general problems of the 2015 Dodge Journey - part 2

I have made several attempts to fix the continual misfiring, loss of power while driving performance to no avail. After spending thousands of dollars at the local Dodge dealership(s) and mechanics, I now have a car that is unsafe to drive due to known issues with the 3. 6 pentastar engine. This engine was recalled by Chrysler for years prior to my 2015 year. However, the Dodge cars like my Journey are experiencing the very same problems. I have reached out to my state of consumer department in georgia. They have referred me to NHTSA as they have declared it a safety issue which outside of their scope.

I have 94,000 miles and transmission is slipping.

Power surging or fuel surging during accelerating. When I try to get up to speed it is like it cuts out on fuel and surges.

When I look at the message boards for this Dodge make of car there are endless mentions of this problem and something needs to be done about people endlessly spending money to fix a. Problem that Dodge knows is causing these problems. Just bought my son this car and 3 days later the car will not start in the morning. Setting in the driveway at home. Was able to jump the vehicle to get it started only it to not start again when returning from work 6 hours later parked in a parking garage. Drove out there had to jump vehicle again. Bought new battery and replaced car did the same thing 8 hours later, used battery checked good as well as the alternator. Got online and found all of these suggestions to override a safety feature in the car that seemed to work for a lot of people but did not work for us. Please look at all the online complaints for this situation and make Dodge fix this problem, I travel extensively and my wife is sick with cancer and I'm not there nor is she able to help with getting this fixed every 8 hours to 3 days depending on how long it lasts.

Driving down the interstate my Journey just �shut down. � once getting it to a shop they informed me that the engine was probably the cause. The vehicle is at 119,323 miles and dropped a cylinder resulting in having to replace the entire engine.

. Smoking vehicle power switch goes off and on locking vehicle while I am driving or has in the past gone off and on locking my children in the vehicles.

My vehicle has about 124,000 miles on it. Out of the blue one day it started sputtering. I figured it needed a tune up so I took it in and they told me I needed to take it to the dealer. It has to do with the sixth cylinder misfiring. I took it in in March and they have had the car ever since. They have no parts to fix it and told me that it is a common problem with that vehicle after 100,000 miles. They have contacted Chrysler to make the parts for it.

I went to turn on my car and it was completely dead, and the key would not open the car. Someone came to help and checked the battery which was fully working perfectly, but the car was completely dead still, no power running anywhere. I went to google the problem and like me there hundreds of people who have gone through the same problem. It seems that the car goes into locked-down mode by itself unless you disconnect the battery and the computer reboots there's nothing that will make it work. Locally this happened in my building's parking lot, I did unhook the battery which rebooted the computer and the car turned on.

Head on collision at a traffic light. I was making a left turn it was raining and the other car was going straight . He took the light on red and we both hit head on . I hit my head on the steering wheel and side window . Air bag did not deploy hit my head pretty bad and my back and neck were in pain had to take off work and lost my only car and job . Went to therapy for a while my concern was why didn't the air bags deploy . The other cars air bags deployed. I had an eye witness and police report but I still loss the battle . Still paying for a car that doesn't work. Pls if u can help me resolve this it will be a big help. I still fill pain in my neck from the accident. I don't want to take legal actions I just want what is right . Thank you.

As I was driving through a grocery parking lot, I remember taking my foot off of the accelerator to slow down and to make a right turn up an isle to go to a parking spot. Once my foot came off of the accelerator, my car died, no brakes, and no steering. The electrical continued to work as my music was still playing and the flashers worked as well. I put the car in park, and pushed the start button, nothing happened. I tried a couple more times and then my car started back up. I drove to a parking spot, shut the car off and turned it back on. I drove back home with no issues and put her in the garage. I'm very nervous, to say the least as I have to drive to work tomorrow. I hope this does not occurs as I'm driving 55 mph.

Precisely on 7. 3. 19 I had 4 of my children with me heading to a holiday parade. My car w/o warning completely stopped in the middle of a road. No power, no brakes, no steering. Air was still blowing; radio still playing. My daughter and I pushed my car to the curb, my husband came and pushed my car further to avoid an accident. After several attempts the car restarted and restarted fine. Drove another . 5 city block; stopped at a stop sign, pulled out and my car died again in the middle of the intersection. My husband was still behind me & pushed us out. We drove home. He looked under the hood, nothing stood out. I didn't get any warnings on the dash. The car has driven fine until 7. 5. 19. My daughter and I just turned onto calumet Ave; a very busy and dangerous road and my car died again. Several cars flying around us laying on their horn. I do not have power to turn, to brake. My daughter and I got out and push my car into a parking lot that has a slight uphill entrance. It was not easy, it was dark outside. A very dangerous situation. I can only flip my hazard lights on, well what does that do when a car is flying up behind me at 40-50mph? I am terrified my car is going to die and my family and I are going to get seriously hurt and/or killed. Reading on the internet there seems to be many people with the same issue and Dodge is not responding. I have children who require trips to indianapolis for medical issues and it is a 3-4 hour drive for us. Speed limit is 70. I cannot afford to trade this in and purchase a new car. I do not where else to go for help. If you call a mechanic or the dealership they tell you that can't help without looking at it. Dodge dealer denies ever hearing of it before which I don't believe. Neither of course will do a free inspection. I get it they're there to make money. Recall should be issued to fix this before it becomes deadly.

2015 Dodge Journey purchased new car wont start cant move gear shifter to nuteral or any other gear seems to be a bad problem with them I've checked google for solutions and apparently this is a real problem for this car as many complaints as I've read I've tryed everything I can to solve this problem.

My car dies while I'm driving engine just stops.

My Journey will turn off sitting a stop light or just turn off while accelerating from a stop position. Entering or exiting traffic. When checking engine light the camshaft sensor was defective. This causing my car to turn off.

Key fob should not go out so soon. Car do not start. I changed battery. It will unlock and lock doors but do not start. I called Dodge 8004236343 and they told me that I can start it with the key but there is no where to put the key other than the door. Then they asked me to put the key fob to the push start on the opposite side of where I insert the emergency key and press to start and that did not work. They walked me through step by step and it still does not work. Plus my car shakes while driving.

I have a 2015 Dodge Journey that has had major problems with it. Before the car was even a year old it was taking into the shop for transmission problems. The car completely shut off on me while driving in the middle of a busy intersection while I was turning left. The car would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. At that point, the service was escalated to a higher department and a high level repair person was brought in. Less than 15,000 miles later, the car began heavily shaking every time it was driven. The find was that there was a missing bolt in the tie rod. The service man said there was no reasonable excuse that could explain how this would even occur. Today, the car is in the shop for the second time in three days. Initially for the batter light coming on while driving. I was told there was a loose wire and some corrosion on the batter but that it was repaired. Less than 24 hours later then light came on again while driving this time with the warning on the panel that read battery saving mode. I immediately returned the car to the shop. Waited all day yesterday only to be given the same explanation that was previously given. Upon further probing I discover the car had never even been re inspected. The car continues to be in the shop has has been undrivable for 4 days now. I have a 6 year old sone who is transported in the vehicle daily. I'm beginning to fear for his safety in the car given its history and will no longer place him in harms way by driving in this car. The unbelievable serious problems that have occurred with this vehicle are alarming. Especially, given the fact that there is no clear explanation as to why the issues are arising. These are not normal wear and tear complications. These are serious manufacturing issues.

Tl the contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. While driving unknown speeds, the steering wheel was difficult to turn and failed to move. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (turpin Dodge Chrysler and Jeep, 90 kennedy rd, dubuque, IA 52002) where it was diagnosed that the power steering hose pump failed and there was metal debris in the transmission and engine. The contact was informed that the vehicle needed a transmission and engine flush. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact that the repairs were not included in a recall. The failure mileage was 60,000.

While driving down the highway, my alternator went out. The battery light came on and all of the lights started flashing. I managed to exit the freeway and get to a safe point. I am reporting this because I see that there was a recall on 2011 - 2014 models. The very same thing happened to my vehicle.

Shortly after purchasing the vehicle I noticed that it jerked as I drove. Several months ago the jerking got a little worse but I was under the impression that it was my brakes. As I was driving the other day I felt several jerks and then the call came to a complete stop with all of the power still being. I shut the car off and restarted it. The car started up perfectly fine as I shifted it into drive the car started shaking again and shut down. I did the same routine for several tries and every time I put it into either drive or reverse the car would shut down. If I put the car in neutral the car was perfectly but if I put it in drive or reserve.

2015 Dodge Journey. Consumer writes in regards to vehicle engine malfunction and other issues. The consumer stated the rear heater was inoperable. The blower motor was replaced.

Driving on a major highway when all of a sudden, I noticed my speed dropping. I pushed on the gas but got no response. Then traffic began to stop but I couldnt! my brakes did not work!!! I put my hazzard lights on and began to drift across 3 lanes of traffic because the steering also did not work!!!! I almost caused several accidents as I was unable to control my vehicle. I made it to the emergency lane and pushed the emergency break coming to a joilting stop. Once I caught my breath and stopped shaking, I was able to restart the vehicle. I then exited the highway and crept across town back to the dealer where I had just left getting my oil changed prior to this incident. They checked out the vehicle but found no bad codes or any other issue so there is no fix for something they could not re-create. . This is my 3rd Journey (2010, 2011, 2015) and I believe this is an accident waiting to happen. I had no issues with the prior two years. I am terrified of driving this vehicle now especially noting so many other complaints of the same issue.

I purchased my vehicle in November 2015, just two weeks ago while stopped at a light my vehicle just turned off . When trying to restart my vehicle jolted then turned on, I took to the dealership they stated all it needed was a software update and it would fix it and that it would never happen again. While 4 days later it happened again this time the vehicle was in motion we were turning a corner and bam the car turns off again almost getting slammed by another vehicle. I had to help my. Husband pull the wheel to turn, the steering wheel locked braked didn't work or accelerator. I opened a case with Chrysler and they say they can't do anything for me. I really need help. With this some please help this is a unsafe vehicle.

On early December 2015, water leak inside my vehicle, I brought the vehicle to kendall Dodge, the back seat containers were fill with water, the carpet was wet as well, kendall Dodge keep the vehicle for a one an a half week, when they call me to advised me that the vehicle was ready when I show up to the dealer to pick up the car the case manager show me the vehicle it was noted that the back seat container were half way with water, I ask the case manager what was done in my vehicle she couldn't answer she apologized and she told me that she will send the car back to the shop, 3 days later they call me again to tell me that the vehicle was ready, when I pick up the car an inspection was done and it was noted that the back container had rust, I ask again, no response, since the beginning of this I been in contact with Chrysler, I had requested mold test or replacement of the carpet, the vehicle smells bad had rust I dont know if it has mold Chrysler keep giving me the run around, this vehicle was new when it was purchase may 26 2015, in addition the transmission keep giving me problems it seems that they are defaulting in the agreement that was made when I purchase and sign for this vehicle, I have two little girls and they spend a lot of time in this vehicle going to school and places and am not sure if this vehicle is safe for them, please help my tel: 305-496-2029.

In Dec 2015 I received a recall notice and was informed that another notice would be sent when I was to contact the dealer. This is for the anti-lock brake system. The 2nd notice was received in jan16. I called the dealer on 1/4 and 1/21/16 and was told they did not have and did not know when they would have the part to make the repair. They said they would take my name and number and put me on the waiting list and call me when the part was in. It is 3/1/16 and I had not heard from landmark Dodge where I purchased the vehicle from and had been in contact with. I called them to see if they had the part and guess what they said they just happen to get 5 in today! however they could not schedule the repair until 4/1/16. We are talking about the brake system here. 4 months to do a repair that the manufacturer knew was required for safety sake. I really feel the NHTSA should look into this. Also this is the 2nd recall on this vehicle and I have not even owned it for a year yet. The first was the engine beauty cover which we had to wait for that part on also. We have been forced to drive with a faulty anti-lock brake system control module on this vehicle for at least 3 months. And that was just since we were notified. This is unreasonable and a safety issue that really should be addressed. And I don't think the dealer was even going to call me back as they said they would. Thank you.

When I attempted to start the vehicle by placing my foot on the break and pressing the start engine button, the car initially began to start but then shut off (it was on a half tank of gas). I released the break, and then made a second attempt; pressing the break and pressing the start engine button. This time the engine repeated the initial vehicle start sound (as if it were coughing), until I hit the start engine button to turn cancel the process or turn the engine off. The vehicle started successfully on third attempt. When I got home, I noticed that the vehicle's engine icon was on - not blinking, just on. I turned off my engine, and then turned it back on and the engine icon lit up again. This morning when I was discussing it with my husband he let me know that a few days ago the Journey hood was popped. I don't even know where the hood popper is, and none of my personal belongings got snagged on anything so I don't believe I am the one who popped it.

I have had my new 2015 Journey since March 2015. The first incident was in June 2015. I was driving and my car died while driving. I was in the middle of the road thank god no one hit me from behind. I put my vehicle in park and restarted it and it started so I thought ok it was a one time thing. Nope again in July it did the exact same thing while my husband and my kids were in the car. The car restarted so I took it in to the dealership for the second time where they kept my car for 2 days and could not find anything wrong with it. So I took it home and the very next day it died again. I now have a open repair case with Chrysler however I have been going back and forth like a ping pong ball. I fear for the safety for myself and family as I do not trust my car. I am trying to work with them to get me a new car before I go to see a lemon law lawyer, I would love to hear from anyone who has posted concerns with their Journeys as to where you are in your fight with Dodge? I am so upset as I brought this new vehicle to avoid repair problems and I understand every car has its issues but I have only had mine for 5 months!!.
