Air Bag Problems of Dodge Intrepid

I had just came from atlanta GA. I turn into my apartment complex and I heard something pop. That's when I learn my air bag messed up it knock out my cigarette lighter. And my car horn. It warp my stearn wheel. I contacted the Dodge dealer ship and told them what happen I ask them if it was recall on air bags. I knew it was a maualfactor defect. Because that bag should not have messed up like that. It didn't deploy all the way out but it messed up my stearn wheel and I would like for them to fix it. I'm still driving the car.

The air bag system in my Dodge has failed four times since March/April 2007. It has been repaired 3 times. Each time for a different reason. The car has less than 34,000 miles on it and has never been involved in an accident or damaged in any way. This will be the fourth service call for an air bag alarm.

2003 Dodge Intrepid -problem started approximately one week ago. Air bag failure light flickers when motor is running possible deployment without warning and with cause anticipated by manufacturer will be corrected when time and funds become available.

My 1996 Dodge Intrepid, while moving forward at approximately 20 - 25 miles per hour struck an abruptly stopped vehicle. The airbag deployed late. Even while wearing my seatbelt, my forehead struck the top of the steering wheel, causing injury, and directly after thus my airbags deployed.

Coolant would completely discharge randomly and the plastic harness inside the steering wheel breaks while turning, thus rendering the horn / airbag useless. The harness is a $400+ repair and the coolant system resulted in $2800 in repairs due to a chain effect of problems. It all stemmed from a defect overfill cap and water pump. The coolant discharge occurs on the drivers side wheel-well and could easily cause loss of control. It would be nice to have a functioning air bag if that were to happen.

Air bag failure.

While driving, the vehicle stalled. The computer was replaced and the air bag was fixed. After the vehicle was picked up, the vehicle stopped again in traffic and caused many near misses. Then the electrical harness was replaced.

While traveling at 30 to 35 mph, the consumer slammed into another vehicle that ran a stop sign. None of the air bags deployed. The dealer has been contacted. Refer to cl 11682195.

The consumer was driving approximately 35 mph when another vehicle hit the driver's front. Neither air bag deployed upon impact. There were injuries to driver and passenger. Please provide further information.

Transmission slips, shifts rough, sometimes will not go into gear at all,sometimes it will not shift out of first gear.

While driving at 30 mph the vehicle was involved in a frontal collision but none of the air bag deployed upon impact. As a result the driver sustained head injuries.

While starting my vehicle in my driveway the air bag deployed hitting me in the side of the head while I was leaning forward to get my date book.

While traveling 25-30 mph, another vehicle pulled out in front of the consumer resulting in a frontal collision in which neither air bag deployed, both the driver and passenger sustained injuries. Ts.

I have extended warranty and this was not covered why not a recall this is a very serious problem and should be covered under warranty. No safety defect listed.

This vehicle has been in the dealer 4 times and has 1500 miles. The major problem, was a major water leak or leaks. The vehicle has been out of service for a total of 20 days. After finding a huge puddle on the driver's side floor, dealer was contacted, and vehicle was taken apart inside and out. After dealer performed recommended repairs per technical service bulletin(980710232998), vehicle still leaked. Dealer "sealed" every screw, grommet, and wire that entered firewall. After sending car through car wash six times, vehicle appeared leak-free. It remains to be seen if the many leaks in vehicle have actually been corrected since dealer could not pinpoint the location of any leak.

Head on collision with no deployment of air bags.

The air bag cover is inoperative.

Takata recall: I was involved in a head on collision in which the airbag deployed and a piece of metal went through my eye causing immediate blindness and subsequent loss of the left eye. The piece of metal was pull out in the er. There were no other injuries. This happened on a city street in detroit mi traveling about 20 mph. I've been wearing a prosthetic eye since.

The vehicle was rear ended and the front seatbacks broke backwards and the car hit another and neither airbag deployed.

While driving at 25/30 mph air bag clockspring module failed. This resulted in air bag, horn, and cruise control malfunctioning. Dealership replaced the clockspring.

Driver's side seat back unexpectedly reclined while driving. As a result, driver's foot hit accelerator pedal and vehicle went into an intersection, hitting another vehicle. None of the airbags deployed.

After vehicle was purchased it was then discovered that vehicle was not equipped with air bags. Please give any further details.
