1 Power Steering Failed problem of the 2014 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/01/2018

Three weeks ago, the power steering failed on my SUV while in motion on a city street. It tightened up severely, making it very difficult to steer. The Dodge dealer says the electric power steering control module is faulty and the part is on back order. Today (Dec. 19), I was told the part would not be available until sometime in January. A parts representative offered to locate a generic part from another manufacturer, which I declined.

6 Power Steering Failed problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 02/26/2010

I own a 2005 Dodge Durango. Whenever the vehicle runs through a moderately sized rain puddle and water is sprayed up under the car the power steering fails but returns to service a short time after. This has happened repeatedly and the dealer has been called and they acknowledge the problem but say nothing can be done about it. It is truly a safety issue. I have experienced this along with my wife and sons. I live in tampa, FL and rainfall is quite routine (approx 52 inches/yr) and puddles cannot be avoided.

7 Power Steering Failed problem of the 2003 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/29/2008

Power steering rack failed at 73,000 miles. Unacceptable that the steering would fail with only 73,000 miles!! paid $900 to have repaired. This was 6 months ago. Now they are saying our wheel bearings are failing and are not covered under the recall that was put in place back in 2004. Even though the mechanic told us that our wheel would fall off if we didn't have it fixed. That should fall under the category of the recall for the wheel hub.
