Car failing to start. Stating vehicle not in park while actually being in park. Also vehicle states that engine is warming wait to start no matter the temperature outside. Waited this morning for 2hrs for the vehicle to start it did not start. This is an emergency hazard for a vehicle to not start due to a computer issue. The current recall I attempted to go to the manufacturer however the manufacturer hasn’t formed a remedy to resolve the issue yet.

I am submitting this complaint regarding my 2015 Dodge Dart sxt with an active safety recall that currently has no available remedy. My vehicle experienced failure related to the recall issue, resulting in the vehicle becoming inoperable and requiring repair. At the time of failure, I was informed that the official recall remedy was not yet available and that the necessary part was on backorder. Because no recall remedy was available, I was forced to pay out of pocket to repair the vehicle in order to restore operability. I also incurred significant rental vehicle expenses while my car remained in the repair shop awaiting parts. I contacted stellantis/Dodge customer care multiple times requesting assistance or reimbursement related * the repair costs associated with the recall-related failure, and * rental expenses incurred while the vehicle was out of service. My requests were denied, and the matter was repeatedly categorized as an “out-of-warranty” issue despite my concern specifically involving an active safety recall with no available remedy at the time of failure. I am concerned about: * the lack of an available recall remedy, * the financial burden placed on consumers when a recall-related failure occurs before a remedy is available, * extended delays due to backordered parts, and * the absence of transportation assistance or reimbursement for affected consumers. I am requesting that this complaint be documented and reviewed as a recall-related consumer safety and financial hardship issue.

The failure mileage was approximately 176,000.

During a recent dealership visit for recall work and an oil change, a potential issue was identified involving improper fluid presence. On April 16, 2026, I brought my 2015 Dodge Dart to ewald Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram for recall work and an oil change. Upon pickup, I immediately noticed a strong burning smell. Service representative austin told me this was normal due to the recall work performed. On April 17, I began hearing new clinking noises from the engine that were not present before this visit. On April 18, an independent mechanic observed red fluid consistent with automatic transmission fluid rather than normal engine oil. I have photos and video documenting this finding. I returned to the dealership, where a second oil change was performed. I also have video showing dark oil being removed only two days after the first oil change. The dealership denied wrongdoing and stated the vehicle arrived in that condition. No warning lights or similar symptoms existed before the April 16 service visit. All symptoms began immediately afterward. Incorrect or contaminated fluid can cause inadequate lubrication of engine components, overheating, engine damage, or sudden mechanical failure while driving, creating a safety risk to myself and others. The dealership has denied responsibility and refused to provide requested service records. Due to this experience, I no longer trust the dealership to further inspect or repair my vehicle. Should any engine damage arise as a direct result of incorrect fluid used during this service visit, the dealership should be held fully responsible for all repair costs.

I received a safety recall on my vehicle in October, and it is now almost February and there is still no remedy. This safety recall is the transmission shift cable a0c. The recall states: "this can cause an unexpected and unrecoverable loss of park function and/or vehicle movement in an unintended direction which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning and/or injury to others outside the vehicle. " this is putting myself and others at risk. The dealership has confirmed the issue and has no remedy. They informed me to wait for the remedy. My vehicle has been developing the symptoms of this recall for about 3 years. The key gets stuck in the ignition, the car does not go into or out of park easily, it sticks. After I park my car rolls backwards. My vehicle does not feel like its in park. The shifter has become stiff and does not want to move. The form says " do not drive" on mopars official recall. I do not feel safe driving this car.

Vehicle is consuming oil, stalling, milage blinking, radio goes out, key switch will not turn to off, not going into park, oil pan bolts backing off, brakes shimmy over 55, list goes on, still no fix for the recall.

I came home from work, (drove 18 miles) and parked, walked towards my building and I heard a noise, as if something turned on under the hood. Like a electrical motor spinning. And it was not the fan because that one had already turned off. I walk back to the car and pop the hood, white smoke starts coming out and in less than 2 minutes a huge flame comes straight out from the passenger side of the hood. Called the fire department. Fire was on for 4 minutes, neighbor mechanics came running with fire extinguishers and put out the fire before the firefighters arrived. Too many parts melted and damaged. So far estimate is at $4,000. I do not have the estimate on paper, since at the moment I did not have budget to fix my car. My car was perfectly fine, services got done regularly. Never had issues other than wear and tear. I've had that car for almost 10 years.

I have an open safety recall that has no available fix. My dealership confirmed they cannot repair it and advised me it may be unsafe. Because I cannot safely operate the vehicle, I am requesting a manufacturer buyback or financial assistance toward a replacement vehicle. Please escalate this to a case manager.

The transmission shift cable does not work on the vehicle and will not shift out of gear, unable to use vehicle due to the break in the cable.

On [xxx], at 5 pm, at [xxx] , the vehicle went into park, but showed as reverse, and the key was unable to be removed, or turn the electrical system off, or place the vehicle in park. I contacted the general insurance company roadside assistance; a tow truck was dispatched. It took several hours, 2-3 hrs. For the driver to arrive. He stated he was familiar with phillips cjdr, and new exactly where and how to leave the vehicle. I removed all personal effects for safety and security. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, the temperature gauge indicated that the engine was overheating, and the contact was able to pull over to the shoulder of the roadway, where the vehicle failed to restart. The contact pulled over and was unable to activate the parking brake. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed the vehicle with engine failure. The contact was informed that the engine needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure reoccurred. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 13v124000 (parking brake); however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 130,000.

Vehicle has active safety recall a0c/NHTSA 25v-674 for transmission shift cable, but the manufacture states remedy is not yet available. Recall notice was recived in October 2025, and no repair has been offered. Vehicle is now experiencing worsening symptoms including transmission slipping/skipping gears and shutting off while driving. Most recently vehicle begun overheating and heater started blowing hot air that can not be turned off. Vehicle has lost center screen/radio system with backup camera. It has gone blank and is no longer functioning dealership advised there is no available fix and offered a rental per owners expense which is not financially feasible. Vehicle is unsafe to drive, especially with a young child who regularly rides in vehicle. Manufacture has failed to remedy this safety recall in a timely manner.

Hello my car has so many safety and risks the engine electric and transmission very dangerous please help.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 25v674000 (power train). The contact stated that while turning off the vehicle, the key was difficult to remove from the ignition. The gear shifter was in park(p); however, the ignition switch remained stuck in the acc position. Several attempts were required before the key could be released. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer to be diagnosed, and the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure recurred after the repair. The check engine warning light and the power train warning light were illuminated. The failure reoccurred over time. The manufacturer was contacted, but provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 115,000.

On 3/18/26 I reported a serious safety issue involving my vehicle, which currently has an open manufacturer recall with no available remedy. The vehicle has experienced multiple dangerous and malfunctioning conditions. First, the vehicle intermittently displays a dashboard message indicating that the vehicle is "not in park" even when it is clearly in the park position. When this occurs, I am unable to turn the vehicle off. I have had to wait approximately 15 minutes before the vehicle will allow me to shut it down. Second, while driving at approximately 40 mph, including while exiting the highway, the vehicle has stalled and completely shut off while in motion. This has occurred multiple times and created a significant safety risk due to sudden loss of power during active driving. Additionally, the vehicle frequently displays a message stating "engine warming, please wait to start," even when weather conditions are warm. Most recently, at approximately 70 degrees outside, the vehicle would not start and continued to display the message. I waited approximately one hour attempting to start the vehicle before it randomly started. These issues appear to be worsening. I attempted to schedule repair for the open recall, but I was advised by the manufacturer that there is currently no remedy available. Due to the vehicle stalling in motion and preventing proper shutdown and startup, I believe this represents a serious safety defect that puts me and others at risk. The vehicle previously experienced stalling while driving in motion. I brought the vehicle in for a recall repair on 01/27/25. #u90 2014-2016 at davis moore after the recall repair, the stalling condition improved; however, the vehicle began experiencing additional serious issues including the vehicle not recognizing the park position, inability to shut off, and intermittent failure to start with "engine warming" messages. These ongoing defects continue to affect the safe and reliable operation of the vehicle.

The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Dart. The contact stated while the vehicle was being serviced at jiffy lube, the mechanic became aware that coolant was leaking from the engine onto the radiator. The vehicle was then taken to aamco where it was diagnosed that the valve cover gasket was leaking oil into the engine and onto the transmission. The mechanic also informed the contact that there was a cord hanging from the bottom of the vehicle but could not determine where the cord needed to be connected. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 148,000.

Hello. My complaint is on the motor mounts, the oem factory/manufacturer ones that car dealers service/replace. Long story short, in 1 year and 3 months’ timeframe, my motor mounts have been replaced not once, nor twice, but three times. It runs the risks of damaging my motor/engine internally and is a safety hazard on the road. The first replacement (August 2023) was due to broken motor mounts and about 4-5 mounts got replaced. Eight months later (April 2024), the second incident was due to ‘faulty oem parts’ quoted by my car dealer who services my vehicle. They replaced 2-3 mounts. This third incident (October-November 2024) is on a six-month old install, still oem parts. I had the left motor mount replaced after my engine started to sound like it was about to fall apart; hence, the safety risk of an engine failing, falling apart, or falling off/out the vehicle while on the road. After this third replacement, the Dodge dealer recommended that I file a recall report because they were concerned about the risks and damage caused by all of the motor mounts my car has seemingly been violated from. When researching if this problem is just my car or not, I came across a Dodge forum where many Dodge Dart owners of years 2013-2016 have had these motor mount issues. All have said that this should be a recall, and frankly I agree, because replacing motor mounts every 6-8 months is not only ridiculous, but concerning at the amount of risk. I did the math and in the span of 1. 5 years and 12,169 miles, my mounts have been replaced at least three times by laird noller Ford and briggs Dodge. I attached all documents plus the carfax of one replacement that I couldn’t find the document. There is other parts damaged because of these motor mounts also pictured. When will it stop?.

In addition, there was an abnormal sound coming from the engine. The contact stated that while starting the vehicle, the abnormal sound was heard. The check engine warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic; however, no cause for the failure was found. The contact stated that the spark plugs, ignition coils, catalytic converter, and oxygen sensors were replaced. The failure persisted and had progressively worsened. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The vehicle was diagnosed with dtc: p0304 (misfire in cylinder #4). The contact was informed that the catalytic converter was turning red from overheating. The contact stated that there was an abnormal fuel odor coming from the engine and entering the vehicle through the a/c vents. The contact was informed that the air fuel ratio was off due to an imbalance. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.

The transmission bushing broke and the transmission was disabled. The steering wheel was locked and the key was unable to be removed. The safety of the driver and passenger were at harm on the highway when steering was disabled and the transmission could not be moved after stopping. The problem was produced and was forced to be repaired by a shop for the safety of the driver at expense of the driver. The vehicle was then brought to a Dodge dealership in margate florida, where the recall was closed, the issue was not fixed. The vehicle broke down immediately following this closure of the recall. The vehicle was inspected and claimed to be repaired by a Dodge dealership. This is not true. No warning lamps indicated this issue happening once of the two times it broke down.

The vehicle history does not show any type of accidents. The vehicle history says that the vehicles airbags are in tact. In reviewing my contract from the dealership there is a page that states the vehicle has no airbags. The airbags not being present means the have been deployed due to a collision, right? im concerned that the vehicle is not the vehicle aligned with the VIN. Visually inspecting the physical VIN sticker it has rips and is torn is some places. The odometer is always blinking. I am concerned that it may have been altered. Took it in for a alignment at a shop, but the shop said the could not complete the alignment.

My car has an extremely bad rough idle. I’ve had an alignment done, new tires, new spark plugs. I’ve done so much work to this car. I have done some extremely deep research and it is a very common issue in the 2013 Dodge Dart. One thing I also read, is it could be caused due to all of the ground point nuts being painted over, not creating a strong circuit for the ground. That should be a recall because I cannot physically replace all of those nuts. If that’s not the issue, there needs to be an investigation to figure out why this car feels like it will stall out, or I’m going to lose a tire going 65 on the interstate. Something isn’t right with this car and the dealership needs to diagnose it for free knowing it’s such a common issue! I have a very trusted, fully certified mechanic, he has looked at my car, and he is stumped too. No one can figure this out.

The car keeps stalling and several scans, thousands into repairs to include the dealership itself. I’m convinced that it’s one of the recalls power train and engine keeps randomly stalling. This is a huge safety concern that will result in an accident. It happens after start up, at stop lights and signs and randomly throughout driving. I don’t feel safe and I’m taking it back to the dealership to do the job right .

I have a warning light on my car for p1065 and p1061 codes. These two codes comes and go away on their own. It usually occurs after starting the car and driving it for a few minutes. This causes the car to shake and slow down suddenly in the middle of the road. The car stops to shake only when I shut it off and turn it back on right away. Another issue is that my car key get stuck in the ignition sometimes after shutting it ofand I have to wait a few seconds for the key to come off or press the button on the gearshift handle a few times to make it come out. I wonder if this is related to the transmission shift cable bushing safety recall repair that was done a few years ago on Dodge Dart vehicles lastly, I have been getting the "parking light out" warning messages on my car dashboard but all the light appears to be working fine. I have looked up these issues online and they appear to be common problems faced by Dodge Dart owners.

The car has a mind of its own but now it's a constant problem. I will be trying to go and it's like it shift to nuetural and I loose all powers so I keep pushing gas tell it does something. So I don't cause a accident. When this happens the middle screen where shows speed and stuff like reboots . It will also sometimes say gear not availiable. There is no warning lights on. I try not to drive unless I have to because it dangerous if the. Car does not give trouble backing our of my house it will do fine. And if it has trouble backing out of driveway it won't stop loosing power any time I have to stop or slow down. I did have 1 recall done last year when I left dealer ship it worked fine for like 7 days and back to doing the same thing. The vechicle is availiable for inspection I'm going to take it back to Dodge because it's going to kill me and others.

The ecm/throttle positioning system has been faulting for a while and only getting worse causing the car to just randomly steal with no power. Usually can shut off and restart car and itll be good for 1 min - 30 min you never really know. I got stranded in the middle of the highway and couldn't start my car after it died while driving down the road.

The Dodge Dart has a malfunction that might have contributed in many crashes this car has been involved in. The issue is that some Darts will experience a malfunction where the lights inside the car will randomly flicker (should they be on), digital dash will also flicker and navigation screen will either restart or just shut off. The biggest problem in all of this is that the power steering will always temporarily shut off and make it extremely hard to steer the car for a few seconds and this can happen during turns. The reset can also happen many times in a row forcing the power steering to be shut down for multiple seconds longer than the avg like 5-8 seconds. Within that reset all lights on the dash will flick on and off and if you have cruise control on, it will shut off permanently until you restart the car. Sometimes the reset doesn't successfully turn on and the navigation will remain off indefinitely and will blast hot air into your cabin forcing you to park and restart your car. If your Dart slows down to a stop the power steering will shut off forcing you to attempt to park your car with an extremely stiff power steering or you can restart your car for a chance to regain some assitance from the ps. Sometimes putting the car in reverse shuts off the car. The issue that the car displays when these errors occur is "service power steering" or "service electronic braking system" weird request when the braking is just fine. Dealership cannot diagnose this issue because the codes seemingly clear themselves as if nothing has ever happened. I have found a few others with similar issues to mine on reddit as well as the Dodge Dart forums. This issue also happens at random. There isn't a trigger or requirement for it to happen. You can be sitting at a parking lot with the car on in park and it might just reset itself for no reason and give you a stiff wheel.

The transmission is completely faulty. The transmission modular that was recalled I replaced that already. The transmission needs to be replaced completely. I've found articles that the Dodge Chrysler had recalled transmissions for the same year make and model. I want to have it replaced with a new one. Cadillac converter.

The transmission gear is notb shiftingb and the car is cutting off oin the freeway and also at stop signs and stop lights. Oil changes and transmission fluids have been checked and changed problem still happening.

I was driving in the interstate and out of no where my car starts to make aloud noise and breaks down. At this point the car begins to read “service transmission. ” and is no longer to switch between gears. The shifter cable bushing failed and detached from the transmission.

Message warm engine before start. Car won’t start message key fob damaged when it’s not. Engine clicks but no engine turn over.

Actuator in the engine making the valve stuck and not drivable, causes shaking, very poor acceleration, won’t shift, this started last summer, engine light bringing up actuator code.

I was driving the other day dropping off food for a customer and as I shifted my car from park to drive it wouldn’t change gears. Now let me remind u I’m stuck in the middle of these strangers driveway as they’re trying to leave their home and I cannot switch into reverse so I had to keep my foot on that break pedal the entire time. Thank god they were very understanding ( because who knows what could’ve happened) and said they were leaving for something that wasn’t very important and would go another day. Come to find out it was my cable shifter which I had already had reapired previously as a recall. I haven’t even been able to drive the car because it will not shift into any gear. It’s currently just sitting across the street in my apartment complex as I have no way to work or anywhere for that matter. I called the same dealership (I took it to the first time I had the recall done)as soon as the incident happend to see if I could just get it repaired again (which I shouldn’t have to) and they told me that there was no way I was gonna be able to drop my car off at the dealership because they were extremely backed up so it would take 4 weeks before they could have anyone even look at the car. I described what it was doing over the phone to him and he said it most definitely was the cable shifter. And not only that but he also told me that even with it sitting here or there they don’t even have the part to fix the vehicle at the moment. This isn’t even the least of issues with this vehicle that I haven’t even owned for 2 years. There were never any warning lights or anything that popped up on the dashboard.
