1 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2007 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 10/01/2015

Fuel tank sprays fuel and spills up to a quart of gasoline when filler nozzle shuts off. I purchased this vehicle used in September of 2015 with approximately 91,000 miles. It is a limited 4x4 model with a 5. 7l hemi multi displacement engine. Upon several occasions when refueling the vehicle, seconds after the fuel nozzle clicks off a gushing should is heard and immediately a spray of gasoline is ejected from the filler neck. It has become too dangerous to fill the tank and I must resort to purchasing a less than full tank. Not only is this annoying but it also presents an extreme fire and explosion hazard due to the quantity of gasoline ejected. Both myself and several gas station attendants have been soaked in gasoline by this defect of not shutting off the filler check valve when full. I believe the 2005-2006 models of this same vehicle were recalled for a similar problem which required replacing the entire fuel tank and filler pipe as an assembly. If this problem is allowed to go unchecked it represents a hazard to the several thousands of this generation 2005 to 2009 Durangos on the road and their occupants.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

takata recall there are several things that are going on with my 2005 Dodge Durango slt 4. 7 liter v8, 4 wheel drive SUV that are alarming. Every single time I fuel the vehicle it shoots gasoline right back on out of the gas tank where you insert the fuel nozzle and covers me with gas! plus I have replaced the throttle position sensor several times, along with the idle air control valve, and map sensor just to try and correct the stalling while either slowing down to come to a stop, or it also occurs quite frequently when the vehicle is at normal operational temperature and just idling. The rpm gauge inside the vehicle starts fluctuating irratically before stalling. You lose all power and control over the vehicle when it stalls! another problem that's present is hard shifting, or the vehicle fails to shift until it almost pegs out the rpm gauge. It's like both idle and shift are affected creating a safety issue. The transmission has been serviced regularly, tuneups, etc. However despite staying on top of all vehicle maintenance requirements the vehicle still runs poorly and has been doing this since I have owned it at 78,000 miles. It's now got 113k on it and I honestly think the vehicle is a safety hazard and needs the manufacturing company to address all of these issues! this is an ongoing issue that no matter how many times I have the vehicle repaired and the parts replaced it continues to stall out and shift incorrectly there's 18 trouble codes that keep coming up including the air bag on the passenger side, which really doesn't seem to fit what's really going on. No trouble codes for the fuel tank shooting gas out of the inlet pipe that leads to gas tank. This stalling and loss of power happens at all speeds on the freeway, city driving, or literally parked or slowing down from any speed. Any kind of weather condition. Problem started 8/01/2014 to present day.

3 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2008 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 07/15/2014

When and everytime vech. Is refueled, get blowback of fuel. During 1 trip, fuel ran back down outside of fill pipe and gas tank, and hit hot muffler, luckly it did not ignite. Can't fill gas tank more than half way, without this happening. Called dealer, service mgr. Took VIN#, said wasn't cover under recall of any type, but will correct problem with new gas tank for aprox. $1000. Another problem that happen twice now, is elect. System goes out, loosing all power to steering and brakes, this happen twice. One time was while towing camper on interstate highway with traffic, we just barely got off road. Again dealership, said the recall for instrument and wiring couldn't and wouldn't cause car to just shut down as described. But they would be happy to replace the instrument cluster and correct any wiring problems, saying cost could be a few hundred or more. Have called Chrysler 3 times, they taken info. Said someone would contact, never a call back. This car was purchased as a used car from a Ford dealership, with only a little over 10,000. Miles in 2013, 5yrs old and only 2000 per year should of been a red flag, but was told a older gentleman had and Ford dealer showed a carfax report that fit the mileage.

4 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/23/2012

When I fill my gas tank I get a very strong gas smell, the cab fill with gas fumes. You can only smell gas on the drivers side I brought it in 3 times to be looked at but not issues can be found. The odometer says "gas cap" but the dealer finds no code issues. There is clearly a issue with my Durango but no one is willing to help me with it!! Dodge said that my Durango is not included in the recall notice and they are more than willing to hook it up to there computer for $100. 00 bucks! I have had this Durango since 12/2212 and have been working with the private dealer that sold it to me he is not able to find anything wrong with it. I am only getting 7-10 miles per gallon that is crazy. Im not sure what to do.
