Air Bag Light On Problems of Dodge Grand Caravan - part 1

Vehicle failed inspection, air bag light on. Driver seat wire harness open left thorax squib must replace entire harness, air bag circuits cannot be repaired due to high resistance splicing causes. Part on back order until August 2023!! car cannot be repaired and is out of service, unable to drive, illegal to drive, I have a $20,000 car loan, thrifty car sales of westfield, david dicienzo, violated massachusetts lemon law and refused the car while under the 60 day, 2500 mile used car warranty. Exhaust leak, muffler clamp rusted through, not holding pipes together. Driver front marker light bulb open circuit, bulb needs to be replaced. Air bag light noted to be out by firestone on February 25th, 2023.

Airbag light came on when started vehicle and never turned off. Took it in to dealer and was told it was my battery causing the light. Replaced the battery and they re-did the diagnostic and they told me the orc module is bad due to the battery. They said my battery was charging to 1000 volts and was only supposed to be 800volts. So now I am stuck with a bill for $631. I was told that the same year model had a recall for this reason and mine didn't qualify because it was made 23 days after the recal notice s07. The van is in the shop currently waiting on the part.

Airbag light is on have never been in a car accident and it's not snowing where I'm at there's no reason it should be on and when I move the seat back and forth the light will go off or on when adjusting the seat. And the car could be stationary or moving when I adjust the seat for the light to go on.

Lights go out when the rain gets up under the car from splashing on the road. You have to pull over to the side of the road, turn it off and turn it back on several times and it stays on for a short time. Procedure is repeated again. Only in rainy weather and oregon gets a lot of sporadic rain. Also, the ignition tends to turn the airbag lights on and off whenever I turn a corner left or right of hit a bump.

The air bag light would go on and off as I turned the wheel started in 2016 and now Dec 2019 its on all the time and my horn doesn't work and theres a crack in the interior where the horn is. My fear is what could happen next could the airbag go off while im driving also I need my horn where I was out driving 35 mins ago in my city a car almost side sweep me I tried to honk the horn and notice I had no horn I had to think fast and went half ways into the on coming trafic lane thankfuly the lane was empty I dont believe that this shouldnt have broken.

Vie owned the van for a year now . And then without being involved in any kind of a bump or accident. No damage shown on the of any . The air bag light stated blaring on the dash . Im very concerned that if I was involved in a future accident. They would fail.

The airbag indicator light comes on/off intermittently. The driver's side airbag has been replaced 2 times by 2 different dealerships and the wiring harness that supplies that airbag has been replaced 1 time. The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. While the vehicle was parked, the air bags deployed without warning after shutting the driver's side door. The passenger side air bag struck and shattered the windshield. The air bag warning indicator did not illuminate prior to the failure. The dealer was not notified. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The Chrysler manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 251,000.

On June 21 2019 my wife and I drove to our ivf doctors appointment from our home in waco texas to houston texas. On our trip back home the air bag light came on as she was driving our 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan. Air bag failure reported to Dodge in 2003 and many attempts to have it fixed have failed. Code says passanger air bag defective and air bag light comes on. In many years the dealer has not fixed the problem. They simply reset the code to turn the light off and later it comes back on. The first reported failures were under the warranty. Then they charge $ 100. 00 to turn the light and this has happened over 10 times in the past years. This is a manufacturing problem (not a wear item) and should be fixed under the warranty. The dealer now wants over a 1,000 to remove the dash asm justr to determine if it is a wiring, connection problem or if the air bag is actually bad. I have all the service records verifying my claim.

Vehicle was taken in to dealer for air bag light on, was told active head restraints had deployed. Van has 5700 miles on it. Dealer stated "someone must have backed in to something. " there is no evidence of any damage to rear of van, & parts alone were quoted at $1093. 00 + labor. This seems to be an ongoing issue with Chrysler. Perhaps they should announce a recall to mitigate this situation.

Air bag light comes and goes when corner is turned.

The airbag light illuminated, similar to the problem with existing recalls on earlier model Dodge Grand Caravans.

At about 93,000 miles, airbag light came on and stays illuminated. Apparently not covered under extended warranty. Same vehicles different years had recalls for this issue. This is a safety issue while driving. Will they still deploy in case of accident? or will they deploy and cause an accident?.

Takata recall. The airbag light is on and will not turn off, the horn does not work and the cruise control does not work. I was told it was the clock spring which is recalled on all other vehicles but does not show up on mine. This needs to be changed.

I went in for my inspection sticker for my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan, it failed due to the airbag light being on. There are known issues with the airbag sensor, but mines not covered under the recall, but its the same issue.

Car airbag light came on at about 68,000 miles once and then at 78,000 it came on and stays on all the time. This is my second 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan and that one did the same thing. Had to get rid of it because of rust at 192,000 miles. Whenever I start up and drive, it is constantly on now. Never goes out.

Every time it rains or I take my car to the car wash the airbag light comes on. After a day or two it goes off. I took it to a mechanic who told me that my van had stored codes for � no right front side impact sensor communication � and �right front impact sensor internal 1�. In researching this issue I discovered recall #10v008000 which covers 2005 and 2006 Grand Caravans and pretty much describes exactly what is happening to my van. However, when I contacted Dodge I was told that my particular VIN number is not covered under the current recall. I find it very strange that my van fits all of the parameters for the recall but is excluded.
