After filling the gas tank I can drive a few blocks and I'd sputters and dies the fuel pumps are fairly new. It starts back up and it sputters. It happens every time we fill the tank. It has been ongoing since we bought the car.

Very strong gasoline odor after filling tank. Noticed strong odor in our garage and found a large puddle of gas under car directly beneath the rear passenger side seat. Upon investigation discovered there is a secondary fuel pump at that location that is prone to cracking/leaking. The exhaust system is also located on the right side of the vehicle, which causes even greater concern for possibility of fire. I have seen many other complaints of the same nature and would like a logical explanation as to why there has been no recall for this extreme safety issue. Is it because no one had been killed by it--yet?.

My vehicle has been stalling after filling up gas tank. This is very danger as it stops sometimes on a busy road. There needs to be a recall ASAP! I have looked up forums and this is happening to a lot of 2006 Chargers.
Vehicle stalls when slowing to stop or turn, only after filling the gas tank. The stalling persists, and has left me in dangerous situations, until enough fuel is used. From 3/4 full and lower there is no stalling whatsoever.
For the last several months I have had problems with my 2006 Dodge Charger rt stalling and cutting while driving or idling while stopped. This happens only after filling up my gas tank. Recently it happened while turning at an intersection and I had to quickly steer into a business parking lot to get out of traffic.
I noticed a strong gas smell in my car after I fill up. And every time I filled the tank the smell would be very strong inside the car. Well after about 6 months of not filling up, l recently had it checked out and it turns out the plastic fuel pump casing is cracked and gas is pooling underneath the passenger side sit.

Vehicle stalls and dies 6-8 times immediately after filling tank with fuel. It does this every time I fill it. Purchased car on 7/27/2019. Recall on airbags actuator was repaired at dealership but is not showing as documented on your website.
Sometimes after filling the fuel tank full with gasoline, when driving the car, the engine stalls and quits. It can be a bit difficult to restart. I have only had this happen on city streets because those are the only places I normally drive.
I smelled the strong odor of gasoline inside my Charger. I brought it to the dealership who advised that the vehicle was leaking gas from around the o ring at the fuel pump which is located under the rear passenger seat. The mechanic tightened the cover to the fuel pump and returned the vehicle. About a month later the vehicle was now visibly leaking gas fonto the ground and the fuel smell inside the vehicle was intolerable. I returned to the dealer and left it with them for a day in which time they replaced the ring, tested it and found no further leakage and returned the vehicle to me. By the next morning the vehicle was leaking again, this time much worse. I had to park it away from the house for fear that it might cause an explosion when if left in the hot garage with the fumes filling up the garage. I see that there have been 71 complaints filed with NHTSA. This is truly a dangerous defect and should be recalled before someone gets killed. I just had my daughter and grand kids in the car with some of the grand kids sitting over the fuel pump located under the seat. Who in there right mind would put fuel pumps under the rear seat. The problem seems to occur when the vehicle's fuel tank is full. When I moved it away from the house it left a trail of gasoline to where I parked it and by the next morning there was a huge spot on the ground and the car was full of fumes. This is a safety hazard if there every was one.
After filling gas a check engine light comes on and the vehicle stalls while being stopped at lights. The vehicle has had all emissions components replaced except for the evaporator canister and fuel tank. Unknown as of yet if the vehicle stalls under highway conditions, but close to being hit in the rear when vehicle stalls at traffic lights.
After filling up gas tank (not topping off at all) the car will stall randomly for about 15 minutes after fill up even while driving at higher speeds. Very dangerous. Steering is lost and even when restarting it takes a second for the transmission to engage when putting the car in drive. This has been happening with my vehicle for about a year now.
Noticed gas smell immediately after filling gas tank completely up. A couple days later I had a very strong gas smell inside vehicle and while driving. Started noticing that there was a moderate size puddle under vehicle where the rear seat is. I've seen many reports of this happening and it disturbs me that there hasn't been a recall.
Car shuts off without warning while in motion after filling gas tank. Power steering goes out as well. Very dangerous as the driver has no warning. . .
Car will shut off going 45 mph, at a stop light (0 mph) or when crossing traffic intersections for examples (at most going 10 or 15 mph). I will attempt to restart and the car will start up, stall up and then shut off again - when this happens, I lose power steering. I have to switch gears from drive to park and then turn the car off and then on again in hopes it will start. As you're driving, you can feel when the car is about to cut off, it throttles ahead a bit and revs, then the car beeps and turns off, while the gear is in drive and turning my wheel does nothing. I notice that this issue would usually happen after a fill up my gas tank, so I started only filling up halfway ,but the issue still persists. This issue became heavily frequent yesterday where the car stalled and cut off at least 4 different times while making a 7 mile drive back home. This was very very scary in my eyes, especially with a passenger in my seat. This is a huge safety concern because the vehicle is shutting off while in motion and powering steering is lost. If this happens on the highway going 60+ miles per hour, or turning into oncoming traffic, there is a guaranteed accident, possibly resulting in serious injury or death. I believe there is an issue with the gas tank and the evap canister that causes the sensors to think that gas is overfilling the engine, which shuts off the car. This was filed under NHTSA pe13-016 (which appears to be closed or inaccessible- https://www-odi. Nhtsa. Dot. Gov/acms/cs/documentlist. Xhtml?docid=pe13016&doctype=inv). This safety concern really needs to be looked into.
My vehicle had problems just after the 1 year mark. In October 2018 filled the gas tank and began to pull away from the pump, at this time the car was in "drive" but down-shifted into what felt like neutral. An error code ran across the dash saying "push p to park, select desired gear". I put it in park and turned it off then on again. This happened twice but it still did it. I parked the car, turned it off and had it towed- dealer said it was fine, and wasn't throwing any codes and let me drive away. Not 5 miles down the road and it started smelling of gas and was riding very rough and backfiring. I pull over to the nearest next dealership and they notice that gas is pouring out the back of the car. Diagnosed as an 'overfilled charcoal canister' stating that I overfilled the gas tank. Was repaired, I had to submit to have it covered under warranty. I get the vehicle back and not 2 months later the exact same issue after filling tank with gas. Gas is pouring out the back, gas gauge is going crazy rising and falling and finally dropping off as gas pours out the back. Had it towed again and repaired at a 3rd dealership. Given back to me and told it was covered under warranty but that we overfilled the tank. Happened a third time not 3 months later and finally the entire gas tank was replaced. Brought it home and was told I should be able to fill it, as the first two times it was likely a sensor in the gas tank causing the issues. The car smelled of gas again when I stopped to fill the tank on the way back from the dealership. My husband pulled the seats back and had to soak up the overflow from the canister himself- I don't fill the tank all the way anymore for fear of a fire. My daughter complains of headaches when in the car- wondering if its related to the pooling gas under her carseat. Very concerned that this is not being taken seriously by Dodge.

The car stalls after filling up the fuel tank. Dodge has extended the warranty on these tanks but says my car is not covered. This is a safety issue, I have had it stall on the highway and in traffic. I don't understand why this isn't a safety recall.
Shortly after fill up the car will die. This has happened multiple times after filling up and it has happened after multiple fill ups. The car will start moving and I will begin driving when the car dies and I lose power steering. I took it to a mechanic and they said that it is a known safety issue with 2006 Dodge Chargers. The fuel tank and the evap canister needs to be replaced.
While driving after filling gas tank to full, vehicle stalled twice on way home. Both occurrences happened within a 5 minute period. Both occurrences happened with the vehicle in motion, on a city street.
Purchased a 2011 Dodge Charger 2 months ago for my teenage son. When filling up gas tank more than 3/4 full gas leaks while car in park from area about 1. 5 feet in front of rear passenger wheel. Cabin smells of gas odor. Called dealer that I purchased car from. . . No help. Tons of complaints online regarding this problem. Extremely concerned for son to drive Dodge. Please stand behind your cars. Let's recall this and keep people safe before a life is lost. One life is too many.
1. After filling the tank the car is subject to engine shutting off periodically. 2. Car is stuck in park and cannot be gotten out of park.
I been online looking for this kinda problem and it looks like everyone has this problem but there is not recall and this is extremely dangerous, can whenever you fill up the tank and the level from the gas shuts off on it's own, meaning not overfilling. The car stalls at lot in low rpms and hesitates alot, car shuts off and steering wheel lock making this extremely dangerous, tank is 19 gallos, once you waste 1-2 gallos of gas everything goes back to normal, have change already purge valve in front of the car, also the evap leak detection pump and nothing, everyone online has this problem and no one has a fixed. No engine lights comes on, sometimes a misfire, changed map sensor, camshaft sensor, crank sensor, mass airflow sensor, spark plugs wires, injectors and plugs and still the same. When I run torque app from android store it says evap cap off on red, like that test it never pass. Something with gas related I guess.
After filling the gas tank and driving home, the car stalled on the street in front of my home. Took 3-4 time to get it started again. Could have had an accident.
Engine stall after filling gas tank up and starting to drive vehicle on roadway.
After filling the fuel tank and pulling into traffic the car stalls which is very dangerous considering cars approaching or following you could crash into you . This happens each time I fuel up.
Passenger side fuel pump faulty, leakes gas into the car cabin making it smell like fuel after filling up the car until its down to about 3/4 of a tank.

After filling fuel tank the vehicle would sputter and stall at stop light. Although it would restart it continues this pattern of stalling at streetlights or coming to a stop.
For several months when filling gas tank up I would smell a strong gas odor in the cabin of the car. After the gas level would start to go down the oder would go away. Well, the last few days the odor got really strong and it didn't matter how much gas was in the tank, it made me and my family really nauseous, and after a few days of this the check engine light came on and the car started sputtering like it wanted to staul out. Well finally after about a week of this the odor got so strong that it made me very fatigued and sick, you can smell the gas in my clothes and my eyes started to burn. My cars engine is clumping like the engine is about to go out so I parked it at home and shut it off. I'll have to have it towed to dealership to have it looked at. I'm sure it's gonna be just like everyone else's car with the tube leading from gas tank refule door to tank. How this hasn't been recalled is beyond me because it's affecting thousands of vehicles.
After filling up the gas tank, the vehicle will stall for no apparent reason. It will restart but immediately stall again causing me to restart it again. It will do so 5 to 10 times before running normally again. It doesn't seem to matter at what speed but mostly at slower speeds. I have been caught in lanes on the freeway and it could lead to a very dangerous situation especially here in California. This car has been babied and has less than 25,000 miles on it.

After filling up gas tank, vehicle will rapidly lose rpms and stall when stopped at lights or stop signs. I then put the vehicle in park and am able to restart it, but it will stall again while moving right after. This causes a loss of power steering which has almost caused me to crash multiple times. I only bought the car 12 days ago and it has done this multiple times. I have read the multiple other complaints, and have tried to fix the problem by replacing the pcm, but that did not work. Others have suggested replacing the gas tank because the stall could be caused by the vapor recovery system failing following refueling. I believe this issue is related to NHTSA action pe13016. The vehicle in its current condition is unsafe to drive as it will stall while moving and lose power steering. The problem first occurred on 11/7/16, and occurred again on 11/15/16, both times after I refueled. It will not occur if the gas is below 3/4 full. I replaced the pcm on 11/10/16, but that did not fix the problem.
Charger is stalling frequently. After filling up with gas. Stalled and went into some safe mode where it wouldn't go into second gear. Stalled on the highway, side roads and while making a turn. While making the turn it stalled in the middle of the intersection while a truck was coming at us. I had my son in the car and we were stranded in the road. We could have been killed!! I have read up on this and it seams to be a faulty sensor at the gas tank fill up. Why has this not been addressed? sounds like you are waiting for someone to get killed before doing anything. Great company!!!.
Gas tank extended lifetime warranty. My car stalls after refilling gas tank. It dies at idle. It dies when moving! it is very dangerious situation!!.
After filling my vehicle my car will stall and random intervals. Simply drive away from the gas station and the vehicle would stall so I'd start it and then continue to drive. This largely happened while I'm stationary so I wasn't very concerned until I had it stall while I was turning on to a street and almost got side swiped by an on coming car. This is extremely dangerous and should be dealt with by the company as they have acknowledged it as an issue and I have seen multiple people file complaints about this issue and nothing is being done. This in my opinion is more dangerous than the sir bag issue my vehicle has already had a recall for. Chrysler and Dodge has acknowledge the issue and stated it's a valve I can't recall the name of the specific part and having to replace the gas tank.
After filling up gas tank drove off from gas station car stalled started car right back up drove some more and it stalled again started car right back up drove and once again car stalled this time I was in the middle of traffic very scary it almost caused me to get hit by other drivers , went online to see if anyone else has had this problem and found many other owners with the same issue with the exact same scenario, car is well maintained and runs great other then this issue.
2 weeks ago I purchased this vehicle from a used car lot. This was the first time filling the fuel tank all the way. Once I left the gas station I started smelling gas fumes. Once the car was parked I noticed it leaking gas under the passenger side in front of the back wheel. 3 days later noticed it went from having a full tank to missing an 1/8 of a tank. While it was sitting at work it continuously dripped fuel until I had a flatbed pick it up to take it back to the lot. Pulled the back seat and the cover for the fuel pump and there was standing gas around the fuel pump. Very bad design to have the fuel pump at an angle for it to leak that bad if a seal goes bad.
Pulled in to gas station because my gas light came on with my wife and 3 of my children, one being only 1 year old, and a trunk full of fresh meats and fish from the market on a hot GA day 45 miles from home, put in $30 worth of gas which almost filled it up, went to start my car and it started jerking, clicking and shaking real bad before it just died. As scary as it was that this was happening I tried to start again and got the same result. With this kind of load and a baby on a hot day, broke and no other way home, I tried a few more times until it stopped turning over and just made a click sound, 1 click. A tire shop guy across the street seen I needed help, due to the baby now hungry and crying, came over to see if he could help. After trying to start again he said may be my battery, alternator or starter so he went to the parts store and got an h7 loaner battery. Once installed tried starting and again it started jerking, clicking and shaking real bad before dying. Another guy walked over to help, again due to the baby crying, and said that sounds like your fuel pump and said "I heard of people having problems with this when filling up with gas and they(dealership) have to replace your gas tank for free". I had to pay well over $100 for a tow truck and had to pay a complete stranger to follow me home with my family because there was no room in the tow truck for them. I've never had issues like this with my car but now as I'm researching for diy resolutions I'm finding that there are others who have had similar issues. This needs to be fixed immediately. I'm now out of money. I have 5 children and am the only one in my house working and this is my only means of transportation that I am still paying a note on. By the way, tried to start my car again and its still doing the same effing thing. Chrysler needs to do something fast!!!.
