My van shut off for no apparent reason . I couldn't steer it and the brakes wouldn't work . Tried to turn it back on and it did . I have a brand new battery on there .

Second time my van has lost electrical and brakes. Today I was in the drive thru, curving around the building to the left, slight hill at turn. Again, gas gauge goes to empty, this time half of the dashboard is on, no brakes. Was able to turn van off and restart. Towed again to the dealership. This is a major safety malfunction and life threatening!.

My van was parked out side luckys on mitalda near w maude avenue in sunnyvale CA 94086 I was using the water refilling station and started to smell smoke when I turned around I imideatlly noticed that the drivers side rear taillight was on fire. Not having a fire extinguisher I took the bottle of water I had in my hands and started to throw water on it until the flames went out. What in the hell would make that happen? is my van up for recall? I just purchased the van just a week ago. It has been a night mare for me not to mention extremely costly replacing everything's that's been going out. The a/c cluster the dash cluster the power window motor. The rear vent motor. Countless bulbs and fuses.

When I applied the brakes the vehicle kept going it wouldn't srop this happened to me 3xs 2 times I was in a crash the brakes fo low to the floor but when it was checked I was told everything was fine. This last saccident people where with me they witnessed me frantically applying brakes but car wouldnt stop.

I was driving on city street at approximately 40 mph. The engine unexpectedly shut down and I lost power steering and power brakes, nearly losing control of the vehicle. The road was flat and straight, clear weather conditions. I am concerned that this is related to the recall r03 (formerly l25): ignition switch may turn off safety problem on other Chrysler/Dodge models. This is extremely dangerous and needs to be addressed immediately.

As I drive it and put into stop on stop light. The break didnt engage. I had to step all the way out and it engage. It felt like I lost the brake fluid . But then after that. . When the green light went on. . The van just operated itself just1 fine. T after few months. . The van starts out fine but cant be driven. As of now we managed to park it in businesses plaza. And the a/c feels like or sounds like acting up. And now, totally cant be driven .

I was driving straight on a highway in texas in my Grand Caravan and my engine stalled and lost power and steering and brakes, it was very difficult to steer and I was driving at 70 mph and the was a small shoulder on the side and my family could have gotten hurt, if I had gone into a deep ditch, it was scary and dangerous!.

Was driving on the highway in stop and go traffic when the vehicle died. The electrical system was still functional, but the brakes and the power steering were not working and the car appeared to be idling, but non-responsive. Was able to pull over and force the gear into park and turn the car off and when the vehicle turned on no warning lights were displayed.

When I brake hard (for example at a red light), my van shuts off. This has happened multiple times over the last month.

My 2007 Dodge Grand Caravan se can be easily shifted into gear while in auxiliary power, and it sometimes locks out my brakes, as there is a locked steering wheel you can't steer it and can't turn it on without shifting back to park which can be difficult if the brakes lock. A child could easily set it in gear if you are running the air and you leave the car briefly, I do not have kids but I do run some taxi work in the neighborhood. It could be done anywhere as long as it's in auxiliary power to radio and electrics but not fully on.

On 01\02\2020, the abs, brake, and traction control warning lights displayed on the dash. Now into winter, the vehicle no longer has traction control and abs. Diagnostics reveal that the abs module has proper powers and grounds even under load. So far, the only problem is the abs module has a problem with communication, diagnosed at the local independent repair shop. So far the vehicle is not repaired, and continues to be operated with the abs and traction control out of operation.

There have been several issues with this vehicle all happening within several months. We first had issues with the tire tread, then a hole in the water hose and radiator, a hole in the exhaust manifold. Then it was broken pieces in the catalytic converter. Now the current issue is either the brakes seized up or the the caliber is stuck and we are currently unable to drive the vehicle.

February my husband and I financed this car and within less than one month we been experiencing one issue after another. First, the heater hose had a hole in it then after that was the radiator then after we replaced those two now we have a issue with the exhaust modifier as well a issue with the brakes today the tires locked up on us. Could be related to the issues thats been reported on the newer Dodge Grand Caravans.

There was no warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was pulled over and restarted. The vehicle was taken to don miller Dodge Chrysler Jeep (5802 odana rd, madison, WI 53719-1212, 608-270-5000) where a diagnostic test was recommended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The failure recurred four times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

No warning lights illuminated when the contact experienced the failure. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and resume normal driving. She then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where an unknown repair had been performed; however the contact stated that while her husband was driving the vehicle, he experienced the same failure again without warning. The manufacturer had not been notified the manufacturer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The failure mileage was 130,567. Jo.

I was crossing an intersection when 2 cars stopped in front of me making a left turn I tried to stop slammed my brakes no skidding at all and ran into the back of a car totaling my van as of the result of the wreck in wich l felt like there was something wrong with the brakes.

I was driving down the highway when the low tire pressure light came on, then the check engine light came on and then everything went out including the radio and everything on the dashboard. Then it all lit up like a christmas tree and it was like I was free driving and neutral I pressed on the brake and nothing happened. I ended up crashing to the back of someone's car.

Vehicle is stopping very slow. Also is jerking when going from idle to pull off. Breaks require additional stopping room. These issues began immediately after purchase in September 2019. I have seen several online complaints for this same vehicle. There are recalls on similar vehicles.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact's wife was driving at approximately 30 mph when the driver depressed the brakes and received no response. The contact then depressed the brakes all the way to floor and the vehicle still failed to respond;the contact then collided with the vehicle in front of her. No warning lights illuminated prior to the failure. The air bags deployed as a result of the impact. No major injuries were sustained due to the crash, no medical attention was needed for either driver. A police was filed. The vehicle was told to an independent mechanic and sustained front end damage, the vehicle was not destroyed and was not repaired. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer and the manufacture was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 138,000. Jo.

I was driving down a main road all the lights came on in my dash car started beeping, radio came on, windshield whippers came on at high speed, ac came on, lost the ability to steer vehicle or brake with mileage screen switching to different options within that screen. Owned Dodge Grand Caravan rt 2016 one year sliding door on driver side stopped working from one day to next. Then driving down hill from freeway, brakes made a loud screeching sound and the whole van was shaking I thought I was gonna loose control I replace new brakes and drum its better but still shaky going down hill. After month of owning the car I could fill a lil misfire when I give a lil gas but just thought its an rt has power. Well recently my van been in the shop twice for the same problem check engine light came on shows its miss firing (ignition coils) and sparkplugs needed to be replaced. Well we replace all spark plugs and 1 ignition coil because the other coils were still good. Things were good and drove around for 3 weeks then check engine light comes again. Code still shows ignition coil need to be replace. This time replace all 6 ignition coil, guess what I just picked up my van today and 10 min of driving back home check engine light comes on again. Took it back to the mechanic it still miss firing ignition coils. I about ready to throw this van away. This van is only 3 years old how could it possibly have this much problems. In addition when I turn on my signal light on to go right or left my wipers will go off too.

While driving at 35-40mph on a rural zone the steering wheel suddenly felt 'locked' and was extremely difficult to steer. At the same time the brakes were hard to press and the traction control dash light came on. My wife was driving and frightened her very much. The road has a slight curve in it and has oncoming traffic in the opposite lane. She had to forcibly steer the van as best she could against the sidewalk curb to help slow down the van. If she had made it to the freeway when this happened I don't think the results would be the same as far as her safety. I looked up the symptoms and found it to be a common problem and that even a recall might be in place for this issue. Please forward me any info that will help me correct this problem.

After turning off and restarting the vehicle, it resumed normal operation; however, the electric steering control indicator was illuminated. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 87,500.

Tl the contact owns a 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. While driving 30 mph, the traction control indicator illuminated and the steering wheel became difficult to turn. The contact experienced difficulty depressing the brake pedal, which had to be depressed all the way to the floorboard to stop the vehicle. The contact turned off the ignition in the middle of the street and activated the hazard lights. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and drive home. Upon research, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but they were unable to duplicate the failures. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 85,000.

While traveling around 30mph, brakes were applied in a "panic stop" fashion - fast hard depression. The road was straight, clean and dry. Visibility was excellent and the view was clear for about a half mile. When the brakes were applied it felt as though the abs system interfered with braking, causing no actual force to be applied to the brakes. No deceleration was felt by the driver, or any of the other two passengers. Although the brake pedal was fully depressed, the van continued at a speed of about 35mph for an additional 70-80 feet without slowing, and was stopped only by the vehicle it eventually struck. Distinctive injuries on the driver's leg created by the debris of the dash panel also reflect that the leg and foot were aligned with the brake pedal and not "elsewhere". Although this model has a safety recall regarding "surface coating" affecting the braking ability, this VIN was not implicated. Also, this incident did not appear to involve "reduced" braking ability. There was no braking. Other causes are possible, but the best way to describe the behavior of the braking system behaved would be to describe it as though the abs had disengaged all braking abilities so that the pedal had some feedback to the driver, but no discernible effect on slowing the vehicle. It was as though the abs somehow turned the brakes off.

While driving on city street (between 20 and 30 mph) the vehicle engine shut off. The power steering and power brakes also stopped making the vehicle difficult to stop or maneuver to a safe stopping location. There was no warning of a failure and the only indication was the traction control/stability dash indicator. After the vehicle was stopped it was placed in park and restarted, then drove fine. There were still no indications of a failure (cel or ses light). No diagnostic codes were stored on the computer. Because this happens completely unexpected, if it were to occur while going around a curve or in an intersection there is a safety concern.

I bought 2017 Dodge Grand Caravan. Now, the car has 34,940 miles. When I pus the brake when the car speed above 40 miles/hour, the car vibrates. I think the rotor is warped. It is dangerous on the highway because this problem. Talked to Dodge dealership and called Dodge customer care. They both told me it is not covered by the 36month/36,000mile warranty. Searched on the internet, a lot of owner complained the brake problem about Dodge Grand Caravan. Experienced mechanics indicated this is a design issue. Dodge doesn't have a good enough brake for this car. This problem exists for many years and Dodge still unwilling to redesign or cover this design flaw. Dodge should provide special warranty to cover this design flaw and it is a great safety issue NHTSA take the leadership to ask Dodge fix this common problem related to their design.

The van was pulled in to a driveway with a slight tilt, put in park, with the key removed from the ignition, in park. The primary driver almost always uses the parking brake, and believes it was on at this time. The sliding door behind the drivers side door was opened, something taken out, and closed. At that point in time, the van started rolling backward, to the point where it actually impacted the house on the other side of the street. Problem has not been reproducible. Taken to the dealership, they performed basic testing, could not reproduce the problem, but will not state that the car is safe at this point in time.

My wife was driving with my 4 kids aged 13, 11, 8 and 3 when the caravan stalled while in motion at the red light near a major intersection without prior warning. With no power steering or breaks, the van stopped in the middle of the intersection and on coming traffic had to break hard to prevent a collision. Boulevard Dodge Chrysler diagnosed the issue as faulty electrical issue with the fuel pump. The repair cost me $478 (Dec. 3 2018). On Tuesday Jan 15 2019 the car started different electrical problems. When I took the car back to the same dealer they told me the cause is the tipm which would cost about $2000. When I started my research I realized that both issue are related and caused by the tipm. This is an ongoing issue with many models of fca which some vehicles had recalls from fca. I am not the only one who has experiences stalling due to tipm issue on caravan. This is a serious issue and NHTSA as well as transport canada has to protect the public before a serious accident or death occurs. On Feb 14 I had more electrical problems this time with an ignition coil default due to the tipm. Repair cost $ 265. 90. On August 29 the car stalled again in motion while driving on the service road of a major highway. Therefore no power brakes or steering. That is beside the fact that the car won't start or has different flashing lights on the dash board.

After a recall on the steering wheel harness repair, the dealer bud clary in auburn, washington (253-833- 2485. The traction control light on the van flashed on the way home and one of the brakes activated. This never happened prior to the repair. This had continued and has gotten worse to where the car attempts to stop on the freeway going 60 - 70 mph (depending on the speed zone) that could cause a lock up or worse. There are no codes given to indicate why this is happening.

My van will die at times going down road or just not start, after parking it. Then the check engine and stability control flashes on dash. Will not come out of park. Then it may start randomly and run for a few weeks or couple of months and do same thing again. We have put new brakes, battery, checked fuel pump, and put new tires and had censors on wheels checked. Still does not start. T.

2010 Dodge Grand Caravan. Car shuts down while drive. Causes to have no steering or breaks. No warning before it happens. On street moving. Unknown of what is actually happening or why it is doing this.
