. The car then wouldn't start 7 the gears would not change. Looked online, seen there was a common issue with the pink plastic piece connected to the gear. Pushed the pink plastic piece in & it allowed me to switch gears when it was held in but I am still unable to crank my car & even when the gears are switched the dashboard says the car is still in reverse. Looked up recalls & sure enough there is a recall but of course when I entered my car information it doesn't apply to my car. I also have replaced the alternator 4 times in 3 years. I was told that it is a poor design that causes the alternator to wear down & lock up so quickly. I will ever buy another chrystler Dodge vehicle in my life. This car has by far been the worst investment of my life. I really hope something happens to get these cars off of the road forever before they end up killing someone due to the highly poor design of everything in them!.
I parked my car in the garage, the shifter was clearly in park, then I got out of my car and went into the house to make dinner, and my wifes doctors office called with a subscription, I hit the garage door opener and it would not open, and it started flashing, the car rolled into it on its own, I got into the car and tried to start it with the gear-shift in park and it would not, looked in the heads-up display and it showed it was in neutral and the car was rolling freely. If this would have happened in a public parking lot this situation could have been very serious.
Knocking sound coming from passenger side dash, found to be air blend door. Knocking occurs intermittently before, during, and after engine start. Vehicle has also lost heat to the passenger side, due to buildup of "sludge" in the heater core. The loss of heat to the passenger side creates the in-ability to DE-frost/DE-fog windshield and could pose a safety risk to driving conditions in low temperatures or high humidity. Currently customers are being asked to pay a cost ranging from $1,200-$2,000 to replace the heater core, coolant flush, and blend door replacement. Issue seems to be related to powertrain manufacturing (where else would sludge/debris come from in heater core?) but this issue is not being covered under warranty. . .
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Avenger. When attempting to accelerate the vehicle at highway speeds the vehicle hesitated before accelerating. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who was unable to identify the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 45,000.
I feel these. Recalls should be done on my car because I don't feel safe and was beg informed about any of them and my car is having issues due to them.

I was driving my car and as I came to a light my car started to idle really rough like it was going to stall the rpms went all the way down to almost 200rpm then I put the car in neutral and hit the gas a bit so it wouldn't stall and it revved up to 1000 rpm and then shut off completely and the electronic throttle control light flashed at me . Then I restarted my car and there were no lights on . The car was idleing really rough. I have the 2. 4l I-4. Its never ran that way before so I continued to drive and about twenty minutes later it did the same exact thing. I am out of my bumper to bumper warranty so a dealer wanted 100 just to take a look at the car I went to autozone to have the computer scanned and he said their were no codes. He told me he didn't know what the issues could be either . This is the 5th time this has happened to me . The other day when I was backing pulling out of my driveway I went to put it in reverse it wouldn't go into reverse then all of a sudden as I was giving it a little bit of gas it slammed into reverse it almost felt like the transmission fell out of the car. And it chirped the tires. Then after I backed out my engine stalled and the etc light came on. ( electronic throttle control)then I attempted to start my car and it drove fine like nothing had happened.
After 4 years vehicle has begun stalling after auto start when you turn key on. It has also begun stalling at lights. Hard to detect a stall right away until you go to use it. Caused a few times a very unsafe condition.
