The contact owns a 2018 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at slow speeds, there was an abnormal, repetitive thud sound coming from the vehicle. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the wheel bearings were replaced; however, after the repair, the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken back to the mechanic, where a diagnostic test was performed, and it was determined that the driveshaft needed to be replaced. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 18v281000 (power train) and associated the failure with the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
While driving on the highway with my 14-year-old child as a passenger, the vehicle began shaking/jerking and losing power. I activated hazard lights and exited; the car continued to struggle and is now parked due to safety concerns. O’reilly scan p0304 (cylinder 4 misfire). This occurred 12,703 miles after a dealer-performed tune-up (spark plugs x6) at cable dahmer cdjr (kansas city, mo). Same-day after that service I returned, reported drivability issues, and the dealer claimed ‘no problem. ’ in Feb 2025 they recommended spark plugs again; in March 2025 management emailed that my ‘tune-up appears it hasn’t been done yet’ (contradicting the invoice). The dealer now refuses to treat this as a continuation without a $199 diagnostic. Vehicle is not being driven due to safety concerns. -engine/ignition system-cylinder 4 misfire (spark plug/coil) causing loss of power at highway speed.

While driving my 2012 Dodge Charger at times it pops out of driving going into neutral. It happens when I'm on the hwy or in town. And the air bags has illuminated on the dash and it is at the dealership, and I was told, I have to pay for everything out of pocket. To replace it, popping out of gear while driving and the airbags. The dealership is not going to warranty anything because it's past. It does it off and on, and I don't know when it's going to happen. Popping in and out of gear. So I took it to the [xxx] 4025 cleveland blvd caldwell idaho. 83605. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Can not put car into park I have took it to normals dealership and referred to me that it's a recall issue.
Car was 1. 5 weeks old, purchased brand new. Had several electrical glitches in the days prior, which went away. Pulled into my son's little league game, and the car just started flashing all lights on the dash, then said 'service transmission'. Gear shifter flashing, could not put the vehicle into park or any gear, it was like tit was stuck between park and drive. Anyhow, here it is, in the shop already after 800 miles of ownership. Quite disappointed. Apparently this has been happening a lot to new Dodge Charger daytona ev owners. Extremely common.

Car is an electric vehicle. 3 times now, it has been unable to start (bricking) and requires towing to the nearest dealer. When attempting to start the vehicle, it flashes warnings about pulling over immediately and that the electrical system must be shut down. Should this occur while in motion, the brakes will immediately lock and present a hazard to nearby motorists and the driver. This is the 3rd time this issue has occurred, and dealers are unsure of what the fix could be. Numerous warning lights flashed across the screen each time the car would not turn on. Including but not limited warning illumination unavailable. Service required. Service electric vehicle system stop safely. Vehicle will shut off soon sos call unavailable. Please visit an authorized dealer.
The vehicle will display any number of warnings and then go into limp mode. The vehicle has been to the dealership 3 times to repair these issues but they have not been able to actually fix anything yet. The scariest aspect was the vehicle going into limp mode, but experiencing continued acceleration while not engaging either the accelerator or the brake pedal. There are numerous service bulletins and repair status issued by stellantis, but their dealer body does not know how to fix the cars. I feel like a stop sale should be ordered until they can get this under control. I'm also sure they won't be able to do the recall while the car is in service this time.
Shuts off while driving with no warning. . . Stalls at stop light/sign and when I try to accelerate it has barely goes. . Sometimes it seems like it has no power at all and sometimes it seems like it has to much power without me accelerating. Its very dangerous this issue has almost made me get into several accidents.

Unknown/. When press on brake car still moves. Also when put in parked car will move forward or backwards a few inches. Steering wheel does not feel right as if feels not secure when driving. When trying to go in right lane on freeway steering wheel was not all the way responding as if felt like it was loose and not connected to what pairs it’s spose to be. And almost crashed.
My Charger was a michigan state patrol vehicle all its maint. Kept up on and all recalls fixed and repaired properly, yet driving at 45mph and my front driveshaft gives out and ends up smashing off my transmission and transfer case and it hit and almost went through the passanger side floor board right under the passanger seat which if it had it would of messed my passanger up bad ,so now 12k + in repairs. Dodge has had multiple recalls over the years for this exact problem, so I guess its time for another one, idk how you can say the recall has been fixed on vehicle if it breaks exactly the same way, that means its not fixed. 06.
Vehicle entered sudden limp mode while merging onto freeway, reducing propulsion to ~30 mph and forcing driver to coast along shoulder. Dash displayed warning: “stop safely. Vehicle will shut off soon. ” multiple system faults appeared (regen, traction, collision fault, wrench light, turtle icon). Vehicle displayed uncommanded acceleration – continued driving without pressing throttle. Vehicles behind were forced to brake abruptly. The incident repeated 4 days later. Vehicle currently remains in dealership custody since may 30. Despite multiple attempts, stellantis engineers have not identified root cause. Possible defects involve throttle position sensor (tps), pedal module, 12v battery grounding, or motor actuator drift. Owner has had no consistent updates or defined fix. Problem remains active and unresolved. Vehicle is now undriveable due to unresolved risk of power loss during highway driving.

I repaired my drive shaft in may of 2024 and I am already having this problem again. It appears this is a common issue with this vehicle. My vehicle is a 2016 Dodge Charger. I paid $2000 to repair this the last time and am not happy that I am having the exact same problem again. It was repaired by Dodge, Jeep, Chrysler in springdale ohio (jake sweeney).

Unexpected vehicle movement from power train. I was changing my tire and the jack caused my vehicle body side to deform causing the vehicle to fall and nearly broke my leg.
I purchased my 2023 Dodge Charger scatpack 392 on July 22, 2024 and a week later I began to notice that each time I would backup and then shift into drive. There would be a 3 to 4 second delay in the transmission engaging with the drive shaft and when contact was made there's a hard thump that's felt throughout the car. I returned to the dealership and made a complaint about the issue I was having with the transmission and a transmission re-tune was done according to the service technician, but the problem is still persistent. I took it back to the dealership and was told by the service manager that Dodge is aware of the issue customers are having with the transmissions and have stated that the issue is due to fluid fiction and it's normal for the transmissions to respond that way. I don't believe that it's normal for a brand new car to shift that way. Plus it poses a massive safety risk for the driver and other people in the event that the car backs out into traffic and has to wait 3 to 4 seconds before the transmission engages that delay doesn't stop oncoming traffic and doesn't prevent a severe accident from occurring.
The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving 20 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact was able to pull over to the side of the road. The contact stated that the vehicle failed to shift into gear. The check engine and traction control warning lights were illuminated. The contact stated that upon turning off and restarting the vehicle, the vehicle operated as needed while driving at low speeds. The contact stated that the failure recurred several times while depressing the accelerator pedal to shift from first gear to a higher gear. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, where the contact was informed that there was no oil in the oil pan. The mechanic recommended an oil change and added oil to the vehicle. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed with major oil leak due to the oil filter housing failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 156,000.

I also have a drive shaft bearing that is completely destroyed. I have seen similar complaints on NHTSA. I took my car into a local shop for both front cv boots ripped and leaking. Upon inspection I was told the drive shaft also needed replaced, totaling over 3000+ to replace the drive shaft. The mechanic took a video of the bearing and it is indeed completely separated with the drive shaft moving very loose. With how may people are complaining about this part, and the recalls on drive shafts for certain vehicles, (unfortunately not this VIN) that it should be investigated. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Loud noise coming from where the center console should be. I thought it could be something wrapped around the drive shaft but instead the drive shaft carrier bearing needs replaced. You can't get a shop to buy just the part they have to replace the entire piece!.
Loud noise while driving vehicle due to driveshaft center support bearing damaged. Currently in the process of getting it repaired.
Transmission slippage when shifting from reverse to drive that causes a 2-3 second delay before transmission engages. Service manager at cannons (cdjr) in greenwood, ms advised that the cause of the slippage was due to fluid friction and that Dodge was aware of the issue, but hadn't issued a recall notice because they (Dodge) didn't know what was causing the problem with the transmission. The service manager advised me to just continue driving the car until further notice.
I started noticing a funny noise when turning to the right and when accelerating. Took it to community auto repair on 7/19/24. Below are their notes from inspection (I have attached the 1st pg of the inspection report stating this) test drive - noise inspection notes drive shaft carrier bearing is totally destroyed. Greg (owner) said that he had never seen one as bad as that before! he told me that it is dangerous to drive. If it completely breaks I could cause much more damage and can cause an accident. So I had to leave it in the shop over the weekend to be fixed on Monday. They are going to have to replace the whole drive shaft, which is $2000 +. The reason I am reporting this issue is because I would like it looked into. Greg said that it was nothing I did and it was most likely a defective part or a defect in how it was installed . He said he was surprised by how destroyed it was with how little miles I have on it. My car only has 37,000 miles on it! I saw that other Chargers of this year had recalls but my VIN was not included. But something seems odd with my car only having 37,000 miles on it and for the drive shaft bearing to be destoyed. Please look into this matter. Maybe my car should actually be part of the recall?.
Transmission is beginning to fail. I'm afraid it's gonna go out while driving just purchased car about 2 months ago and started noticing the transmission issue.
“following a $4,960 transmission repair at cable dahmer Chrysler Dodge (July 10,2024), my vehicle has experienced serious safety concerns: 1. Immediate transmission performance issues after dealer service 2. Vehicle now diagnosed with : oil leaking over transmission bell housing transmission slipping improper shifting, especially in reverse loose engine mount these issues create unsafe driving conditions as the vehicle: may not shift properly during critical driving situations could potentially stall or lose power while driving has compromised transmission function shows signs of potential transmission failure the dealership dismissed these safety concerns when reported immediately after their service. Vehicle’s condition has continued to deteriorate, making it unsafe for regular operation. “ “during operation, the vehicle: 1. Shows irregular shifting patterns 2. Has demonstrated unpredictable performance 3. Could potentially fail during operation 4. Leaking oil poses additional safety risks the dealership’s failure to properly address these issues after their service has left the vehicle in an unsafe condition for highway operation. “.
The transmission is completely out but the vehicle is fairly new. I saw that there is a recall on the transmission on some vehicles but I’m not sure if mine is on that list.
Unknown . Nothing appeared and there was no warning. Should I have been warned? there was no warnings or anything to prevent me from crashing except to make the best decision possible and crash into a less dangerous position.
The contact owns a 2021 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 60 mph, the engine warning light illuminated.
