The side mirrors failed to stay in the position in which they were set in. . Both side mirrors folded against the doors which was caused by various wind currents at various speeds, which made it difficult to see when attempting to change lanes.

The side view mirrors fell off.

The drivers side mirror came lose on the freeway. I had to go to the dealer to fix it. I think Dodge should recall the mirrors, because this could cause a major accident. This could also cause damage to the truck, posable even breaking the glass out of the door or windshield! this would most likely result in a deadly car accident. If it wasn't a power mirror the cords wouldn't have stopped it, and instead of the it just dangling there it would become a projectile which could kill a pedestrian! or damage another car. The problem is so small that Dodge could fix the problem easily and cost affectively, and avoid all the bad press.

Drivers side external rearview mirror base "snapped". It now swivel's loosely when driving preventing normal/safe usage.

Both outer mirrors snapped and swing un restrained. Unable to safely change lanes. The more recent failure was while towing a trailer with children in the vehicle.

Rear view mirror is not reliable enough to help consumer to back up or change lanes. Consumer has already hit a tree, and almost hit other vehicles when changing lanes. Consumer has contacted emissons control department, and they said they have received numerous complaints on same issue. Objects in rear mirror are closer than they appear.

Side mirror motions back and forth without prior warning. Dealership is aware of problem.

I own a 1997 Dodge Ram truck and the drivers and passengers outside mirror will not hold into position (they swing in towards the door glass while driving). I contacted the Dodge dealer in my area and they confirmed that there is a concern with the mirrors, in fact they told me that Dodge redesigned the mirrors for that reason. The replacement mirrors are the old design and they told me that in a matter of time the new ones will do the same thing. Because this is a safety matter I would hope that the mirrors could be retrofit to the new style or a permanent fix be made.

While driving at highway speeds driver's and passenger's manual mirrors moves inward constantly which obstructed the rear view to the driver . This may cause a crash.

Side mirrors fold back at highway speeds, impossible to keep adjusted.

Both sideview mirrors collapse inward when traveling at 60mph.

Rearview mirrors are loose and fold in when driving 55 mph. Dealer and manufacturer have been notified.

Driver's side rear view mirror fell off.

Rear view mirrors mounted on both doors of vehicle failed to remain in one position and "flopped in wind". Dealership was unwilling to assist consumer in repair of this problem.

When driving the truck the driver's outside mirror on the door shakes, causing a blur in the mirror when trying to look out of it. Has taken to the dealer, but they can't correct the problem.

When traveling at speeds higher than 55, the two rearview mirrors on both sides of vehicle will gradually turn inward and consumer can't see whats behind him. Also, wind moves windows inward.

Driver's side rearview mirror replaced several times due to vibration, however still continues to vibrate.

Both outside mirrors failed. The spring loaded mechanism that holds the mirrors in place failed. I contacted the dealership to order the parts and learned they are on backorder and will be about two weeks to get replacements. I also contacted the Chrysler customer service number and was told they had no idea if any changes were being made to the part or not. If they replace these mirrors with the same thing they will malfunction again. This is a large truck, you need outside mirrors to drive it. You need the mirrors to see the vehicles beside you. A recall should be done to ensure that the proper changes are made to these components. I was told there were 1500 of these mirrors on order, so evidently I am not the only one with this problem.

Rearview side mirrors vibrate. Took to dealer ,and dealer iwas aware of problem, but didn't have remedy. Please add VIN.

Consumer states when the vehicle is being driven on the highway, the side view mirrors turn inward facing the cab of the vehicle, and will not remain in the set position. When this problem occurrs the driver can not determine the distance of on coming traffic and can not safely change lanes.

While traveling at highway speed driver's side mirror would fold in, causing poor visibility when changing lanes. Please provide further information.

The outside passenger mirror freely goes back and forth while driving, the dealer stated to repair this, a kit needed to be ordered, the consumer feels this is a safety defect and the dealer should fix the problem.

When driving at speeds of 40 to 45mph exterior mirrors started to fold inward. Dealer said there was no solution.

Whenever driving exterior mirrors would turn inward. Driver would need to use interior mirrors to see other vehicles on side. Took to dealership & mechanic refused to correct problem due to vehicle being over 35,000 miles.

While having vehicle serviced at dealer technician stated that consumer would have to wait two weeks to get recall repairs done for side view mirror replacement while vehicle was missing mirror.
