My 2004 Dodge Intrepid was in an accident. Over 5 miles per hour front end damage. Air bags did not deploy. When car insurance looked at car said motor seized at the scene of accident but not from accident. Terrible car, terrible auto insurance. Now paying for a car that is sitting at a garage.
The airbag light will not go off it stays on all the time when it is on the heater windows horn and rear back up lights and rear defroster do not work
with no heater/defroster it is near impossible to keep the ice off the inside and outside of the windows even while having the passenger constantly trying to scrape off the ice it just instantly re freezes causing very dangerous and hazardous driving conditions due to this the car went off the road and crashed into a deep ditch the air bags did not deploy and we had to be towed out of the ditch with a hoist and a lift and back to the road by a commercial wrecker
from what I have seen and heard when searching the internet for information this problem is most likely caused by the clock stop the same problem which prompted a recall on Dodge and Chrysler Mini vans of the same year why wasn't this car recalled too? I know I am not the only one with this problem there are thousands and thousands of complaints listed on the internet for this same problem by other Dodge Intrepid owners this is a very serious safety hazard also the fact the windows don't work can cause entrapment in the vehicle.

We were in a car accident on June 13, 2008. We were traveling east in a 2004 Dodge Intrepid on a 2 lane street and in the opposite lane a 2001 Ford f-150 pickup truck was traveling west. The owner of the truck that was traveling west failed to yield to oncoming traffic and proceeded to make a left hand turn into a driveway. As we can over a hill traveling at rates of speed of 25-30 mph was when the driver made his turn. Upon impact the whole front bumper of the Intrepid came off, smoking and grinding sounds were very loud. The hood folded up and the headlights flew off. The damage to the Intrepid was very bad. The airbags never deployed in the Intrepid. The police report listed this as a head on collision. As of right now I was the passenger in the Intrepid and have sustained some very serious nerve damage and a shoulder injury. As well as bruising across my chest. But our concern is that when we bought our car we were told that the airbags would work in a accident. Which they failed to do.
I was wearing my seatbelt traveling 30 miles per hour in my 2001 Dodge Intrepid ES. My right font tire somehow snapped while I was traveling in a straight course and did not hit any debris or potholes while on the road. I had no control of any steering while it happened and crashed into and oncoming car at 30mph as I said I had my seatbelt on and hit the right front side of the opposing vehicle. The result was a 4 inch gash in my forehead from the b bar of the vehicle because the seatbelt didn't properly restrain me even though it was adjusted to proper shoulder height and pulled tight around my waist. The air bags did not deploy in the car at all. As a result I suffered injuries resulting in the payment of $2900 to my local hospital and ambulance business. The vehicle had passed an inspection just a couple months earlier had a tuneup and inspection for worn jball joints fittings wires hoses and wires and bolts which cost a large sum of money. A few minor parts were replaced and the car was deemed to be in safe working order.

My wife hit a tree head-on going approx. 30 mph. She suffered injuries to her face, neck, back, wrist and knee. Airbag did not deploy. Contacted Chrysler, they picked-up the car and performed diagnostic evaluation from the computer and sent a letter stating the airbag was not defective. I find it hard to believe that the airbag was not defective as the impact and damage to the vehicle is significant.

I ran directly into an abandoned car that I did not see (it was dark outside). The impact to the other car was strong because my daughter's glasses flew off of her face. The impact was mainly on the right front side which if she did not have her seatbelt on, could have caused her to hit the windshield. We went to the emergency service at the hospital and I found out at that time that she had a pain in her neck for a very short period of time directly after the accident, but it left. I am concerned about why the airbags did not deploy.
