1 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 10/28/2019

Tl the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Dart. The contact stated that the brake pedal started to make noises when depressed. Lithia Chrysler Jeep Dodge of medford (4540 grumman dr, medford, or 97504, (541) 930-3023) diagnosed that the brake cylinder fluid was leaking and it was only a matter of time before the brakes would fail. The mechanic recommended that the vehicle not be driven until it was repaired. The vehicle was repaired per an unknown recall in March of 2017 and the entire braking system was replaced because engine oil was leaking into the system. The manufacturer had not been contacted. The failure mileage was 99,000. The VIN was unknown.

2 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/27/2019

I was leaving a very busy parking lot after shopping, I proceeded to the exit and went to stop at the four way. When I pushed on the brakes they where very hard and not stopping me, there was a air sound coming from them and the pedal started pushing back at me. I checked to see if there was fluid leaking or if my rims had brake fluid, of course there was nothing and the fluid container was almost full. I see there are plenty of others that have had the same experience this should be a recall this is a huge safety concern when you have your young child in the car and plenty of other families driving on the roads.

3 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 03/20/2018

Before starting vehicle, clutch pedal goes straight to floor and has to be pulled back up into position. Problem occurs multiple times a week. After clutch is pumped a few times, it regains pressure and is able to be driven. Vehicle has less than 35,000 miles but is over the 5 year warranty. Extended warranty will cover it with a $100 deductible. Dealership advised that I will probably have to pay for a clutch replacement even though there is an extended warranty/ known issue on the master cylinder and hydraulic fluid leaking throughout clutch components. Also had the turbo and exhaust manifold gasket replaced at 20,000 miles after check engine light kept coming on and vehicle lost power. At one point the check engine light came on and the vehicle lost almost all power while trying to merge onto I-95 in washington DC, almost causing me to be rear ended by another vehicle. It took 4 trips to the dealership for the problem to be recreated and eventually fixed under warranty. The emergency brake stopped working at about 15,000 miles but I was told that my vehicle was not one affected by the caliper recall. Paid for caliper replacement out of pocket. Lots of problems with this car, but dealership keeps telling me they "cannot replicate the issue".

4 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2015 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 09/24/2016

Brake lines popped leaking fluid on ground and the tire pressure sensor has been on for a long time and I keep getting told that I just need to drive it.

5 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 07/11/2015

Came up to a stop light my brakes went clearly to the floor board. The car was not stopping. Ran the red light, and brakes started to work again. Pulled into my place of employment which was right next to the stop light. Brakes went out again. Brake fluid just poured out after it was put in.

6 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 05/22/2015

My son was driving and he parallel parked so he could run into a store. I stayed in the car. When he returned he put it in gear and signalled to pull out. Suddenly, there was a loud popping sound and what sounded like air whooshing out of the brake pedal. He attempted to apply the brake and he said it felt like something was stopping it from going down. In fact, he immediately stopped and got out of the car to check. Every time he attempted to depress the pedal, it made the air sound again. Fortunately, we were only a couple of blocks from home. We drove slowly, running stop signs and using the e-brake and downshifting when necessary. Called the dealer. They sent a flat deck to pick it up. They tell us that fluid leaked into the brake booster. Our new car is now in the shop for who knows how long. We bought a new car so these kinds of things wouldn't happen. Now we are carless, with a busy, full work week for us both coming up. My husband requires a reliable car for his work. What is Dodge going to do to reimburse us for the inconvenience and potential danger they put us in with this defect?.

7 Brake Fluid Leak problem of the 2013 Dodge Dart

Failure Date: 04/24/2015

The brake system shut down at 50 mph, I feared for my life it is one of the scariest things I have ever dealt with, I am lucky I am able to write this letter to you. The problem according to dayton andrews is that the master cyclinder fluid leaked into the brake booster, which eventually needed to be replaced. I was told my Dodge warranty expired at 36,000 yet there was 36,920 on the car. This was most definitely a recall or an issue that should have been covered under the Dodge warranty. No normal car at 36,920 has that happen until there was initial problems with the car.
