40 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 02/14/2023

Was getting on freeway and hit the gas to accelerate and get ahead of the traffic. The Challenger would not accelerate fast (has a hemi) and car almost flew into me. Started testing the vehicle and it just wouldn't accelerate fast, it was stall slowly and pickup speed over 30 seconds or so. I brought it in to one shop and they said its probably a software update and to take it to Dodge and it should be free. Dodge told me it's probably not software, kept my car for 5 days and told me it was a software update and that they updated it for free but still charged me $175 for the "diagnosis" when I told them exactly what the issue was. And now that I got it back, it gets stuck in reverse, you have to turn the vehcile off and wait and start it again then it works. At a red light turn yesterday, it wouldn't drive forward and the "d" for drive started flashing.

43 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 12/08/2022

I was driving on the interstate and the acc/fcw light came on. Then soon after the abs light came on then the power steering system failed causing the steering wheel to lock while I was driving. I turned my car off in the emergency lane and restarted the car. All of them light when off but then the airbag warning light came on.

44 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/22/2022

"turn signal indicator lamp out" shows frequently on the dash display. It will remain on for 3-10 seconds and go off. Upon inspection, all exterior lamps function perfectly fine. Even when turn indicator on the dash blinks rapidly, the exterior lamps blink normally. It also dings when the indicator comes on. This just started about six weeks ago. This issue tells the driver that a lamp is out, when in reality it is not. It is very frustrating, as it may occur as often as every five minutes. I have talked to three independent repair shops, as well as three Dodge dealerships. I received basically the same response from all three dealerships, "we have no idea what may be causing this, but leave it with us for a day, and we will investigate. At $182 per labor hour. And we may not find the problem. " I would have happily have paid for an hour or so of tracing, but a day?.

48 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 07/01/2022

Electrical system is going completely haywire. The display screen beeps as if being touched constantly causing driver distractions. Bluetooth hands free function makes random phone calls, hangs up and redials repeatedly causing driver distractions. The display also flashes from one setting to another, pulling up the navigation system and changing the route repeatedly causing driver distractions. Blindspot indicator does not work consistently which has caused at least one close call on the highway and could potentially lead to an accident. Turn signals will turn on but won't turn off unless driver works with them for several minutes which distracts the driver from the road. The tire pressure monitoring system is not accurate and indicates low tire pressure but tires are fine when checked which may cause the driver to become lesafaire about the tire pressure and miss an actual low tire and cause an accident.

50 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 04/26/2022

Uconnect 8. 4 system screen delaminating. Essentially, out of nowhere, a large bubble appeared on my 2018 Challenger scat pack's center uconnect screen. This is the third Challenger I've owned, and unfortunately for me, the only one I kept outside of the factory warranty timeframe. I have 28,000 miles on the car, and it is in fantastic condition, aside from this issue. First, I contacted the dealer, and they stated that even though my miles were under the limit - due to the timeframe they could not help me. They suggested I contact Dodge customer support, where they advised me that it was a known issue (search google or any forum with uconnect screen delamination) but their hands were tied as well. They recommended that I post on this website, as many were experiencing this issue and a recall was imminent. Lastly, I contacted uconnect themselves, who said the same thing. A known issue, recall pending, just need it to officially get approved before they can help. As so many are experiencing this, I hope that this issue can be resolved so I can continue to be a loyal Dodge customer. It is well known from the dealer, to customer support, to the actual manufacturer. Just looking for some help so I don't have to eat the full cost of replacement for something that is obviously (and stated by the company themselves) a production error. They claimed that they have since fixed the issue. The bubble continues to grow every day, and I'm concerned that soon I will be without the essential controls - like hvac, safety (rear camera), driver modes, radio, maps, etc. They are all dependent on this single unit to function. I also purchased the extended warranty on my vehicle through ally (Dodge's financing company) and they are unable to assist as it is a "pending" recall, and is not completely broken yet. Not the answer I was expecting when I hear "everything from electrical to engine, to transmission will be covered". Just want them to acknowledge the recall, fixing issue for us.

51 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 04/06/2022

On April 6, 2022 at approximately 2300 I was driving 65 mph on an old two lane highway when all lighting on the instrument cluster, steering wheel, touchscreen, kick panels, and both headlights went out causing me to drive off the road momentarily as I was in a curve. For several moments all of these components would light up and off erratically. During this event, my windows also began rolling up and down on their own. I immediately turned on my hazard lights and began to slow down to look for a place to pull over. This was a long and empty stretch of old highway and there was no shoulder to pull onto. At this point my hazard lights became faulty as well and would not flash at times. The safety of myself and others were at risk because during this event that lasted approximately five minutes, all aforementioned components would fault for moments at a time and there were times that I could not see the roadway or obstacles in front of me, I could not see my speed, I could not reliably use my hazard lights to warn other drivers. Other drivers would have had a near impossible time seeing me, such as the semi truck driver who almost hit me then flashed his brights and laid on his air horn when my lights had cut off. There were no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure and none after either.

60 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 09/23/2021

The uconnect 8. 4 display in my car has begun to delaminate. There is a large air pocket under the top portion of my display. This morning while waiting for the car to warm up so the heat would function on the climate control system, I used the display to set the defrost to on. After removing the initial frost from my windshield and I was able to see clearly, I left the house and headed to work. While on my way to work I begun to hear confirmation beeps from my display, as if I was touching the onscreen controls. The touchscreen display began to change settings on its own. Changing my climate controls from high heat to low cold resulting in my windshield immediately frosting up and reducing my visibility to nothing, during morning traffic. I nearly impacted another vehicle that was turning while distracted by the display and the lack of visibility it caused. I rolled down the windows and found a safe place to pull over to wipe the frost from my windshield. The entire time the display was switching thru pages and begun to call contacts from my phone change songs, and even the performance level settings. I had taken the vehicle to the dealership far prior to my warranty expiring when I initially noticed the bubble at the top of my screen, only to be told that since it was a cosmetic defect and the operation was normal that the warranty would not cover the replacement. And a replacement was $2,200. Now my vehicle warranty is expired and it has changed from a cosmetic defect to a defect that has affected the safe operation and nearly caused me to rear end another vehicle at 55 mph. From the research I have gathered during my lunch break the display in these units operates too hot and the glue bonding the touch panel to the display itself has melted and caused the separation. It seems to be a common issue that affects any vehicle with a 8. 4 uconnect display, judging by complaints on the forums. This is not only a distraction but a major safety hazard.

61 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/20/2021

Abs light is on airbag light is on traction control won't come back on.

62 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/17/2021

My seatbelt seemed a bit faulty when I purchased the car. It was slow to retract and at some points wouldn’t retract unless I played with the seatbelt. Three years in to owning the car it still won’t retract fully and is at the point where it won’t come out to a safe distance that allows me to wear my seatbelt. As for the electrical defaults, there are times when I am driving and the display, between my speedometer and rpm dials, turned off. So would my center display, yet my radio continued to play. There were no warning signs or signals when that would happen. It is always random.

63 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/03/2021

I purchased my vehicle new as a 2015. The hvac blower motor has gone out so quickly and is rattling. It has been about two days when it started out of nowhere and as of today, the blower is not blowing anything out. It should last for 10-20+ years. My wife had the same issue with her BMW and it burned out and black smoke came out the vents. The wires were scorched. This is a safety issue due to fires. I have done research and vehicles have caught fire because of this problem in vehicles. Please advise and thank you. Jason morales.

64 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 08/01/2021

The wiring to the headlights are getting hot and visibly showing burn mark's to the wiring and fuses to the headlights (not halo lights). It is causing the headlights to come on intermittently. Sometimes they come on at night and sometimes they don't. Sometimes they are off and suddenly comes on after miles of driving with my flashers. I can spell the burning sometimes. The Dodge dealership in douglasville georgia verified the wire and fuse burning. The dealership technicians spoke of relocating the wires to empty fuse box slots. How will that prevent the wires from burning? this could be a fire hazard. Your assistance is appreciated.

Failure Date: 07/30/2021

Speedometer is messed up and not working properly what should I do?.

66 Electrical System problem of the 2021 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 07/17/2021

Uconnect freezing and stuttering causing delays in back up camera and other functions causing safety concerns.

67 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 06/05/2021

On June 5, 2021 vehicle stalled at stoplight on ramp after exiting highway. Car had power but would not start, gears could not change to put in neutral to move vehicle. No warning lights, so symptoms to show a problem may exist. Car would not move and sat in traffic for over an hour waiting on tow truck. Battery checked and verified in good condition. No trouble codes. Research shows that this exact issue for this exact model car known under recall 18v524000, but this specific VIN does no show an active recall.

68 Electrical System problem of the 2010 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 06/03/2021

The car has an intermittent issue where at highway speeds it will go into almost a limp mode. Basically the check engine light comes on and car loses power and won't go over 45 mph. I have to pull over and shut car off. It will restart and operate normally for a random period of time. Very dangerous when on the highway and have to pull over to the side of the road. From the forums I belong to, this is a very common problem. There are even members that have bought a brand new Challenger and had this happen to them after a few months. The code that usually appears from this is misfire on cylinder 1 and even the dealerships don't know what causes it and hard to diagnose since it happens randomly. Love the car but very annoyed that this keeps happening and no one can figure out the fix.

69 Electrical System problem of the 2013 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 06/01/2021

I am having the same issue with the “Smart glass” in my 2013 Challenger sxt. There is already an active recall for the 2011 Dodge Challenger.

70 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Dodge Challenger

Failure Date: 05/01/2021

2012 Challenger srt8 tipm is this issue and there is no recall for this, while it should due to being a major part of the electrical system that controls all aspects of the safety system. Also now I am being told Dodge does not make this part any longer. . . . How is that possible. This is a recall for other Dodge models, why not mine.
