Dodge Ram 1500 owners have reported 40 problems related to front suspension hub (under the suspension category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 truck has 26,000 miles on it. We have been told by a mechanic's shop that the front hub bearings are in dire need of being replaced. I see that 2006 models have been recalled by Dodge for the same problem. I do not think that 26,000 miles warrants something of this nature failing and it seems apparent that this is a manufacturer's defect.

Front wheel hub assembly for a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 just bought the truck and the first day I drive it, I find out the hub was bad and the dealer said it was a part not under warranty.

Wheel hub assembly going out. Own the truck for since 91,000 miles and had to replace the front rt hub assembly 4 times. It seams to be going out around 10,000 to 12,000 miles. Prior to this one last one was done on 2/04 ,6/03 & 10/02 mileage now 141,000 w/ new engine that also went . Spun a bearing. I need to know if there are many of these hub assemblys going bad on 1997 rams 5. 9 engine.

Both front hub bearings were completely shot on my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500. The truck has only 51,000 with no off road use. There should be no reason to replace sealed hub bearing after only 51,000 miles. Continued use could have resulted in the front wheels locking up with a resulting accident.
