The contact owns a 2007 Dodge Magnum. While driving approximately 30 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle revved, but failed to accelerate. The failure recurred numerous times. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the transmission failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the contact had to replace the transmission again one year later. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 135,000.

My transmission suddenly failed while I was on a very busy highway, the long island expressway. I was driving in the left lane when suddenly I was not able to operate the vehicle. The car stopped. No prior warnings, no recall from Dodge.

2005 Dodge Magnum - transmission failure 2 times in 1 week. Known issue with Dodge - service bulletin issued. Transmission was repaired as per bulletin - picked up car from Dodge repair, jasper Dodge, jasper alabama, drove 115 miles with 3 year old and 7 year old in vehicle and transmission shut down doing 70 mph on hwy 78. Could have been fatal. Since this was a known issue and since it appears that their service repair failed to resolve problem - I personally feel the vehicle should be recalled before a fatal accident occurs. At 70 mph vehichle just lost all power. Had I been in a major metropolitan area, I may not have been so lucky.
