Engine stalled in the middle of driving down the freeway. This is happening almost daily now, usually when the car is first started. Was accelerating into a turn near oncoming traffic at 20mph when this most recent event happened. This is life endangerment.

Engine stalls, steering wheel/brakes/gas pedal all lock up and become inoperable while driving/in motion. I could be going 10 mph or 50mph. Has happened on windy roads near my home as well as high traffic roads near work as well as on/off highway ramps. I've read hundreds of reports of this happening to my year make and model yet my VIN number has not been recalled? I only use my key fob (no others keys or key chains added). Purchased the vehicle used 3 years ago, has since had new transmission, new starter, and new battery trying to rectify this issue.

I was driving straight on a highway in texas in my Grand Caravan and my engine stalled and lost power and steering and brakes, it was very difficult to steer and I was driving at 70 mph and the was a small shoulder on the side and my family could have gotten hurt, if I had gone into a deep ditch, it was scary and dangerous!.

The engine stalls occasionally when I try to go after being stopped at stop sign. No warning lights. The engine just dies. Radio and electrical are still on. I'm afraid this will happen when I am moving and my brakes and steering will be compromised.

Engine stalls without warning when gas gauge gets to 1/4 of tank. It has happened when going 70 mph on highway, in stop and go traffic on highway, going slow speeds on a residential street, or at a stop sign. Loose power steering and power brakes. Have to come to complete stop, put it in park, and restart it. No warning, no engine misfires, just abrupt sudden stop. The only common thing is the level of gasoline in the van. As long as it is filled before it gets to 1/4 tank, it doesn't have problems. Took to dealer who could not duplicate problem (had more gas in it) and they said there were no codes. They would not perform diagnostic tests on all systems. Asked them to test power control module since same problem was subject to recall of other 2018 Dodge caravans under recall no. U87 for Chrysler and NHTSA campaign id 18v524000, but they would not, even though vehicle was still under the warranty provided as a certified used vehicle.

Van stalled a few times, out of the blue, while driving at a low speed due to construction. Never had previous problem. Stalled in road while trying to make a left turn into gas station. Got van running and attempted to turn, motor died down to barely a crawl and was about to stall as a semi truck approached us. Gas pedal to the floor, tires squealing barely got out of the trucks way. Engine stalled again, coasted into station but blocking drive. Could not start again, had to push out of the way. It turned out to be the #2 cylinder which is the same issues the 2011-2013's Grand Caravans had a safety bulletin 09-002-14 put out for in 2014. I have attached a copy of my repair bill.

Beginning September 2017 to December 2017 (present): multiple issues related to electrical: (1) engine stalled while driving at 30 mph (city street, driving straight), and lost power steering and brakes; (2) electrical system warning light has been coming on from September 2017 to December 2017 (present). Light often comes on when power window buttons are pressed; battery has been checked; alternator has been replaced twice (!) in December 2017 and warning light still comes on; (3) windows roll themselves down when vehicle is not running; this happened multiple times in winter and cold weather, there is no chance the window was left down by the driver; (4) head and tail lights blink when vehicle is not running; (5) rear seat power outlet not working; (6) rear defroster not working; (7) side mirror defrosters not working. Research into others with similar problems suggest defective tipm.

All the warning lights illuminated for a second before the failure. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle. The vehicle was back to normal. The vehicle was taken to the nielsen Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram dealer located at 175 NJ-10, east hanover, NJ 07936; (973) 884-2100 where the dealer could not diagnose the failure. The vehicle was driven back to the contact's residence. The contact stated that when the vehicle was in the drive gear at the contact's drive way the engine stalled. All the warning lights illuminated for a second prior to the failure. The manufacturer was contacted at 800-992-1997 and was made aware of the failure. The manufacturer asked the contact to take the vehicle to another dealer. A case number 32337129 was provided. The vehicle was towed to the dealer precision Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram located at 1341 NJ-23, butler, NJ 07405; (973) 838-6808 where the vehicle was tested and the failure did not recur. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 80,500.

The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. An independent mechanic informed the contact that the vehicle would be difficult to diagnose because no warning indicators illuminated. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 134,431.

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan 108000 miles. At time of this complaint, we have owned vehicle for only two months. For no apparent reason and no warning; engine will stall. This has happened both at a stop sign and rounding a curve at 30 mph. No engine - no power steering. Hoping this doesn't happen on the highway. Engine also has a 'surge' to it at around 40 mph; not sure if the two are related.

Driving at 10-20 mph, warning lights esp abr and tracing icon flash on and off before engine stalls, happens whether turning, or driving straight. Electrical system fails including power steering, radio flashes off, clock goes to 12:00. Often at speeds 35 -65 mph, same lights flash on and off 10 to 15 times in various distances of 3 miles - 25 miles before stalling, driving down a winding, mountain road in heavy traffic at night at speeds between 60-70mph, same lights flashed on and off, the speedometer needle instantly dropped down to zero then quickly flipped up to current speed each time lights flashed, then they stayed on while I pulled off the road, it stalled in park position. Starts up again without hesitation. Once I went 3 miles without incident, upon returning while at a stop light, same warning lights flashed, when the light turned green, engine stalled. I restarted the engine and I was able to proceed through the green light making a left turn, no other stall the rest of the way home. Regardless if I'm turning left or right, going up hill or down hill or on city street, whether the engine is cold or hot or temperature outside is hot, cold, or raining. It is random, having purchased this used vehicle only 4 months ago, driven less than 1000 miles, I don't feel safe as a female senior citizen traveling alone any distance in this vehicle, previous owner had the dealer replace fuel pump and computer (twice). I have replaced the 1 year old battery due to a hot to the touch cable to the battery, not generating the proper amount of power, also replaced the original computer with a new computer which did not resolve this issue. Numerous complaints were told a win or tipm module would fix this problem which it didn't. 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan recall: ignition replacement. The ignition moves between 'accessories and on' causing engine to stall.

Within minutes of fueling, the engine will stall causing a loss of steering and brakes.

While driving at low speeds (35mph or slower) the vehicle engine has stalled 5 times since July of 2016. The stalling issue happens during the first drive of the day. Happens within the first 3-4 miles of the drive been to the fca dealership twice unable to fix the problem. The power brakes and steering go out due to the engine stall. It has happened on straight roads and during curved roads. I'm able to put the vehicle in neutral and re-start the vehicle. There is no warning or indicator of the stall, only the increased effort to turn or stop the vehicle. Dates of occurrence: 7/16, 8/7, 8/20, 9/3 & 9/17.

Engine stalls while driving in motion-so far has only occurred while driving on city streets but is becoming more frequent. Originally seemed to occur only when not fully warmed up but now is happening at regular operating temperatures also. It has happened both while making turns and while traveling in a straight line. I often don't notice it has occurred until I try to accelerate or turn and discover the loss of power steering and that the tachometer is on "o" rpms. It has become a regularly re-occurring annoyance and has obvious danger potential. I took the car to a dealership for the recall on the win module and was told that the brand of module that this vehicle contained was not the one they were having problems with and would therefore not replace it. They also claimed that the problem we were having was not related to that part. Checking online I find that I am far from the first owner of these vehicles experiencing this problem and that Chrysler corp. Seems to be in denial of a problem and is at a loss as to correction of the problem. Please add my complaint to the growing list of unresolved complaints relating to this vehicle.

My 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan stalls without warning while driving. The stalling has occurred four times and each time I was almost rear ended. The last time it stalled was October 6, 2015 and the first time spring 2011. The stalling has occurred two times on a city street, once on the highway and once on a highway off ramp. It occurs at any speed. When the engine stalls, the van loses the power steering and brakes. Once I can stop the van and put it in park or neutral, it has restarted. When I took the van to the dealer no codes could be read. The engine stalling has occurred prior to and after the replacement ignition parts were installed from the March 1, 2011 (NHTSA reference #11v139000) recall and the June 26, 2014 (#14v373000) recall. The engine stalling is a very dangerous situation because it occurs without warning. After reading online there are many people having this same problem, so please investigate.

The engine stalled twice within 5 minutes of refueling. The vehicle was filled with unleaded 87 octane gas to full. The gas pump auto stopped when full, and the tank was not topped off. The first stall happened while the vehicle was idling at a stop sign approximately 1 minute after fueling. The engine restarted, but stalled again approximately 2 minutes later. The second stall occurred while the vehicle was in motion at approximately 15-20 mph and turning left. The stall left the vehicle without power steering, and the vehicle coasted into a driveway. There was no accident because of light traffic. Under different circumstances or traffic patterns, a stalled engine leaving a moving vehicle powerless likely would cause an accident resulting in possible injury or death. This same problem has occurred approximately 5-6 times in the last 2 years, however I can not be specific on dates. It was only when my wife and I were together this last time that we both commented on the problem, and found that it has happened to each of us several times. I believe any manufacturer defect which causes a moving vehicle to lose power and become uncontrollable while in motion is an extremely serious and potentially deadly problem.

After filling up with gas engine stalled approximately 1/2 mile from the gas station. Had to coast to side of the road without power steering. Placed engine in park, turned of key and restarted. Engine ran rough had to depress accelerator for additional gas. Once restarted engine ran fine for the rest of the trip. This same problem also occurred in early January 1/03/2015 after filling up with gas. Not only is this an inconvenience, but very dangerous in heavy traffic scenarios.

Engine unexpectedly stalls shortly after refuel.

I was driving down the road, the wipers came on, the horn started honking the engine stalled and the lights went off- sat on the side of the road for 30 minutes and it started back up -tipm needs to be replaced.

The vehicle stalls after re-fueling. We re-fuel at different gas stations (brands) and the issue remains. Every time we fill the tank and pull out of the gas station into traffic, the engine sputters after driving approximately two blocks, as if it is not receiving enough fuel. The engine then stalls. The engine can be restarted and will not sputter or stall until the next time we re-fuel it. We encounter this issue weekly, after every fill up. It is a potentially dangerous issue because the vehicle stalls in traffic and could cause a traffic accident.

Over the last several weeks my 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 3. 8 liter engine will stall out several times after refueling. It will restart & stall several times before the problem seems to rectify itself. All power assisted steering is lost and the vehicle becomes difficult to steer safely. Power braking is also affected. There have been a couple of occasions where I have been turning into traffic and had the vehicle stall. One time I was unable to complete the turn and stay in my lane. On one occasion I breached the lane to my left. While traffic was traveling in the same direction I was, another motorist had to slam on the brakes to avoid hitting me.

After filling the tank with gas, the van engine runs rough and then stalls out. This has happened numerous times over the past three to four years. When it happened on tues, October 7, 2014, I had just pulled out of the gas station and was getting ready to cross a busy intersection when the car stalled. I had to quickly put it in to park and restart. Scared me to death. Again, this has happened at least fifty times to me. We have taken it to the dealership and they can never get the problem to happen for them which makes sense because it is only going to happen after refueling.

The contact stated that while driving at 35 mph, the engine stalled and the vehicle would shut off when he toggled the key when it was within the ignition switch. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed the failure of the ignition switch. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. Please include me in the above mentioned complaint/investigation # dp 14-002. After refueling, my engine stalls about 1 to 2 minutes after starting almost every time I fill-up with fuel. When the fueling nozzle trips for the first time, I do not attempt to continue adding more fuel and possibly overfilling the fuel tank. I have been caught in heavy traffic at times with the engine stalling and it takes 2 to 3 attempts to restart the vehicle. This is very dangerous! now after refueling, I pull away from the pumps and park out of the way and allow the engine to stall. After attempting to restart several times, the engine will misfire for about 30 to 45 seconds, then the engine will smooth out and run fine until the next refueling.
