3 Tire problem of the 2021 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/13/2022

I had 4 pirelli tires that were down to 3/32 to the point where the threads were showing near the inner sidewall on the tread in under 15000 miles. Tire information: pirelli scorpion zero all/season run flat tires tire size: 295/45/ zr20 (110y) m+s my safety as well as others would've been at severe risk if I wouldn't have replaced my tires. They would've blown out near the inner sidewall on the tread. I brought my vehicle in to the dealership to have an alignment and all specs were in spec which would indicate there shouldn't have been premature or uneven wear on the tire. They did confirm that under 15000 miles is extremely premature for these tires to be worn. The tires have only been inspected by the dealership, nobody else at this time. There were no lights on the dash indicating any sort of issue. I called pirelli about the issue and they stated that there is no mileage warranty on the tires put on at the time of manufacturing. They stated that this complaint was "definitely not the first they have heard and it is not uncommon for premature wear to occur" but couldn't provide any further comment.

9 Tire problem of the 2001 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 08/09/2015

I worked for a tire shop in wal-mart and on 08/09/15 a 2001 Dodge Durango came in for tires. The vehicle placard called for 225/75/15 extra load tires and my management approved for us to put a standard load 235/75/15 tire (brand is dextero made by giti, I didn't select it on the tire selection due to it wasn't listed) on the vehicle. It was directly against company policy and unsafe to put an improper tire on that vehicle. This is the third tire that they put on this vehicle. I wasn't involved in the other two but this last one on Sunday they wanted me to install said tire. I refused to do knowing that it was against our policy and I did not want to put the customer in an unsafe position. They forced another technician to do the work then proceeded to terminate me the next day on 08/10/15. The customer is in current possession of the vehicle that has improper tires against what the vehicle required from the manufacturer.

13 Tire problem of the 2011 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/12/2012

Dodge Durango 2011 crew-traction defect. Got the car 12/23/11. On 1/12/12, during snow storm. I left work, car would not stay on the road, slid sideways as I turned. I was on the phone w/CO-worker who was behind me. I asked if he saw my car slide, he said yes, it was difficult to keep on the road so told him I had to go. I drove to peoria. I was going very slow. Went to swim meet, then headed home down knoxville Ave. Maybe10 mph, very cautious, everyone was passing me. Signal turned yellow, then red, but my car would not stop. Anti-lock brakes were on, car continued to slide. I saw a truck coming a long way down, I slid into cross traffic, and hit that truck. (I had pain in my shoulder, the pain continued, & on 3/30/12, had emergency surgery 4 ruptured cervical spine. I now have a plate,& 4 screws in my neck. )got the car back, & took it to tire shop to put better tires on it. Was told there was nothing wrong w/tires, & they were better tires than they could sell me. This year in less then 1 inch of snow, the car did a 180 slide on my drive, then slid into traffic (level surface), a car missed me by inches. Slide even in a quarter inch snow. Doesn't matter who is driving it, they slide. I again went 2 a different tire place. They wanted to sell me the same tires, I said no way! they offered alternatives. I decided to google what kind of tires would be good for my car. Much to my dismay, apparently none are. What I found, was that there were several '11 Durango owners complaining about the tires on their cars. Same problems, different tires & different tire manufacturers. Their cars will not stay on the road with snow or ice either. It is not the tires, its a the car! please stop this before someone gets killed. I will live the rest of my like with terrible complications from the surgery. I am terrified to drive this car, & going to have to trade it, & take a huge loss.

20 Tire problem of the 2003 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 09/30/2008

Found a flat tire this morning and noticed that the flat was due to the tire wall separating from the rest of the tire my SUV only has 30,000 miles on it and all 4 of the tires are doing this on an even seam around the entire tire. The tires were manufactured in 2002. The tires are practically new due to the about of tread left on them. I feel this causes a serious safety issue as the tires could fail at any moment.

22 Tire problem of the 2007 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/12/2007

I bought a car "Dodge Durango limited" from Dodge dealer "united motors" in riyadh, saudi arabia back in oct 29th , 2007. The problems with this car started since I bought it. Since I bought the car, I started to feel vibrations in at the steering and a high pitch sound at the front to the degree that I could not wait for the 5000 km maintenance and I needed to take it at the 3500 km for fixing this problem. The other problem was that the rear window driver's switch was not working. The report from maintenance was the need for wheel balance and they said that they fixed it, software upgrade done for the sound, but they apologized about the rear window with no further action. After receiving the car I still had the problem of vibration but I brought it again at the 5000 km for the general maintenance and the same problem of vibration. This time the dealer provided me with a letter to goodyear tires as an expert opinion. The goodyear dealer provided me with a report (attached) that the tires are defective with flat spots due to storage, need to be changed and advised to get and approval from Dodge dealership. First, I met with mr. Ali m. Radaideh and his words were as follows: ⷠ"we do not take the words of goodyear dealership and we have to make our own investigation" this was already done and they tried their best twice. · "your tires are safe and can be driven for even one year". This conflicts with the words of goodyear dealership and really endangers me and my family's safety. At this point, I needed to escalate to the general manager, "mr. Faisal aljamaan" with the following words and behavior: ⷠ"Dodge and goodyear are pointing fingers to each other and you need to wait till we resolve this". · he threatened me" to lose a lot of money" when I mentioned the option of returning the car. Thank you and best regards.

26 Tire problem of the 2004 Dodge Durango

Failure Date: 12/10/2004

The goodyear wrangler sr/a on my Dodge Durango (oem) are a horrible and dangerous SUV tire. These tires have no traction in wet or snow conditions, and even though the SUV is awd, the tires hold the vehicle on the road. I checked various web site ratings on these tires to make sure I was not the only one who felt this way. As an example, tirerack. Com, 1010tires. Com all have numerous reviews that indicate these tires are awful and potentially dangerous due to their construction, tread design etc. I contacted goodyear and Chrysler--neither are willing to do anything or accept any blame here. I now have to find a good set of tires in the odd size of 265/65/17 to put on my SUV before I slide out of control in snow/ice this winter. Its a disgrace.

I pulled over to see what the problem was, when I reached the front of the SUV my front right tire was barely dangling from the SUV. I had to call aaa to have it flat bedded to a garage. I was lucky that I was only going about 40 mph and not reached the posted speed of 70 mph.
