The tailgate light has gone out on my 2018 Dodge Durango r/t. Researching online has lead me to discover that this is a known issue that is costing customers thousands of dollars due to a known design flaw. The tailgate light goes out and usually leads to the brake lights and backup camera going out. I do not know when the brakes lights may glitch or go out which can cause an accident. I asked the service person at the dealership about the tailgate issue in may of 2025 when the tailgate light was intermittently going in and out. I was told to call the 800 customer service number. There’s no warning for the tailgate light failing and leading to the failure of the brake lights and backup camera.

Daytime running lights- the drivers side daytime running light has stopped working-like many other people have reported repair under warranty is being denied by Dodge fca as a wear item, it is an integrated system and not a bulb as they are saying. It creates a safely issue that they refuse to repair under warranty.

2021 Dodge Durango failing headlight assembly, specifically the driver side turn signal. Numerous Durango owners are experiencing the same issue with the Dodge Durango headlight malfunction, I've have more than one close accident incident due to the failed turn signal. It's like Dodge don't want to stand behind their product and address the concern of millions of Dodge Durango owners who are having these issues. Not even a simple acknowledgement of the issue and any potential effort to help fix the problems for the owners. I must say Dodge has lost a future buyer due to their lack of support on their own product.
Left turn signal stopped working. I learned to find out that it’s not replaceable. The whole headlight assembly needs to be replaced the cost of it over $1000. My vehicle is only four years old. Why isn’t it on a recall or replaceable by the manufacturer on the warranty?.
Drivers side daytime/nighttime running lights failed after 35789 miles.
Driver side drl (daytime running light) quit functioning. This a known issue with the led lamps. The attached photos are: 1. Rockauto description 2. Email showing order # and total for both headlamp assemblies. 3. The removed, old oem headlamp assemblies. 4. Rockauto shipping bill.
I am submitting this complaint regarding recurring safety-related defects on my 2023 Dodge Durango rt. 1. Uconnect failure: the uconnect infotainment/communication box has repeatedly failed, causing loss of access to critical vehicle functions. These failures affect visibility of system warnings, navigation, and driver settings, creating distraction and limiting awareness. 2. Driver-side daytime running light (drl) failure: at just 40,000 miles, the driver-side drl failed. This significantly reduces vehicle visibility to other drivers during the day, creating a safety hazard. What raises my concern further is that I have personally identified at well over 10 other Dodge Durangos in my local area experiencing the same daytime running light issue. This strongly suggests a widespread defect. Both failures directly impact vehicle safety. The uconnect issue undermines system reliability, while the drl defect reduces daytime visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. I request that this issue be investigated as a systemic defect requiring corrective action. Dodge owners should not have to repeatedly pay for repairs on essential safety features. Thank you for your time and attention.
Water is entering the rear tail light assembly and dimming the tail light. The oem seal has failed. I took this problem to my Dodge dealer, and they informed me that even with a mopar extended warranty, they will not replace the tail light assembly because it is considered a "bulb". That's a $2000. 00 blub!.

The vehicle suffers some type of known issue that is causing a driver's side daytime running light failure. From all the research I have done and forums I have read, this is always the driver's side failure. The manufacturer can offer no solution to this when questioned about it other than offering up a complete headlight assembly at over 2000 dollars. The led lighting that fails is non replaceable and non repairable. Having this failure on the driver's side can cause immediate threats in low visibility situations that could lead oncoming traffic to believe the passenger side that continues to always work is actually the driver's side. This causes in my opinion a threat of head on collision in low visibility such as dense fog like I have in my area daily.

The rear tail lights and the rear “race track” running light have allowed water to enter causing premature failure of a large portion of the light(s). These are not user serviceable parts and should be completely sealed from the elements. Eventually, the entire ‘marker light’ portion of the the taillights and race track with be completely non-functioning causing the vehicle to have no rear illumination except brake lights when the vehicle headlights are on. It started out as one small section but has rapidly progressed.

This is a fairly new SUV and front turn signals are out. This puts me in danger of having to turn and other drivers not aware. It is not a simple bulb fix. All have to be removed. This was confirmed by a couple of independent mechanics. Vehicle has not been inspected by manufacturer. No warning lamps or messages prior to issue.
My 2021 Dodge Durango drivers side daytime running light went out around 55000 miles. I do have an extended warranty through the manufacturer, but was informed that this is not a covered part despite it being a known issue and a “max care warranty”. The reason being that it is considered a “bulb” however to replace it requires the entire new left headlamp assembly to be replaced, per the dealership. This is a high cost of around $1650. Regardless of the cost, this is a safety issue and a concern for myself as well as others on the road. A quick search shows this is a known and ongoing problem with the 2021 Dodge Durangos in particular the drivers side daytime running light which does not have a safe, cost effective fix. I ask for you to take a look at the many people who have been impacted and the safety concern associated with this.
Left side daytime running light failed, yes, currently available for inspection issue causes oncoming vehicle visibility issue the problem has been confirmed by dealer and has been reproduced. The issue also happens to other mopar vehicles with led drl strips. Component has been inspected by dealer only. Has not gone up the chain. No other warning lamps or messages were displayed. Vehicle passed all internal tests before dealer computer scan.
Driver side drl malfunction and impacts visibility at night. No warning/error codes. Starter relay causing no crank/fuel pump failure causing me to stall out in the middle of a intersection.
The rear license plate light bulb (right) was out and I went to have the bulb replaced. I was quoted over $1100 from the dealer, as the led racetrack lighting was not properly sealed and is collecting water. The collection of water within the light compartment has caused corrosion within, and the wiring to disintegrate. This is a commonly known, yet not addressed safety issue by Dodge. My vehicle will not pass the MA safety inspection at the end of the month. I have read on-line many, many complaints, as well as have spoken to other Durango owners who have experienced this same problem. I have already replaced the racetrack lighting once on this vehicle due to water collection and the brake lights not properly working. This is a known safety issue that needs to be addressed.

The obd reader on my 2003 Durango brings up code for central timing module and eeprm checksum error were the safety recall is in order but the VIN number is not in the list of recall. It has all the specification of recall but VIN number isn't in the list of recalls. I'm driving around in a unsafe vehicle due to manufacturing error that my VIN number is the only thing why they won't fix it. Why do they not care if I kill myself or others from this that the recall is.

Both drl stop working both turn signals stop working.
Water collects in the racing tail light which leads to electrical issues or some parts or all of the light going out.
Driver’s side daytime running light ceased working permanently. This creates a safety issue due to its role in conjunction with the headlights.
The rear marker lights which are led have shorted and are now inoperative. So at night I no longer have any rear running lights. Also the license plate lights are out. Dealer charged me $254. 00 to diagnose the failed complaint and and found that the rear racetrack light and passenger rear corner light needs replaced. The estimate of repair is $254. 00 for diagnosis and $2746. 26 for rear race track light and pas rear corner light assembly. The dealer who is familiar with problem contacted fiat Chrysler automobiles with reference #931238452 looking for customer assistance with repair and dealer was told that Chrysler customer assistance would only contribute $712. 85 with tax and no assistance for the $254. 00 diagnosis fee. So total out of my pocket would be $2447. 08. I have read that a class action suit is underway do to the enormous amount of failures on 2017-2025 vehicles.
1-driver side led inside the headlight burnt out doesn't work anymore can't replace led in the headlight must replace the unit. Vehicle can be ready on request 2-the safety of me and my family are at risk of crashing or going off the road at night time because the lighting of the led light doesn't put out a bright light of the road and objects in front of my vehicle like the other side that works 3- the dealer said there is no recall so they can't do nothing. 4- the police said if it don't get fixed soon I would start getting tickets for a blown out headlight but the headlight bulbs work 5- no messages or warning came on the dash this problem began June 1,2025 I looked at reviews of this happening to many 2022,2023,2024 Dodge Durango's and the front end and fender has to come off the vehicle to get to the headlight unit screws witch leads to over a thousand dollars for parts and labor this is a safety problem and a malfunction that I hope it don't lead to someone getting hurt or killed because of Dodge not taking responsibility for a malfunction part. The Dodge corporation always makes sure there cars are safe but everybody that has this problem with there 2022,2023,2024 Dodge Durango's must file a complaint.
The daytime running lights are out only on the drivers side of my vehicle. There are multiple other 2021 Durango's in my town that have the exact same issue.
2021 dodg Durango daytime running light (drl-driver side) failure. Daytime safety lighting affected. Thousands of reported issues (forums, etc. ). Happening within only a couple years of purchase/low miles. Light (bulb or led) cannot be replaced, only $1300 entire headlight assembly.
Im again reporting the racetrack tail lights. Im seeing a lot more water intrusion in Dodge Durangos of many years. We want answers! this needs to be investigated stat! consumers should not have to pay $1800 for failure on Dodges part! they know this is an issue with many years of these Durangos. There is already a class action lawsuit against them for this issue. Please investigate this! we want answers. . . .

Daytime running lights stopped working at 40,000 miles. Only fix would be to get an entirely new headlight.
Known issue with driver side drl going out and whole headlight unit has to be replaced according to dealer.
My Durango has been in and out the shop since may. It was the fuel pump and everything connected to it which is a pain in the rear. Also the design of the taillight should be assessed as well. It’s very pricy to fix when it gets the water and dark spots in it . All of us aren’t blessed with a house with a garage.
Vehicle has less than 50k miles on it, drl-driver went out and the entire head unit needs to be replaced which costs over 1k. Common problem with this vehicle. Poses a safety risk while driving with the lighting failure.
Rear racetrack led lightning is failing due to water intrusion. This could also possibly cause electrical issues to the license plate lights and back up camera. When in bad weather, other drivers could fail to see the back of my car, and could get into an accident. Yes, dealer stated that the cost is 1500 to fix. The Durango has 60k miles. Dealer only. No warning just a fellow driver reported my racetrack light flickers and dim.
The daytime running light on the drivers side stopped working. Appears to be a very common problem on 2021 Durangos. After inspection of the headlight assembly, it appears the drl are 2 separate strips which makes it highly unlikely that both led strips failed at the exact same time. This leads me to believe the issue is electrical. I dont want to replace the headlight assembly with an underlying electrical issue and Dodge does not want to take responsibilty and investigate further. They want to replace the headlight assembly. This is an ongoing issue with many Durangos and it needs to be properly addressed.
The rear led tail light assembly does not function. There appears to be moisture causing the led lights to not function. Vehicle was recently serviced and was quoted $1800 for repairing the assembly. I'm concerned from a safety perspective as the tail lights will not be visible when driving at night. In addition, I see a lot of Dodge Durangos on the road where the rear tail light assembly has dimming or missing lighting, which leads me to believe there may be a design flaw.
Rear brake light got water in it and now the brake light is partially out.
The driver's side, daytime running light led suddenly went off and stopped working.
Rear liftgate taillight assembly seal has failed allowing water to get in. As a result, the led lighting element has failed which dramatically reduces rear visibility by other vehicles.
