Defogger Problems of Dodge Ram 1500 - part 2

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving approximately 30 mph she turned on the air conditioner and noticed that there was a minimal amount of air coming out of the vents. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer where she was informed that a flap within the air vents was blocking the air flow. The vehicle was not repaired and the failure continued to occur. The failure mileage was 80,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the h back blend air door failed. The contact was no longer able to control the air flow to the windshield. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The dealer advised that the replacement h back blend air door was not covered under the vehicle warranty. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 42,000 and the current mileage was 50,000.

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the heating and air conditioning system has malfunctioned. The blend door broke that the controls the air flow. The dealer informed the contact that there was not a problem with the case door and that the manufacturer will not be responsible for the repairs. The contact is concerned about the safety risks since this the case door controls the defroster and is impossible for the contact to see out of the windows when the defroster malfunctions. Ac/heat as you are driving and the ac is on heat comes out at the same time. System doesn't know whether is on ac/heat. Now a loud ticking sound has come on. This has happen since the vehicle was bought new.

Blend door failure (hvac) on 2006 Dodge ram. Renders the hvac systems in-op, no air flow through the ducts (no heat, no defogging, no a/c). This a design issue that has plagued Dodge for numerous years in the rams series of trucks. Chyrsler has chosen not to correct this is an perform a recall. Repair is not covered under warranty and is quite expensive, $800-$2000 depending on local labor rates.

My 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 truck has an issue with the air selector. I cannot defrost my windshield or warm the floor. It is broken with air blowing out of the vents to my face. My vehicle was fixed once before for the same problem. There are also many forums or posts in reference to the problem. Dodge has made a poor design which is faulty and expensive to fix. I believe there should be a countrywide recall to fix the problem and upgrade the plastic doors Dodge uses for the heat/ a/c system.

The consumer was unable to get the windows to remain defrosted. This caused poor visibility and unsafe driving conditions. The dealer indicated that nothing could be done to correct the problem.

Vehicle's windows and windshield developed frost while driving in inclement weather. Frost still existed when defroster/defogger system was engaged. This reduced the driver's visibility. Manufacturer indicated to the dealership that this was due to a problem with the circulation system that could not be corrected.

Consumer stated that he received a recall safety letter for the hvac blower harness. Dealer will disconnect the remote starter, but will charge some amount of $ to reconnect.

Part just passed warranty mileage. No safety defect listed.

Manufacturer was aware, but did not notify consumers of possibility of bacteria and fungi growth in ac/heating system causing health concerns for the occupents of the vehicle because of fungi and mold spores emitted through the ac system. Over the last few years have had extraoridnary problems with sinus infections caused by mold spores and fungi spores being emitted without my knowledge through the ventilation system of the vehicle. Manufacturer was aware of condition, and had issued technical service bulletins about the problem, but did not notify consumers putting their/my health at risk.
