2 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 05/14/2014

Chrysler vehicles, Dodge Magnum, Dodge charger and Chrysler 300 have an issue that causes the shifter to get stuck in park, and will not shift. This leaves many drivers stranded causes them to need towing assistance to have the vehicle moved. I was stuck and needed a tow and the tow truck driver informed me that mine was the sixth one he had done that day. My insurance company informed me that this was a very common problem with the Chrysler vehicles. The issue happens to many vehicles most of which were not covered under chryslers k39 recall. Chrysler did some maneuvering to get out of covering all the cars affected with the issue. The issue is for a faulty part in the shifter assembly of cars from 2005-2007. They got out of covering all of the cars by narrowing the recall to specific vehicles made in a specific location instead of covering all vehicles with the faulty part. Kind of like committing fraud. They seem to be able to get away with it because there are no child safety or death related issues.

5 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/09/2009

My 2005 Dodge Magnum's gear shift was stuck in park and would not allow me to operate the vehicle leaving us stranded away from home. It cost over $600 to repair. A check of the internet shows this has happened to many others and thus is probably a manufacturing defect that Dodge should correct.

6 Transmission Stuck In Gear problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/20/2006

The vehicle surges between 1500-3500 rpm's and sometimes at idle. The problem comes and goes and is often accompanied by problems with the transmission shifting. Somethimes at a stop the trans will not down shift and when I accelerate again it is stuck in a high gear which has many times caused me to be put in danger while pulling into traffic, the car won't accelerate to speed properly. It is unerving to never know if it will drive properly without shifting or surging problems. It has been doing this for 15,000 miles and I have taken it inot the dealer 6-7 times and they still having fixed anything, because there is no code coming up for them.
