Engine was ticking around 74k miles, it started off quiet and I was informed by a mechanic it should be fine as a lot of cars have a ticking sound. Couple thousand miles later the engine is nearly rattling and there's a thumping causing spaces of silence in the exhaust and there's also occasional hard shifting.

We purchased this vehicle new. Over time it started to surge on mild acceleration in all gears and all speeds. Dealership reset the transmission and engine computers. It was better but still noticeable. Over time though it gets worse. Dealership just does the same thing and resets the engine and transmission. This last time though it was still quite noticeable and has gotten much worse. We contacted the dealership and they plan to just reset them again as there is no other fix. The surging is unsafe especially in parking lots where you might be giving a little throttle and the car isn't really moving so you push harder and then it takes off.

Lifter failure is causing metal shavings from the cam to fall into the engine block and cause the engine to fail. This is a known problem with these cars and nothing is being done about it by the manufacturer.

The transmission in my car completely failed. I was driving home from work. The check engine light came on. Then I noticed the transmission wasn't changing gears. I also noticed a burning smell as well. I towed the vehicle to the dealership. They discovered the transmission fluid was burned due to over heating. The transmission was locked into 2rd gear. That happened at the end of September with about 59,000 miles. The warranty company sent the dealership a used transmission to dealership. On Monday November 27 while driving home, the transmission failed again. I put about 2,000 miles on the vehicle. For my understanding, this is a known issue with Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep/ram for the transmissions in their vehicles to fail. The manufacturer knows there's a problem. However, the manufacturer hasn't addressed the issue.
Intermittently the vehicle will jerk as if it looses power when driving, it has also happened when at a stop light and acceleration begins it jerks. It happens more often when at a complete stop and vehicle starts to accelerate. Vehicle was taken to melloy Dodge in los lunas nm and they stated they were unable to find a problem.
I keep having electrical problems with my my radio uconnect and my powertrain. I take great care of my car only let the dealership handle my issues. I've read online that there was a recall for Dodge Chargers powertrain, but I've never been notified.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that after stopping at a stop light, the brake pedal was released and the accelerator pedal was depressed to make a left turn however, the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was towed to the residence and then towed to the dealer to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the output shaft had failed, and the transmission and transfer case needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign number: 13v610000 (power train). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 124,000.
My 2006 Dodge Charger r/t hemi 5. 7 has experienced multiple breakdowns in my transmission. Come to find out it is actually a Mercedes Benz transmission. Replaced multiple times after getting towed multiple times for transmission going out. Totally unacceptable.

Service power steering warning comes on, causes my gauge cluster to go blank & dark, I lose a/c, power steering, headlights work intermittently, blinkers & all steering wheel button options stop working, and my transmission will start downshifting shifting erratically. It downshifts so hard I'm afraid I'll lose control of my car. Yesterday I had a message pop up saying it was going into power saving mode. When the power steering warning is on, my a/c will have half the vents blowing cold air, the other half blowing hot heater air. During the winter my heated seats only worked intermittently. All of these issues are related to the past recalls on my car that were supposedly fixed; however, the problems are still occurring. Can somebody please contact me about these recalls and tell me what I should do? thank you!.
My car has been making a loud rattling sound. I had it checked out today and the mechanic is reporting that it's the power train. I see that this is listed a frequent recall problem. My mechanic said that he's seen the same thing. This is going to be over $4000 in repairs that I really believe should be a recall problem if it's fallen under it for other vehicles.
On 3/10/2023 my vehicle suddenly starting trembling and shaking profusely! it terrified me severely. I immediately called my mechanic and it was towed in to be repaired. I was told it needed a tune- up. Towing, 3-direct ignition coils replaced, 6-spark plugs replaced and 1- fuel injection plenum gasket set replaced. Four weeks later on 4/16/2023 a warning sign of a backwards meeting parenthesis with a lightening bolt between to the two backwards parenthesis showed up on my warning lamp-electronic throttle control (etc) indicator symbol; causing my vehicle on shake, jump and stall as I was driving on 29s heading toward 70w towards baltimore to get home. I was able to drive to side of the road and my car completely stopped. A the horrific sounds of the traffic wizzed by me and my 12 year old child, I immediately called aaa, as we were in danger and severely terrified. We were finally picked up after 3 long hours!!!!! my car was the towed up the street from my home because the huge tow truck was unable to get directly in front of my door at that late hour. As I called aaa back the next morning to have my car towed to my mechanic shop, I was told I could only get 1 tow/ breakdown. I was totally in disbelieve after all we endured the evening/ night before. After explaining to a supervisor at aaa, she agreed that we had such a horrible experience the night before and adjusted the policy to accommodate my vehicle to be towed to my mechanic for repairs. This time, my fuel pump needed to be replaced and it has been. My vehicle still feels hesitate in its acceleration and as of today my engine light is on on my warning panel. I have been contacted by a nhts recall team agent and have been scheduled for an appt.
My ac was working decent, not how it should be, when I first got the vehicle. Now, the ac just blows warm air, no recirculation for feet setting. I am getting the code p0741 and it doesn't change.
My oil cooler is cracked and leaking tons of oil. Upon further research this is a very common problem in there engines because of faulty engine design. Why is there no recall for the faulty engine oil cooler in the Dodge Charger 2014. Most Dodge Chargers experience an oil leak from a cracked oil cooling unit but there has been no recall? an oil cooler is meant to last the entire life of a car how is Dodge allowed to get away with this when they have not addressed the faulty oil cooler assembly in any recalls?.

This problem first appeared on 2/1/23. After driving the vehicle and I park, when I place the car shifter in park and press the push to start button to turn off the car, the car shuts off but the start button stays in acc mode and will not go to off mode option no matter how many times you press it. The vehicle will go from acc then to start only. The warning lights display on the dash saying, service shifter, vehicle not in park and traction light appears then shows service airbag. The vehicle is in park but the push button will not allow it to go into off mode. It will stay on acc. The only two options are acc and start. The vehicle believes the car is not in park but it is. No matter what you do it will not go into off mode. The only way to temporarily put it in off is to disconnect the battery. When you start the car again, it will turn on but when it's time to turn the vehicle off it will repeat the same problem and stay in acc and will not allow it to be pushed into off mode this has not been inspected by the manufacturer, dealer or insurance company yet. In my research of the problem other Dodge charges have the same issue. Safety issue is not being able to turn the car off completely. Unknown of other safety risks.

Vehicle will shift into neutral while driving while the gear shift is still in drive. This happens multiple times throughout the week with speeds varying from 35-50 mph. I have not noticed if the road condition makes a difference, I have gone downhill, up hill, around corners, etc and it will randomly shift into neutral. I cannot recreate the issue, it just happens at random.
Got rear ended day later hears a winding noise and engine light came on then battery light came on. When driving next day all lights on dash board came on and car died. Thought was battery changed it then restarted car. Next day bring to get diagnosed and said altnator was testing bad so had that replaced but battery light stayed on. Took to collision center Dodge and they said pcm was bad so had that replaced. The mechanic stated common problem when altnator dies it burns up the pm module. So I had to wait 2 months for it to get replaced and now changed still the check engine lights and battery light is on.

I was driving my 2017 Dodge Charger one day and the light came on service shifter . Then the clutch was making this ticking noise after a couple days he went off . Then one day I got in my car and the car shut off went the lights and windshield wipers come on by it self and the car wouldn’t crank at all . By the way the car cut off in the middle of the road . I goes to abby Dodge and they charge me a 1,038 dollars to fix the shifter . A couple days later the car says replace shifter again . Then it goes off . Then 8 months later my car does it again . The light comes back on and says service shifter . I had appointment with Dodge again on August 25 and I took my car there . They claim they replace my shifter . Now my car did want do anything it would crank or anything .

Loud belt squealing during a turn followed by "battery saver mode" message which then turned into smoke under the hood.
The center carrier support bearing is defective. As I look online on how to repair it I see numerous occasions of this happening in similar cars as mine. This part allows the drive shaft to not move up and down. When the center support bearing is defective and pops out of place it allows the drive shaft to move up and down. Which ruins other parts of the drive shaft and transfer cases. Dodge needs to be held responsible for their faulty part.
The drive shaft on my Charger started to make a clicking noise. At 56,694 miles I had to replace the drive shaft at an independent garage because the Dodge dealer could not see my car for 3 weeks. The drive shaft is at the garage and available for inspection. I called Dodge for any compensation, and they said they would not provide any.
My Dodge Charger has 4 codes I can't figure out and one is a is a manufacturer code that popped up and lost connection to tcm and something to do with the fuel.
Car has strong smell of gas inside. Seeing by the other reports here that there is a regular problem with the fuel pump causing this issue. Is a safety hazard for obvious reasons. Drive shaft failed last year at less than 60,000 miles, but luckily had it replaced under dealership warranty. Others have not been so lucky, as I can see in these reports. Like tons of other reports here, door panels are also warping and disconnecting from the inside of the car. A completely cheap and poor design, and am shocked to see that nearly every problem I've experienced with this car is commonly experienced by other owners of this car. No idea how there haven't been more recalls, it's criminal that owners of this vehicle are left to foot the bill (thousands of $$$) for all of its defects.
The contact owns a 2014 Dodge Charger. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the power steering module failed with several unknown warning lights displayed. The contact took the vehicle to the dealer and was provided a video by the dealer which showed various defects with her vehicle. The contact agreed only to the power steering module repair. After the repair, the contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would enter limp mode with the service engine warning light illuminated. The dealer was notified about the failure and the contact was provided a diagnostic fee to have the vehicle diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.
Transmission broke down. Am unable to put vehicle in reverse and it stays stuck in low gear. Slipping of rear tires. Dodge dealer as transmission failure and needs to replace the entire transmission, oil cooler and oil lines. There were no warning signs that the transmission was going out. No lights, lamps or any symptoms showed up prior.
Almost caused a accident because coming to a fast braking my wheels were uncontrollable and swerving .
When the car is parked and I engage the shifter from park to drive the car is making a clicking and thumping sound and it’s the same when I shifted from drive to reverse.
Driving home from work when my vehicle lost control, when trying to steer my steering wheel straight the rear end of my vehicle locked up and ended up in a guard rail , there was nothing in the road or any pedestrian or other cars I have no idea what caused my car to lock up but I don’t know what caused my car to lock up I know when my sales guys first go over my car he didn’t fully mention everything to me I saw my tires pressure at 50 psi in all days didn’t know if that was normal because my car was shipped so I know the dealership is suppose to inspect vehicle to make sure everything is correct to manufacturer specs when vehicle was towed to certificate shop for body and mechanic repairs car sat there 8 months plus when I got the car it was not driving the same and reading a message on the screen service sifter unavailable ever since then my vehicle is unsafe to drive my car now locks up when I do a turn like it get stuck in a gear and when cruising vehicle chocks/hesitated to drive like it was to get stuck in a lock mode . I took it to 2 Dodge dealers more then 3 times and can’t duplicate concern and throwing random parts at my car and I’m telling them it’s not the problem also they gave me poor customer service and wish I never bought a car from them .
The issue with the vehicle is inconsistent and delayed power delivery. On numerous occasions, when trying to accelerate quickly in low gears (1 through 3), the vehicle exhibits an obvious restriction and/or lack of thrust. The vehicle does accelerate (sometimes poorly with hesitation) and the rpm's climb, but the power is severely reduced until 4500 rpm, then the power comes on strong without any change in throttle position or gear. The issue can best be described as feeling like you are towing something heavy with a rope, and at 4500 rpm, the rope breaks and the resistance is lifted. I have had it to multiple dealers, I have reproduced it, but both ran full analysis and it is "performing as designed". Both me and the dealer contacted the manufacturer and was told if there are no diagnostic errors, it is fine. There is no code or message. I have found at least 10 other owners of various vehicle models from Chrysler with the same engine and transmission combo that have the same issue. The 5. 7 litre hemi v8 and the zf8hp70 8 speed automatic transmission. There is no way to know it is going to happen. One minute it accelerates normally, the next it doesn't. It does not pose imminent danger, but it has put me in a precarious position more than once when entering a highway or pulling out into traffic and not knowing how much acceleration power I am going to have. It reduces confidence in the vehicle because of the inconsistency. The issue did not start occurring until the vehicle reached approx. 2100 miles. I also owned a 2020 version of the car that did the same thing after approx. 4000 miles. I traded it in on the 2021 because I thought there was no way they all ran this way, but apparently they do.
Service shifter error and powerstwering warning light turned on.
All four axles and spindle nuts are literally decaying and crumbling. Its to the point the guy at the tire shop said its not safe. Being a awd vehicle it puts a lot of strain on the hubs. The car only has 65,000 miles on it.
