5 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2002 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 08/04/2012

At approximately 3:00 a. M. On a Saturday the 4th of August I was involved in a rollover car accident in which I swerved to avoid a medium dog/coyote and my vehicle hit the ditch and rolled. My front airbags didn't deploy and I had to be transported by ambulance to the nearest hospital. I suffered a head injury as well as numerous body impact injuries from the crash. According to the report from the impound my engine was found 40 feet from my vehicle. My first concern was of course my airbags and why they failed to deploy.

6 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 12/05/2011

My 2005 Dodge Neon, began accelerating all by it self. I was not giving it gas and applying the brakes. I pulled into my driveway, it kept going, I went through my garage door. I tried to put the car in park, but the garage door slowed me down, and I then put the car in park. I read on line this has happened to hundreds of people. I tried to change the throttle sensor, that did not work. My next step is to change the oxygen sensor. I hope that works. I have been without a car for 1 week now, because I am scared to death to drive it again. It happened one other time prior to running into the garage. It just seems like there should be some type of recall as this is very dangerous. I was lucky it was my garage door instead of a human being. It cost me 800 to replace the garage door, and that wasa friend giving me an incredible deal. You cannot replace a human life. Please have Dodge Neon give a solution to fix this problem, and warn people about it. Arizona December 26th, 2011.

7 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2005 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 07/23/2010

About 2 years ago my 2005 Dodge Neon was not idling properly and shortly thereafter would not start. I brought my car to a mechanic and had a tune up and they had to replace a spark plug. Last week my car began acting in the same manner however this time began vibrating. I brought my car again to the same mechanic. He replaced the brake shoes and told me I needed engine mounts. When I went onto the internet to research the cost of these parts I came across numerous similar complaints. One site listed this as a major problem with the 2005 Dodge Neon and people have written they have had collisions due to this problem. Also noted was the problem keeps returning and costs the owners alot of money. I feel this should be looked at seriously.

14 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2003 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 03/17/2007

Car had a problem with a fuel sensor, we had it replaced. Couple of weeks later a fuel cam went out. We had it replaced. We took the car home and next morning it had oil all over the place. Towed it to the shop and they said they didn't work on that side of the car. They stated I had a major head casket problem. It started out at $800, then they kept finding more problems with the head. The grommets needed replaced and a lot more parts. Finally they stated they had to replace the whole head. It started at $800 then went to $1100 then $1800 then $2100. By the time they where done it was up to $2,600. They gave me a technical bulletin stating that Chrysler knew about these problems and won't do anything to fix the problem. These vehicles are know to be throw away cars built to replace over and over. Wish I had known before I brought it.

21 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 2001 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 08/15/2003

I bought my Neon in may of 2001 and in Feb. 2002 I had a bad water leak. I took it in several times and they would say it was fixed, but no it was not. I finally told them I want my carpet replaced when they do get it fixed. I fought with them round & round, till they finally said they would. I said do not put it in until we know for sure it was fixed. They said it was, put new carpet in and sure enough it leaked again and the new carpet was soaked and stinky, like the original. They finally got the leak fixed after 6 months, but they sure did not offer to replace carpet again. This dealer was very rude. I also had to have my headlights replaced, due to water leak. My cd player broke twice and had to be replaced, my sunroof had to be replaced. I went to a different Dodge dealer, due to the rudeness I would receive. In the past month my car has been in twice, once it would not start and had to be towed to the dealer, the dealer said it was the battery, my husband replaced the battery and it ran ok for a couple of days and the engine started to miss again/felt like it was going to die while driving. I took it in again and they tell me my spark plugs needed to be changed and was going to charge me $50. 00 for looking at it and I argued with the guy I told him I will not pay a dime. He basically threw the paperwork down and walked away. Now I have been to 2 dealers and have got nothing but treated like crap. My husband did replace the plugs and it ran ok for 1 1/2 weeks , now I don?t know where to go, and my car sounds like it is going to die while im driving or accelerating. I feel like I bought a new car to not have to deal with this kind of thing. Im about ready to give up and just trade the car in, but then I don?t want to give up. When my car first had those leaks, I even called to corp. Office of Dodge and was treated the same. Where do I turn to. And is my car going to have engine problems now?.

22 Engine And Engine Cooling problem of the 1998 Dodge Neon

Failure Date: 07/15/2003

I am in the process of compiling all information on the repairs we have done on the Neon. I have decided to wait until I have all the facts, from the first time we had the air conditioning repaired to the recent $900+ repair of the computer and the two-week-old problem with the sheets of peeling paint. The unbelievable paint peeling is inexcusable and was also the last straw. I will be filing a lengthy complaint shortly.
