Power Steering Pump Problems of Dodge Journey

Knowing that certain models of Journey are included in a steering lines problem mine is not but it's experience some weird issues when you turn right in the standing still mode it offers absolutely no assistance from the system. You start riding and then it's kind of normal. The pump is no leaking or making any weird noises, only when you attempt to turn right in the stand still position it makes a funny noise follow by no assistance whatsoever. Power steering pressure line ruptured in freezing weather causing the pump to fail. Pump and line need to be replaced.

This is the second year in a row we have to replace the power steering lines. Last year the return line burst while driving. Now just yesterday ( 02/09/2021) a line burst again while driving. The vehicle only has this issue in the winter. It started to be almost impossible to steer. It felt like the power steering pump was locking up.

My wife drive this vehicle mostly to work and I am afraid for her to drive anymore I had to replace the brake calibres they lock up and then I end up replacing the roeder and the brake pads they are also the power steering pump I had to replace and the hoses for it has busted a few times. I have luckily been the one driving when it has done any of those things. I'm afraid of my wife to drive it anymore. It is her car. I own a Dodge dakota and love it,but the Journey is a terrible made vehicle. I'm not expecting anything from this just want Dodge to know, but I'm sure they already do.

Cars horn starts beeping whenever it wants. Traction control goes off whenever it wants keeping us from getting car in drive. Lost power to everything when driving down highway. Return line of power steering pump has ruptured 6 times in the last year. It just did it again 1-20-2019. The last rupture wasted the pump.

My wife was driving our 2011 Dodge Journey to work on city streets the steering suddenly became very stiff. Hard to turn. Looking at the power steering fluid reservoir it was empty and fluid still dripping out from under the car near the passenger side door. After towing the car to dealership and a $1000 repair bill problem fixed. I was told the power steering hose had ruptured and had to replace the pump as it had run dry. Dodge says recall s08 does not apply as this model does not have a block heater. (what would that have to do with the power steering?) I noticed later on the same city street where I had traveled a large rainbow oil slick. May have been where the line ruptured.

Power steering pump making whining noise. Service shop replaced cracked hose, adv may have been due to extreme cold weather, occured in Jan 2014(mn) -25 -30 below temps at that time. Second occurance was in March, different hose, again may/may not have been result of cold, adv would need to replace the entire fluid routing system. 1 large part with hose/piping. Was able to carefully cut the split part and re-attatch the hose. Car has ran fine, no issues, until noe Dec 2014 cold weather appears to affect pump/hoses.

I was driving and the low tire pressure indicator came on. I pulled over to a parking lot and proceeded to add air to the tire using an air pump. After filling the tire with air and attempting to dislodge the air pump hose. The end of the tire stem broke off inside of the tire pressure gauge causing the tire to deflate completely. I noticed that the tire stem looked corroded, and I immediately googled the problem with this tire stem and learned that there are numerous complaints where the tire stems on the vehicle corrode (which mine did exactly) and then break off while most are driving. In addition to this problem the vehicle antifreeze reservoir's crack causing the antifreeze to leak out on a constant basis. This too is a item which should have been recalled long ago.
