1 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2017 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 04/09/2019

While driving on freeway, received a quick temp icon (popped up too quick to see what it said), but I looked at temp and saw the needle was close to the h (hot). After stopping at a gas station and checking the water/coolant level saw it was almost empty. Added coolant. Took it to the dealer the next day and after troubleshooting they found it was the left head gasket was leaking coolant and they had to replace it.

3 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2014 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/04/2014

Wife went to start up vehicle and it would not crank over. Called aaa for a jump. It crank and started with a rattle can sound. I came home to verify sound. It did such sound as she explained. I'm a mechanic and removed valve cover to check for rocker damage none found. I removed intake and found water in #7and #8 cylinder. I looked at seals on intake and found not installed properly. The seals were not square in bores of intake. I have not removed oil pan but I suspect connecting rods bent on start up. I need to know if Dodge new about this issue. I did do a coolant pressure test and it held fine with no leaks. Was there a recall on the intake which destroyed my wife's engine.

4 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 04/15/2014

We purchased our pre-owned 2004 5. 7 limited edition in January 2007. It had around 40,000 miles. Within a year or so after, the cd changer stopped working, and then the radio would sometimes not work after heavy rain. During a heavy downpour the car would shake and sometimes turn-off, leaving me and 2 small kids stranded on the side of the highway until the rain lightened enough for the car to start again. Whenever we would take the car in to be repaired for this problem, we were always told they couldn't find anything wrong that would cause those types of problems, but we had numerous repairs that we now think were probably related to the water problem, such as a new starter, repairs for a coolant leak, etc. In early 2014 the car began having problems with overheating. A few days after a two or three day period of near constant rain I went to start the car and it sounded like it was flooded or something. Then there was a long bang followed by a terrible noise coming from the engine. Had it towed and looked at by two different mechanics who said there was a hole in the block and the engine would have to be replaced. I just recently decided to search the internet to see if any other people had this problem and have found hundreds of posts by consumers who had this very same thing happen to this model Dodge Durango. It seems appropriate for Dodge to be investigated for this and pay us for thousands of dollars spent on repairs, tows, having to sit dangerously on the side of highways when the car would turn of in the heavy rain, and the fact that we ended up just having to junk our car for a few hundred bucks and will now have to purchase a brand new car we cannot afford when we had just paid this one off two years prior. They should be held accountable for basically selling cars with defective components to unsuspecting buyers for tens of thousands of dollars!!!.

5 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2003 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 05/15/2012

Never had any problems til we drove almost 5 hrs on vacation to gatlinburg and before we even got into town the check gauge light came on and realized the temp gauge was in the red. Never leaked coolant or smelled any antifreeze. The next day after letting it sit overnight it seemed fine no check light was on drove it back still no engine light on and temp was fine, few weeks later all hell broke loose! the valve train started ticking. Had it towed to the dealership (kings cjd) and found a failed rocker & tappet had replaced 4 days later was doing it on the driver side, took it back that's when it took them a few days to figure out it was leaking coolant down into the cylinders. Chrysler didn't have cylinder heads available it took over 2 months for us to get the part (not from Chrysler) as far as we know they still don't have the part available. 28 plus people are on a waiting list to receive cylinder heads that are still not available! repeated trips to the dealership for leaking valve covers on both sides, still dealing with issue of possible leak around crank seal on timing cover. Chrysler does seem to give a darn about our time and money wasted for the supposed repairs that are not fixed!! has anyone else reading this had any issues regarding cylinder heads???? I think when you have 28 plus people on the waiting list for the same part for the same make & model vehicle same engine 4. 7 v8 obviously their is a manufacture issue not an owner issue!!! that's just a taste of what is going on their is plenty more and Chrysler just keeps telling us im sorry and that's it im sorry!!! we have had several case mgrs and noone seems to be caring.

6 Coolant Leaking problem of the 1999 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/03/2007

Car stalls. My car stalls while I am driving or at a stop light, just idling. It has stalled on the freeway, which is very dangerous. Before the car stalls the battery voltage sensor and the fuel level indicator goes all the way down. Then the odometer starts blinking and saying "no bus". The autoshops I have been to do not know what "no bus" means. I have to turn the ignition off and on several times before the battery voltage and fuel indicator go back up. It takes anywhere from a couple seconds to 20+ minutes for the car to finally start. Sometimes it won't start. The check engine light comes on, when the car stalls. But once the car starts, the light goes away. I have took the car to several mechanics. They ran diagnostic testing on it. The obd found no problems. My injectors and everything are working fine. Pls help. These is one of several problems w/ these car. Coolant leaks, ball joints always going out. I fixed these problems several times. I am tired of this car.
