1 Brake Light On problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/21/2018

The problem with the vehicle is that the clutch pedal goes straight to the floor and stays there, the only way to get it to the up position is to reach down or use your foot. The master cylinder of the brake system was below the minimum line. No brake warning light or any other warning/caution. The clutch went to the floor. The incident happened I was on a 7 lane city street during rush hour traffic I was driving and everything was normal. I was the first vehicle in line when I try to start going the clutch felt like it was slipping in first gear which is highly unusual for my vehicle because first gear has always been very touchy. . Shift to second gear in the clutch once again was slipping and the engine reved the vehicle did not accelerate properly. I was able to get it to go and I made it to the next traffic light. I was the second car from the intersection. When the light turned green I released the clutch and the gear engaged imeadiatly with the gear in first, the vehicle lurched forward and kept doing that about three times until the vehicle stalled out. Pushing in the clutch pedal did nothing it's stay stuck to the floor. In the mirror I see that the vehicle behind me almost ran into me and almost caused a huge pile up behind me because of the hesitation of my vehicle I was not able to move the vehicle out of the lane without help from a fellow citizen that was dangerous in itself. Once I got the vehicle to a safe place pushing it I checked under the hood and I see that the brake fluid reservoir on the master cylinder was empty. I check the fluids in my vehicle at least twice a week . Where did all that fluid go? I have been without my vehicle for a week or two now due to trying to figure out what to do because the car has 40, 000 miles on it so its out of warranty.

3 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

I purchased this car used from a kia dealer. I haven't even had it one month yet. While driving one day backing out of a parking space my brakes would not stop. I went to push down on them and it felt like I was trying to push down a brick. It wouldn't budge. You could hear air as you hit the brake but nothing else. A brake light popped up on the screen followed by a car with a swirly line behind it. I almost backed into someone and almost wrecked my car. Thank god my kids weren't with me and no one was hurt.

4 Brake Light On problem of the 2014 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 08/21/2016

First incident occurred as I was driving down the road at about 35 mph my brake light sensor turned on; without the brake being pushed or emergency brake being on. Pulled over placed the vehicle in park and shut it off. Turned the car back on and the light no longer appeared. As I was reversing out of my drive way I applied brakes, my vehicle didn't stop I pulled the emergency brake that didn't stop the vehicle either. Upon pushing the brake it seemed "seemed stuck" unable to push it down all the way. I was able to change my gear into drive and tried to push the brakes in however, my car failed to stop until I placed my car in park and applied the emergency brake.

8 Brake Light On problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/28/2015

When son attempted to leave parking lot, there was a medium "chunk" noise and the brakes didn't seem to work at all until he stomped really hard on the pedal. He drove his 8 miles home slowly, giving lots of braking room as every time he hit the brakes a hissing noise and very little brake response was given even when depressing the brake as hard as he could. When my husband drove it into the shop, he said it was like there were no longer power steering brakes. The brake booster was replaced, under warranty still, and since my son stepped so hard on the brake, he actually broke the brake pedal assembly as well, which caused the brake lights to stay on all the time even when the car was turned off. All that was replaced under warranty, too.
