Ball bearings had to be replaced because they were dry, loose, and worn out according to the independent mechanic. Wheel would have come off the truck while driving if not replaced in time.

While driving my Dodge 1500 quad cab it wanders all over the road making it difficult and uncomfortable to drive. It pulls to the right bad in the right lane and bad to the left in the left lane even after alignment. Consults with the dealer have only yielded that it is normal for that type of suspension. I have had no luck getting this resolved and driving other similar Dodge ram's I have found that it is not "normal".

Problem with truck since brand new, pulls hard to left. Dealer has replaced tires, all front end parts and aligned. You have to keep constant pull on steering wheel to right to keep it from crossing median. Back to dealer seven times.

While brakes are applied at any speed there is vibration in steering column. There is also a noise coming from steering column during acceleration. Dealership has made no determination as to a cause for this problem. Please provide any additional information / attachments.

Tire center indicates that tow end throws alignment out and wears the tire tread out. The consumer has gone through 4 sets of tires in 40,000 miles. Tire technician says problem is inherent with Dakota trucks.

Daimler Chrysler advertised and sold the Dakota r/t vehicles as having a 6400 lb. Towing capacity. They have now downgraded this towing capacity to 2000 lbs. Many of these vehicles are being used to tow considerably more than 2000 lbs. This appears to be a severe safety hazard.

The manufacturer sent of a change that dropped tow rating from 6400lbs to 2000lbs on the r/t models. They give no reason for the change. Think it is important to know this information.

Vehicle handles poorly,wanders,no feel to steering. Has been back to dealer several times. Dealer has stated that manufacturer is aware of problem but hasen't come up with a solution. Vehicle is very difficult to drive,very hard to keep going in a straight line,and to stay in the right lane. I don't feel that Dodge is doing all that it can to remedy this situation. I am planning a trip to alaska pulling a fifth wheel trailer next summer and do not feel that it would be safe to do so with this vehicle.
