1 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2016 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/03/2019

"takara recall" I started noticed squeaking when pressing the breaks. This automatically making me assume that my brakes/brake pads were going bad. I took it to a local shop and after checking it out they suggested the brakes were fine and that I needed to take it to the dealership. Before I was able to do so, I had complete brake failure. I was attempting to come to a stop when the brake pedal was pressed all the way down and the vehicle was not slowing nor were the brakes catching. Thus resulting in an accident. The Dart is a total loss. My life as well as my children's lives were put in danger. All airbags deployed and another vehicle was hit as well.

2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 06/12/2019

Tl the contact owned a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the brake rotors and brake pads were faulty. As a result, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when depressed and the stopping distance increased. Also, while driving more than 50-60 mph, the vehicle shook when the brake pedal was depressed and the check engine indicator lluminated. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact's insurance company deemed the vehicle unable to be driven and discontinued the insurance because the VIN kept being associated with recalls. The failure mileage was 86,000.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 02/18/2019

Over the past month, braking action is declining. They have become stiff and must be depressed quite hard to stop. The brake pads, upon inspection, are almost brand new and there is no grinding. Several mechanics have suggested the brake booster as a possible issue. Upon my own research, this appears to be a very common issue with this vehicle. Thousands of 2013-2014 Dodge Darts were recalled to replace the brake booster, although the 2015 has not. I'm very concerned that eventually, the brakes will worsen or fail as has happened with many others who own this same vehicle, as written on several internet forums.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The dealer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 36,000.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/23/2018

About two to three weeks ago my breaks completely went out. I was driving and all of a sudden my foot was to the ground and my car was barely stopping. Took it to a shop and they told me my break line snapped and the fluid contaminated my breaks. Needed to replace everything on the front end (breaks, pads, break line, etc. ) fast forward to about two weeks agoi'm backing out of a driveway onto a main, super busy road, I shift into drive and my car dies. I press the gas and my car won't move. I had to turn my car off and on again in the middle of traffic to get it to start up. This happened again a couple days later as I was backing out of my own driveway. Backed out perfectly fine, put it into drive and it dies. Won't move when you press on the gas. Turn the car off and then back on and it drives again. Finally, today (August 23) I backed out of my driveway and put it in drive. Nothing bad happened then, but as I was coming up to a light and slowing down to turn, my cars battery light comes on and it won't go faster when I hit the gas. I pull into the auto repair shop that was there (thankfully) stopped the car and turned it off. When I tried to start it this time, it wouldn't start. I gave the guys at the shop my keys and info and just got a call that my car had no oil and they think it shut down to a safety feature. But my car was telling me I still had a 23% oil life. There were no warnings prior to the car shutting down. I do not feel safe in this car anymore, especially since I use it to deliver in and I commute to school. I never know when the next time it's going to stall out. And I don't want to get into an accident. Especially when I'm on the clock at work.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 04/18/2016

The Darts breaks started to flutter and then feel warped. Upon remove the rotors were imperfect based on poor quality molding/casting. The backside of the rotors have gouges where they have rusted but the break pads have never touched and in some areas the casting looks like it pooled and cooled different then the rest of the rotors. . . Very cruddy and nasty across the rotors. The car started the issue when it only had 10k on it and it now has 17. 5k and is getting worst.
