I called my local Dodge dealer, brown motors in petoskey mi. , a couple of weeks ago to have a couple of uncompleted recalls performed. I took my truck in to the dealer today and was notified later that they could not perform the recall and it would cost me nearly $1700 to perform the recall, mostly pertaining to the fuel bracket recall. I find this very odd as it would make sense that all related parts that have to be removed to perform this safety recall should be part of the recall including any said labor costs. My particular vehicle current has one of the fuel tank straps that has come loose and now I am force to drive that way until I can get this very hazardous ossue resolved.

I own a 2007 Ram 1500 that spits fuel back out and is not safe to the person filling it. It also creates a hazard with fuel on the ground. Dodge claims it was resolved in 2016 when I first had the problem. They are now unwilling to resolve their own repair for the same problem. Fuel spit-back through the filler neck has been a longstanding problem in several Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep models, caused by the inlet check valve (icv) mounted in the fuel tank. Despite some limited recalls and at least one extended lifetime warranty, this defect, which first surfaced in 2001, continues to plague a number of models. Tens of thousands of vehicles are outside of any campaign, forcing owners to pay for a repair that requires replacement of the entire tank assembly. Nhtsa 10056513 TSB wb-d-14-23 mopar: on some pick up trucks, an extended warranty has been issued on fuel tank inlet check valve. Model 2007-2008 Ram 1500. Issued on 9/9/2014 I also located information on an x49 recall for other vehicles.

Vehicle stalls after filling up gas tank. After you fill up and start driving at low speeds or at a stop sign or red light (idleing) the vehicle will stall out and would restart after putting in neutral and starting. Dangerous if driving slowly into a turn where you loose your power steering.
While driving I noticed a whining noise coming from under the vehicle. Upon inspection I saw the strap that holds the front of the gas tank had come loose and gas tank was falling off the truck. One side of the strap was still attached and rubbing against the drive shaft (causing the whine). The side of the strap toward the outside of the vehicle had pulled completely free at the anchor point on the frame. The anchor point was completely rusted and rotted requiring serious metal repair to reattach the strap and allow the vehicle to be driven safely again.

I heard a noise while traveling as if something had broke underneath the vehicle. I pulled over and looked underneath and could see the front fuel tank mounting strap had disconnected and the forward part of the fuel tank was hanging down only being held by the rear fuel tank mounting strap. Upon closer inspection I found that the front fuel tank mounting strap was intact but the its frame attachment point had rotted through.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving approximately 35 mph, the front fuel tank strap loosened causing the fuel tank to partially detach from the vehicle. The vehicle was maneuvered to the side of the road, where the fuel tank was temporarily reconnected to the vehicle with a nylon strap. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed that the fuel tank frame rail was completely corroded. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 57,200.
While filling the vehicle at several different gas stations, the gas pump fails to shut off when full and fuel is sprayed back at me and down the side of my truck. This typically results in a fair amount of fuel on the ground as well causing an obviously hazardous condition. An attendant at one of the gas stations indicated that he sees this problem frequently in Dodge vehicles and his personal vehicle needed the repair which was a new fuel tank and neck.
Severe shaking at highways speed, appeared to be a wheel or engine problem so parked the vehicle and made appointment to dealer, revealed that the one strap holding the fuel tank was off and the other was so loose as to make the tank erratically with a chance of falling off. Incredible that a person spends almost $60,000 and you get a vehicle which can potentially cfreate a hazard such as this! what else is coming?.

Driving up a steep mountain highway when truck lurched violently twice and came to a complete stop in the middle of a switchback corner with a horrible dragging sound and smoke everywhere. The truck would not go forward or backward. Oil and driveline parts were all over the highway. Dented the gas tank (possibly put a hole in the gas tank), we were told the gas tank was damaged and needed replaced. The rear-end pinion nut came loose and locked up the rear end causing the driveline to fall out onto the highway, tore a hole in the transfer case and damaged the gas tank. We were simply lucky there were other motorists on same highway that could stop and help us avoid a major collision on the steep, blind corner/on the mountain highway. Dodge is giving us the "run around" on getting this fixed. They finally repaired the truck, putting the same, but new faulty part that is in the middle of a recall process, into our truck and wanting us to be happy with it. We are not. We do not feel safe driving the truck with the same faulty part in the pickup. Dodge has no "fix" for us. They want us to drive our pickup with the recalled part until they come up with a fixed part. We are not willing to do this. What are our options?.

I purchased this truck used a few months ago and gas splashes out of the filler tube if you try to fill up the tank, after the gas pump nozzle clicks off, a considerable amount of gas comes back out, I first thought it was a nozzle problem at the pump but realized it was an issue with the truck after trying several different gas stations.

I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 when I get gas and fill up until the pump clicks (I do not top off tank) then upon pulling out of the gas station my truck stalls. If I stop for a red light truck stalls again and it continues to stall every now and then at low speeds, at a complete stop, when braking, slowing down, or at idle and last untill I run some gas out of it (about 10 mikes or so). Vehicle will start right up with no problem but battery gauge takes a few seconds to rise to operating levels. Transmission also feels like it wants to slip at time of stall. I took it to the dealership but because a code was not thrown it is my issue to deal with (have to drop the gas tank and replace a sensor in the overflow tube $500 plus dollars- which I do not just have lying around). I have avoided topping off at the pump and have to watch the amount of gallons of fuel I put in order not to have the same situation occur again. This is not a valid fix in my opinion. I can see the situation exists with other owners of the same year of my vehicle as well. Why is this not being addressed?!?! this is ridiculous and not to mention very frustrating and dangerous. I have my 3 children in the car with me most of the time and I cringe every time it happens just praying we donot get hit.
