Transmission Not Go Into Gear Problems of Dodge Charger

Tl-the contact owns a 2008 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that the pieces in their transmission are falling apart. The contact was driving at 20 mph the vehicle began to slow down. They had an 02 sensor installed and now the vehicle will not shift gears or go above 35 mph. The 02 sensor light illuminates. The vehicle was not towed. The contact took the vehicle back home. Two local mechanics installed the new 02 sensor and the vehicle remained in a failing status. Today, the vehicle was then to texas Dodge (806) 353-6343 7800 I-40 frontage rd, amarillo, TX 79106. My son besnik got gas drove up about 100 feet up a small hill leaving parking lot in fairfax county. When I gave car gas it would not go. Could not put into gear. Had to press the brakes so car would not roll down the hill. It took 20 min to make it work. Took it to lustine Dodge in woodbridge va they said they did software update. It has happened 2 more times in last 3 months. Took it back to lustine they asked to keep car. They had car from mon to Friday they drove it for 90 miles told me there was a sensor for transmission they could change but I would have to pay for it. They could not pay for sensor unless they can duplicate problem. I got very upset and asked them for part number and I would have another dealer install it. . Was told part is proprietary and they could not tell me which sensor it was. It took them almost 30 minutes to get my car after asking 3 times why it was taking so long. When we received the car it had a dent in back bumper. The service manager said he would look at his security cameras and get back to me. After a few days he called me to notify me he had not seen an accident on his tapes. Notified him they had driven it for 90 miles did he have tape on that.

E-shift issues, indication comes on screen saying the e-shift needs service since purchase! also, pulled up at atm and put in park, check engine light came on and listed e-shift issue, car would not go into gear. Mentioned e-shift issues with dealer since purchase and yet to be looked at or resolved. Every time I mention it, dealer employees seem puzzled and state that they've never heard of that before.

My vehicle shuts off at random times. While I am sitting at a red light it will shut off or while I am waiting for the car to warm up. When I take off the engine will shut off for a brief second. The engine starts up and the car will jerk forward. Sometimes when the vehicle shuts off it wont go back into gear and some of the gauges flash. I was left in the middle of an intersection twice when the vehicle shut off. I have taken the vehicle to transmission shops and dealerships and they can't tell me what is wrong with the vehicle.

The contact had to disassemble the gear box in order to shift out of park. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer who advised that the gear shift cable would need to be replaced. I have a 2006 Dodge Charger, purchased in cleveland OH in October/November 2005. I had issues with my vehicle starting in the beginning of 2006. I initially noticed that my transmission clutch was slipping and that my vehicle would not shift into gear. I took the vehicle into the dealership in September 2006 o find that the transmission clip had to be replaced. Then another issue, that has yet to be resolved, began to emerge in early 2007. I noticed that the vehicle would rumble as if was preparing to shut off, usually when I was coming to a stop. Additionally, my vehicle would at times seem to be stuck in idle when I was trying to accelerate. My vehicle has been in the dealership repair shop 5 different times for this issue. I was told twice that the computer chip needed to be reprogrammed. Two other times I was told the issue was related to brake issues and that my brakes needed to be replaced. I am filing this complaint because my vehicle is currently not under warranty, meaning a service charge everytime I take it in, and once again the issue has gone to the point where I need to take it one more time. I have contacted the manufacturer twice on this issue, once in 2007 and again recently, to no resolve. I have talked to one other Charger (2007)owner who indicated they have a similar issue. The issue only occurs periodically, but prevents me from traveling long distances in my vehicle for fear of irreparable damage. I feel as my last option is to file this complaint.

2007 Dodge Charger driving without any problems put in park engine still running went to reverse and will not change gears. . . I see there are numerous reports of this. It does not take a rocket scientists to figure this one out. Recall.
