The temperature gauge on my van would fluctuate between normal and hot while driving anywhere and at any speed. The courtesy Dodge dealer in conyers, GA said there was no problem with the cooling system, just some air that needed to be removed. A few days later the same problem occurred. This time the dealer said it was a bad head gasket on the right side of the engine. I had to have both left and right side head gaskets replaced at an independent auto repair shop for $1500!. The mechanic said he sees this trouble all the time with the 3. 6l pentastar engine I have. He said there should be a recall on the problem. There are only 111,000 miles on the engine and its only five years old!.
