Consumer received recall campaign 04v0021000 for floor shifter ignition park interlock. Mechanic informed the driver that shifter cable was stretched, and driver was responsible for the payment of $200. 00 to fix the problem. Driver informed the mechanic that recall repairs were not performed, and the issue had not been resolved.
Consumer called local dealer to get vehicle repaired under recall 04v021000, but no parts were available. Recall campaign: safety recall - transaxle floor shifter ignition/park interlock daimler Chrysler notification c45. As of 8/18 the parts were still not available.

While the vehicle was running or parked and when the ignition switch was placed in the on position, consumer could move the vehicle while shifting from park to reverse ,and to neutral without applying the brake pedal. Consumer received a recall notice for replacement of transmission axle floor shifter park interlock ignition. The work was performed. But consumer informed the mechanic that this problem recurred. Dealer and manufacturer were aware of the problem, but there was no solution.

Safety recall transaxle floor shifter ignition/ park interlock. The vehicle was taken to the dealer fro recall repair. The dealer requested that he consumer leave the vehicle for the next two days so they could repair the problem. The consumer could not understand why the dealer was not willing to provide him with a loaner vehicle until the repairs were made.
