1 Radiator Hose problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that there was premature exposure near the underbody of the vehicle close to the wiring. Also, the emissions hose was eaten through by rodents. The parts were replaced once, but the failure recurred. The dealer replaced the emissions hose a second time months later, but the rodents chewed through the part again. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and advised that the dealer replace the part. The VIN was not available. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.

2 Radiator Hose problem of the 2013 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 04/01/2013

Had horrible smell coming from cooling system. Took in numerous times to dealership to try and fix. Finally stumped the dealership asked star at Chrysler headquarters. They immediately knew the issue and gave mechanics steps to fix. Turns out the new "green friendly" engine coolant they are using on the new Durangos was never tested. The coolant was interacting with anything rubber it came into contact with and was breaking down the rubber. Star told them to replace every piece of rubber the coolant comes into contact with. It is now middle of August and the smell is still present and to date Chrysler has not issued a service bulletin or recall on the coolant or hoses. We have submitted paper work for the lemon law.

3 Radiator Hose problem of the 2005 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 02/01/2010

I have a 2005 Dodge Durango slt with the 5. 7l v8 hemi. I just purchased it used January 16th of 2010 with 80,000 miles on it. The vehicle has begun to stall (the steering locks up, brakes hard to push, engine cuts off) when making turns occasionally from the stopped position, or when accelerating. It varies as to when this happens, but it has happened to me 5 times since Jan. 16th. The latest incident was yesterday (Feb 1st) while making a turn off of rockport road onto highway 37 north in bloomington, indiana. The speed limit is 60 in this stretch of the highway, and as I was turning onto the highway the Durango quit working. I immediately put it in park and started it back up and floored it in reverse to get back onto rockport road. I had given myself ample space to pull onto the highway to avoid traffic, however at those speeds, two vehicles had approached rather fast. This morning I did a little research into this problem at work, and I have found numerous complaints of the same issue. This is a serious safety concern and one that needs to be addressed immediately. The dealerships says the engines are going bad, the sensors need replaced. Well I am here to tell you these are all lies. I work as a sales representative at the Chrysler Dodge Jeep dealership in bloomington indiana, and our service department (the same as every single one in the us) diagnoses these problems "to the best of their ability", ability that is terrible in my eyes. They are there to make money of everyone (including me). They are paid on commission just like sales people. Higher replacement means higher pay checks. Feel free to contact me with any questions. . 4 Radiator Hose problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 06/30/2005

My previous odi is 10126311 this vehicle was picked up in clovis, nm this morning. Bender Dodge had just replaced my short block due to a snapped number 7 rod between the piston and crank journal. The trip was over 250 mile for us and about 10 miles before we reached belen, nm my check engine light came on. The idle was high and the rpms were jumping up and down. I called Chrysler roadside assist and they could not advise me if I should call a tow truck or drive it. I hung up my cell phone and called bender Dodge and spoke to eric in their service department. He thought it sounded like a intake air line and told me it would be fine to continue driving to auge's Dodge in belen. Auge's had the vehicle for a couple of hours and seemed to think it was just a censor, they reset it and waited for the vehicle to cool off and sent us on our way. On the way home the check engine light never came on but the car is now idling very high and when you let off the gas the whole vehicle jerks. Daimler/Chrysler is not easy to deal with and have been very unhelpful to us. I see a long road with a vehicle that won't get us down it. I have a vehicle that is not going to be reliable and want a replacement vehicle so I can get to work and back each day and enjoy trips with my family.
