The contact owns a 2015 Dodge Journey. While coming to a stop and depressing the brake pedal, the steering wheel vibrated and made a loud noise. The failure occurred when the brake pedal was depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 3,000.
The vehicle was in an accident on November 26, 2015. The steering wheel was shaking uncontrollably. This has been an issue since purchase. The braking was not accurate. The car would lose steering functionality along with braking capacity and has become hazardous while driving. On November, 26th, 2015, an accident occurred due to the malfunction of this vehicle. At this time, the parts to replace the malfunctioned parts were not available. I have received 2 recall notices for my brand new truck. My 2 year old daughter and I were injured in this accident.

While driving my vehicle on a long distance road trip, which I do quite often, the steering wheel began to vibrate as I was decreasing the speed from 65 miles per hour. I have since had my tires replaced and the tpms on one of my wheels became corroded. The problem still persisted. I had my back brakes replaced, the problem still persisted. I had my wheels aligned, the problem still persisted. My mechanic is currently replacing the axle along with my front brakes. Hopefully, this fixes the problem. My daughter is in college and my family and I will be making 8 hour road trips often. I am financially obligated to this vehicle and need it to service my families needs. Dodge needs to ensure that their vehicles are safe and reliable.

Just like many 2009 and 2010 Journey owners, I too have experienced the vehicle not turning over to start. It has happened approximately 2 dozen times in the past 2 months at random. Sometimes the vehicle will not start 3 times in one day and then the problem will not occur for another week. Once the key is in the ignition and I turn it, I have battery power, it simply will not push through to actually start the vehicle. This is very irritating and I have not been able to duplicate for the dealer so of course they will do nothing for me. I also have noticed that on the freeway, when getting above 60 the steering wheel feels shaking which is quite terrifying and then if I go to break, it feels very wobbly. Again, not something that I can reproduce at the dealer and therefore cannot be fixed. I loved my car for the first couple years I owned it, but lately it is not up to par and worries me to drive with my 2 kids in fear of the unpredictable steering issue or being stranded if it decides to not start at all.
I am currently the owner 2010 Dodge Journey awd. I have had to replace tires, brakes, and rotors numerous times; noise from driver door, windows rolling down and doors unlocking by themselves, hard shifting in automatic transmission, car pulsates/steering wheel vibrates violently when braking starting at about 40 mph. I have frequent problems with the locks and alarm when temperatures drop below 40 f, car does not always lock or unlock using either key fob or by pressing button in car, must press it multiple times. Lock mechanism could be heard attempting to turn, lock next to window appeared to be jumping slightly. I have been having problems with my car not starting for several months. I would have to take the key fob out, turn it around, and insert it again. It shut off on me as I was driving 65mph on a main highway. . Almost causing a crash. Ran a diagnostic and it came back that my module was bad, I checked online and it seems there was a recall on this module but only for the "ring. " I contacted the Chrysler and after two weeks of going back and forth with them and the dealership, they informed me they would not help due to high mileage and out of warranty. We are told only dealerships can get this part, install it, and program it. My google searches on this issue shows way too many results for this not to be a serious issue that Chrysler refuses to take responsibility for. A recall needs to be done on this part as well with all of the 2010 Dodge Journey's not just the ones from a certain plant. Once I turn off the car, you can hear the computer shutting itself down and making all kinds of noise, then it appears to reboot, the radio will turn on and stays on for five min. The automatic starter starts on it's own once you shake the key fob. . No need to press the button anymore?! khumo tires on this vehicle have been replaced twice in one year.
My 2011 Dodge Journey steering wheel shakes quite hard when braking and pulls to the right. Took car to dealer and was told that the brake rotors were warped. The car only has 14,000 miles and dealers said brakes were like new. This would appear to be premature to me as well as a safety issue. This is not covered by warranty.

The car has been shaking for a few months now, worse when braking. Twice now, we have had to stop abruptly and the front brakes did not work correctly. Once it did cause a minor accident. There is a loud grinding sound from the front wheel area and poor stopping and the steering wheel shakes. It has been to the dealer four times now for the same complaints. They replaced the rear rotors for some reason. Now they are replacing the front rotors. The dealer claimed there have been no reports of braking/steering problems for this year/model so they do not know what to do. The problem is much worse at interstate speeds of 60+. The dealer service center also advised us that after 12000 miles, the rotors/brakes/etc will not be covered by warranty although it has been a noticeable issue since within a few months of purchase.
At approximately 5000 miles, and less than 5 months old, my 2011 Dodge Journey, began to shake violently (steering wheel) when I slowed down. At first, it began at approx 52 miles an hour, and was noticeable going down small hills. It has progressively become worse; violently shaking anywhere from 30-60 miles, with the steering wheel shaking so hard it becomes difficult to manage. I first noticed it early in September. I took it to the dealer on 9/15, who confirmed that it was defective rotors. Was told the rotors would be ordered and I would be called promptly. I emailed the service manager on 9/19, and he advised it, along with a defective dash board that was bubbling, would be handled by his corporate contact, and I would receive a call. I have not. On 10/4, I received a general email from the salesman who sold me the car, checking to see how I liked the car. I explained to him the situation. On 10/5, I received an email from his manager, who said they were aware of the situation and would be contacting me soon. That was a week ago, and no contact. I have been driving in what I believe to be an extremely dangerous car. I have two children and have to drive my car to work and to care for an ill husband and mother. I am on the road a lot, and it is scary for the car to shake so violently. I believe the rotor issues obviously are damaging the brakes, but also the tires. I bought this car brand new, and to have it fail so early is very upsetting, as well as scary. I understand there were issues with the 2009-2010 Journeys as well, but was assured by the sales team at Dodge that it had been addressed and resolved and would not be an issue with the 2011 models. Please help.
2009 Dodge Journey sxt. In the year I have owned it, I have replaced brakes twice, as rite now I am replacing them cause they started squeaking a week ago and today they locked up. Also replacing one of the calipers. Any time I take a hard left turn, there is a loud grinding noise. I have replaced the tires already, and have had to replace the rear 2 again recently. Any time I go to brake when going over 40 mph, the steering wheel shakes uncontrollably. I have also recieved a recall from a local dealership for a wiring harness in drivers side. When I went in to dealership, they put it on order and said they would call when it came in, but never did. That was 6 months ago.
