Driver side daytime running light (dlr) went out without warning. Another motorist notified me. Fixing requires the entire headlamp assembly to be replaced and the part, alone, is over $1,100.

Driver side day time running does not work. This is a very common problem with 2021 and up Dodge durang's . Driving light are a safety feature. Some states require them to be on.
Drivers drl failed within 3 yrs. This is led and supposed to last 10-15 yrs. Extended bumper to bumper warranty won’t cover. It’s nearly 2k to fix. Risk is less visibility during daytime to other drivers. Is this led bulb, electrical, fuse, ballast? no one seems to know. 2 dealerships say have to replace entire headlight system for nearly 2k!!!.

The driver's side daytime running light white led strip is inoperable. After internet research this complaint is very common and similar to the tail "racetrack" light recall. Because daytime running increases visibility of vehicles on the road, this is safety related. I have since observed several late year model Durangos with this exact fault. Stelantis/Dodge/Chrysler will not warranty the fault and the corrective action is to remove and replace the entire headlamp assembly at an estimated cost of $2k parts and labor.
Its going to cost me $2,120+ in parts plus labor at the dealer to replace my front left turn signal. Unless I come up with close to $3,000 I am forced to drive around without a functioning front left turn signal. This is dangerous and very concerning to me. The headlights on the 2021+ Dodge Durango are a totally integrated unit. Each headlamp contains the drl and turn signal units as led's. Once the led or its electronics fail, the entire headlamp assembly must be replaced. And you have to remove the front fascia pieces of body work to remove the headlight units. This is not a job the average person can do reliably, even if they have the money. I even purchased a Dodge/Chrysler mopar factory extended warranty when I bought the Durango, that is good for 7 yrs/125k miles. My 2021 Dodge Durango has 69,420 miles on it as of today. Dodge is refusing to cover this part under the warranty. I was told this today by the local dealer in myrtle beach, SC. This is not right that consumers have to pay thousands of $$$ to replace a turn signal. Very dangerous.
I am filing a complaint regarding a known defect with the rear racetrack taillight assembly on the 2017 Dodge Durango gt. The rear racetrack taillight allows water and moisture to enter the sealed housing. Over time, this causes condensation buildup, corrosion, and partial or complete failure of the led lighting. In my case, the racetrack light has gone out and shows visible water inside the assembly. This issue creates a safety concern because the rear lighting becomes dim or nonfunctional, reducing visibility to other drivers, especially at night or during rain. In some cases, the electrical issues may also affect other vehicle lighting or electrical components. This problem is widely reported by many Dodge Durango owners across multiple model years, yet the taillight assembly design has not been properly corrected. Owners are often required to replace the entire racetrack taillight at high cost, even though the failure is due to a design defect rather than wear and tear. I believe this issue should be formally investigated, acknowledged, and addressed through a recall or manufacturer-supported repair, as it impacts vehicle safety and visibility. + affects ipc and electrical of vehicle where dimming is not happening and flashes which could lead to ipc failure and high costs additionally. Thank you for reviewing this complaint.

21 Dodge Durango driver’s led daytime running light went out, a lot of people having same issues specially with 21’s.
Water had accumulated in the racetrack led light in the center of the trunk. Causing light to short circuit and lose taillight, license plate light, and back up lights as well.

The rear tail lights are not properly sealed. It allows rain, snow or car wash water to accumulate inside the assembly. The lights then short out and do not work.
This complaint is for the tail light center light, race track light. Water has built up inside the lens after multiple times draining. The water has cased the racetrack light to completely burn out.
Rear tail light not working filled with water and burned out led.
I don't understand this vehicle is still fairly new and my daytime running light on the driver side stop working for some reason and I don't understand I also noticed all the lighting system in the rear all has water in it now I'm worried is all the lighting in this car going to go bad because I see it in a lot of cars out here on the road. I tried everything in the settings I've tried everything.
Left driver side led turn signal strip malfunctions.
My vehicle experienced failure of both the driver-side drl (daytime running light) and the passenger-side front turn signal within a short period of time. On this model year, both components are part of a sealed led headlight assembly with no replaceable bulbs. The only repair option is full headlight assembly replacement, quoted at $800–$1,200 per side plus labor. This is a safety issue because front drl and turn signal failure reduces vehicle visibility to oncoming traffic. Online reports show numerous other 2021–2023 Durango owners experiencing the same problem with the led drl/turn-signal assemblies, suggesting a pattern of premature failure. Stellantis has also faced known issues with sealed led lighting on the Durango’s ‘racetrack’ taillight assemblies, indicating a broader led reliability issue on these vehicles. I am requesting NHTSA review this as a potential safety-related defect, as owners are forced into high-cost headlight replacements due to non-serviceable led modules failing early.
Daytime running lights on driver's side inop. Due to led strips in headlamps not working. Someone pulled out in front of me from a side road, almost causing an accident. This seems to be a common issue with this model of years from Dodge. There are no warning lamps or any symptoms. I noticed it when I parked in front of a store and noticed in the reflection in the glass that the driver's side drl not working and remembered someone pulling out in front of me earlier that day and wondered if this may have been the reason for this. There needs to be a better bulb replacement requirement from the government to keep manufacturers from requiring a whole $1200 headlamp assembly (plus labor) just because a couple of led strips stopped working. It seems to be a common problem since there are many forums about others having the same issue with only the driver's side headlamp drl's going out.
Race light tail lights went out. Water can get in around light . Known issue in class action lawsuit.
This specific year and all models in 2021 Durango’s including srt, gt, gt plus , tng , vehicle has a known issue with the driver side drl ( daytime running lights) completely going out and not working very early into its life . I believe this is a safety issue that the manufacturer should fix themselves as it’s a defect wiring / headlight issue that is affecting thousands of customers. Secondly, this car comes with an issue in the taillight not being properly sealed and allowing water into the leds , burning them out and being needed replaced . Both of these issues comes from the manufacturer/ factory and are safety issues/risk known in thousands of Durangos which should definitely be recalled .
The rear race track light and license plate lights failed to work due to a faulty gasket or seal on the light. Faulty in the manufacturing process and now to repair this issue is $1500 or more. The vehicle can not be inspected and used do to the lights not working.

Daytime running light feature is out on drivers side seems to be a consistent problem is not covered under max care warranty.
Last year I notice water in my tail lights. I removed the bolt to help drain the water. Part of my tail lights is now burned out. Now at 77,000+ my start/stop light came on, then the check engine. Scan code was p0304. Misfire on cylinder 4. I changed ignition coil 4, set of spark plugs. It was still misfiring on 4. I had spark plugs on 4 changed. This still did not fix it. The person who changed the spark plugs let me know my lifter/cam was bad. I scheduled with Dodge and they diagnosed it with a blown head gasket. The service rep said the blown head gasket was my fault, however after asking the mechanic said there was no code for over heating or any of that, just the misfire.
Running light inoperable. Dealer says replacement is only repair, not covered under warranty. Found that many other people are having the same problem within 3 years.
The contact owns a 2021 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the driver's side headlight failed to function as intended. In addition, the front passenger side headlight was very dim. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, and determined that the led ballast had failed. The contact was informed that the headlight assemblies needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to the cost. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 37,000.
My driver's side daytime running light quit working a few weeks ago, however last week when I used remote start the drl came on, but sadly it is out again. I have 80,000. Miles on the vehicle. Drl's should last for life of car but blogs on the 21-24 models indicate many owners having the same issue with driver's side drl's. I went to Dodge dealer and was quoted $1,953. 00 to repair! manufacturers should not be permitted to engineer this kind of equipment for a vehicle that makes repairs prohibitive economically. No recall has been issued but should be. Btw, the repair includes removing the front bumper with grille just to get to the headlight for repair.
2021 Dodge Durango with 40k miles on it. Like many other drivers of this specific SUV and year the front driver side led daylight running lights have suddenly stopped working. The same applies to the rear 3rd brake light. Based on discussion boards this seems to be a common issue.
Fuel pump stopped working prematurely and had to be replaced prior to 57k miles. Satelite/antenna/module failure. Headlight drl have failed prematurely. Taillights burned out due to constant water buildup. Yes vehicle is available for inspection upon request.
The tailgate light has gone out on my 2018 Dodge Durango r/t. Researching online has lead me to discover that this is a known issue that is costing customers thousands of dollars due to a known design flaw. The tailgate light goes out and usually leads to the brake lights and backup camera going out. I do not know when the brakes lights may glitch or go out which can cause an accident. I asked the service person at the dealership about the tailgate issue in may of 2025 when the tailgate light was intermittently going in and out. I was told to call the 800 customer service number. There’s no warning for the tailgate light failing and leading to the failure of the brake lights and backup camera.

Daytime running lights- the drivers side daytime running light has stopped working-like many other people have reported repair under warranty is being denied by Dodge fca as a wear item, it is an integrated system and not a bulb as they are saying. It creates a safely issue that they refuse to repair under warranty.
2021 Dodge Durango failing headlight assembly, specifically the driver side turn signal. Numerous Durango owners are experiencing the same issue with the Dodge Durango headlight malfunction, I've have more than one close accident incident due to the failed turn signal. It's like Dodge don't want to stand behind their product and address the concern of millions of Dodge Durango owners who are having these issues. Not even a simple acknowledgement of the issue and any potential effort to help fix the problems for the owners. I must say Dodge has lost a future buyer due to their lack of support on their own product.
Left turn signal stopped working. I learned to find out that it’s not replaceable. The whole headlight assembly needs to be replaced the cost of it over $1000. My vehicle is only four years old. Why isn’t it on a recall or replaceable by the manufacturer on the warranty?.
Drivers side daytime/nighttime running lights failed after 35789 miles.
Driver side drl (daytime running light) quit functioning. This a known issue with the led lamps. The attached photos are: 1. Rockauto description 2. Email showing order # and total for both headlamp assemblies. 3. The removed, old oem headlamp assemblies. 4. Rockauto shipping bill.
I am submitting this complaint regarding recurring safety-related defects on my 2023 Dodge Durango rt. 1. Uconnect failure: the uconnect infotainment/communication box has repeatedly failed, causing loss of access to critical vehicle functions. These failures affect visibility of system warnings, navigation, and driver settings, creating distraction and limiting awareness. 2. Driver-side daytime running light (drl) failure: at just 40,000 miles, the driver-side drl failed. This significantly reduces vehicle visibility to other drivers during the day, creating a safety hazard. What raises my concern further is that I have personally identified at well over 10 other Dodge Durangos in my local area experiencing the same daytime running light issue. This strongly suggests a widespread defect. Both failures directly impact vehicle safety. The uconnect issue undermines system reliability, while the drl defect reduces daytime visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. I request that this issue be investigated as a systemic defect requiring corrective action. Dodge owners should not have to repeatedly pay for repairs on essential safety features. Thank you for your time and attention.
Water is entering the rear tail light assembly and dimming the tail light. The oem seal has failed. I took this problem to my Dodge dealer, and they informed me that even with a mopar extended warranty, they will not replace the tail light assembly because it is considered a "bulb". That's a $2000. 00 blub!.
The vehicle suffers some type of known issue that is causing a driver's side daytime running light failure. From all the research I have done and forums I have read, this is always the driver's side failure. The manufacturer can offer no solution to this when questioned about it other than offering up a complete headlight assembly at over 2000 dollars. The led lighting that fails is non replaceable and non repairable. Having this failure on the driver's side can cause immediate threats in low visibility situations that could lead oncoming traffic to believe the passenger side that continues to always work is actually the driver's side. This causes in my opinion a threat of head on collision in low visibility such as dense fog like I have in my area daily.
