Front Air Bag Sensor Control Problems of Dodge Intrepid

While driving 40 mph driver noticed that the srs light appeared on the dashboard and remained on. Vehicle was taken to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the srs sensor needed to be replaced. Updated 12/7/2005. The air bag light is still on and the mileage had disappeared.

While driving srs light appeared on the dashboard. Steering wheel locked, and the horn became inoperative. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it home. The cause had not been determined.

Air bag warning light comes on and off when driving. This problem occurs intermittently. The consumer feels that the failure is consistent with a recall he received on his 1999 Dodge caravan.

The airbag light is illuminated on my dashboard. I have a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. Have never had an accident or needed any other major repair. I took my car to the dealer and he advised that the airbag control module was broken with a repair cost of $288. 00. This conveniently for Dodge is not covered under my warranty. Im looking for further evidence that a recall is needed for this airbag control module.

When the vehicle is turned on the airbag light stays on . The manufacturer has been notified.
