2 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2018

My Dodge is doing this, dealership won't fix it, my VIN shows no recall. My Journey does this exactly like below. Now have to pull out fuel pump fuse, disconnect battery just to get the car to shut off. . . . . . . . . . 2010 Journey ignition switch may turn off posted 2015-05-26 NHTSA has assigned this recall id #14v373000. There are 722,705 vehicles affected. Recall summary this defect can affect the safe operation of the airbag system. Until this recall is performed, customers should remove all items from their key rings, leaving only the ignition key. The key fob (if applicable), should also be removed from the key ring. Chrysler group llc (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 Dodge Journey vehicles manufactured June 29, 2007, to June 17, 2010, and 2008-2010 Dodge grand caravan and Chrysler town and country vehicles manufactured January 26, 2007, to June 17, 2010. Road conditions or some other jarring event may cause the ignition switch to move out of the run position, turning off the engine. The problem if the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash.

3 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 12/25/2017

I just had to replace the ignition switch, knowing other Dodge Journeys had a recall, but of course not mine, yet there are so many complaints about electrical issues with my specific model I have no clue why they were not recalled! to add insult to injury this may or may not fix the issues I'm having. My airbag light goes on and off randomly and often leaving my car and family vulnerable. My etc and traction control lights along with my engine light come on randomly and throw my car into limp mode while im on the highway with kids in the car. The lights clear themselves out when I turn the car off then on. . . So it has been impossible to diagnose but has made me susceptible to break downs and near death experiences. The electrical issues in this car have been many and quite expensive. . . The latest bill was $750 & most likely did not fix the problem. I will never buy another Dodge product. Thos is an unreliable vehicle that is quite dangerous to drive!.

18 Ignition Switch problem

Failure Date: 10/10/2014

After driving approximately 10 - 20 miles, I shut the vehicle off and when I went back to start it about 1 hour later, it would not start. There was a click and nothing. After several attempts and maybe 5 minutes later, the vehicle started. I had no further issues until March 17, 2015 when I went to start my vehicle and again nothing happened. Thinking it was a battery, I had it checked out and was told at that time that there was a recall on 2010 Journey ignition switches. The recall states that it is on vehicles that were built prior to June 2010. Even though my vehicle was built in may 2010, it is not included in the recall. I don't think I should have to pay $700 out of pocket to fix an obvious defective part. Please, I would like to know why my vehicle was not included in the recall.

The ignition switch in the car gets "loose" over time. This causes the key to move to a different postion, when this happens all electrical goes out or goes on/off in rapid succession. I can jiggle the key and can get the electrical to work again. At best, this is very distracting and I take my eyes off the road. At worst I have lost electrical components such as the cruise control while driving the dealer has replaced the part 2 times.
