Dash is cracking in several places.
The dash has several cracks in it.
Dashboard started to crack a few months ago, just hairline cracks at first. Now there are long cracks everywhere & the dashboard may fall in & disrupt whatever electric circuits are underneath. Local Dodge dealer wouldn't take action unless I paid for it. He said "don't use armourall" which I don't. Dodge customer assistance was no help either. There appears to be something wrong with the materials used to manufacture the dashboard. The cracks continue to expand. Afraid to drive it!.

I have a 2000 Dodge Ram 2500 with the dashboard cracking and large sections falling out. This could create flying shards of sharp plastic should I be in an accident.
Dash was cracked up and a piece flew out and got hit in face.
The dash on my 2001 ram is cracking up now pieces are starting to fall off I believe this is a safety issue. Broken parts can damage wiring and become projectiles in a collision.
2001 Dodge Ram 2500 dashboard cracked in so many places that it caved in and affected the high/lo beam switch. I turned the high beam switch on and the headlights went completely off. I immediately pulled over and somehow got the lo beams back on. This is a very dangerous situation that can put innocent lives in grave danger. Please do something to resolve this issue before anything bad happens.
Cracked dash.
I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. Recently the dash cracked for no apparent reason. I am concerned that the integrity of the dash is now compromised. In the event of a collision I fear that the dash will now turn into little projectiles causing more damage to my occupants.
Dash and bezel are cracking. Pieces are falling into it. What problems will this cause. Heater core is leaking spilling coolant onto cab carpet and pad. Was told this model truck has no air intake filter to stop leaves and other trash from entering the system then rotting in the heater core box creating mold which corrodes the core.
Cracked dash panel.
Dash is cracking in four different locations and pieces are beginning to fall inside. I'm afraid that this will lead to electrical shorts or interfer with the airbag operation. Dodge will do nothing except install new dash for $900.

Dash top cracked and broke into dozens of pieces falling into dash. The dash top is no longer usable and must be replaced at a cost of over a $1000. The loose parts could cause wiring to be damaged and other parts not to function, defrost vents are not being held in place. The new factory part will be no better after the sun and heat get to it! Dodge need to be responsible an replace the part with a better part!.
This is my second complaint regarding dash board. The dash started cracking with just 30,000 miles on truck, when I put in compliant to NHTSA. Now 109,000 the electrical, air bags, computer harness wiring are exposed with a intermittent stalling and a guessing game from authorized Dodge dealers as to what might be the issues. "undetermined electrical shorts from cracked dash a possibility" "abs service light stays on, also "undetermined by dealer", "can't track code" "don't drive as airbag might deploy because dash has dash debris from cracks" plus hearing "refuse to service unless replace the dashboard" all these quotes when trying to take to get the truck fixed. Main computer harness intermittent "no bus" can't find shorts! stalls out on freeway. The glove box even hangs on only one side. Unsafe if airbags deploy. Splintering of remains chards of faulty dashboard plastic, stall on fast lane of 14 freeway in CA had to coast to right side with no power steering lucky the brakes worked and the traffic was light. Short in wire due to exposed dash board.
1999 Dodge Ram 2500: the complete dash assembly is cracking and flaking into pieces along the top cover from left to right and from the cluster to the windshield. Features are cracking along the lower section of dash, also, from the left to the right side. This will soon effect the structural housing area around the right side srs airbag mounting. I'm concerned about the stability of the srs airbag deployment functioning properly in the event of deployment. There is also the possibility of the wiring harness being damaged or failing due to sharp edges of the plastic in the dash assembly. If the sharp edges cut the wiring and the cut wire edges rub together, this will cause a premature deployment of the srs airbag. There is also a concern of the main dash harness being damaged from sharp edges and causing the possibility of a short between voltage and ground circuits touching causing excessive heating of shorted circuits and causing fire in the brittle plastic areas.
I have a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 quad cab 4x4, and in July 2009, the dash cracked, with what I am left to guess is due to sunlight destroying on the plastic Chrysler uses to make the dash. I have called several regional dealers about the cost of replacing the dash, with the lowest cost as a consumer at $829. 65 I was cleaning the dashboard July 2010, I'll typically clean my truck every 2-3 weeks, and as I wiped off the dash, one of the sharp edges on the dash cut the palm of my hand. This was not careless user error, I believe this is a manufacturer defect due to poor material choice for constructing a dash. I do keep the dash covered with a sun shield in parking lots where the sun is intense, and I have window tinting on the side and rear windows, and a strip on the top of the windshield, in hopes of preventing further damage. For the past year I have had the dash crack, it has caused more cracks, causing unsightly damage and a cut on the hand.

My dashboard had a small crack that has turned in to a massive sinkhole. My fear is possible life threatening injury/ permanent disability to myself or a passenger as a result of passenger side airbag deployment that would cause the remaining pieces of plastic to become projectiles. The dealer has told me that no recall has been issued so they will not take any corrective action.
1999 Dodge truck dashboard is cracking, and caving in. Leaving large sharp edges.
Dashboard cracking into pieces. From the amount of complaints about this same problem on Dodge vehicles I believe it is from faulty materials used in manufacturing.

The dash on my 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup has started cracking,as has thousand of other Dodge pickups, which when the condition worsens to where the vehicle is dangerous to the occupants. I along with thousands of other Dodge pickup owners would like for someone to be able to force the Chrysler corp. To make recall on all affected vehicles notably year models 2000-2004. Dealers want up to $1,500. 00 to repair then in a few years the new dash starts cracking. Please help Dodge truck owners!.
I have a 2003 Dodge diesel the dashboard has 4 large cracks, from one crack to another it's a matter of time before this piece flies out and hits passengers. I think this is a safety issue and Dodge should consider it as being a recall. The least jerk or vibration could cause serious safety hazards. Even while cleaning the dash you have to be careful or you could get cut by the sharp cracks. Hope Dodge will take care of complaints and stand by their customers, if not, I will not buy another Dodge product!.
Dash cracked for no reason what so ever. Started with small crack passenger side, now extends up to windshield and air vent register has fallen out because there is nothing there to freakn hold it in place and everybody wants to act this is acceptable equipment failure. You guys need to do the right thing and issue a recall to have these dashes fixed. You borrow money from the government for bailouts while paying yourselves multimillion dollar salaries and putting the screws to the consumer. How do you sleep at night?.
The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. While attempting to use the heating system in the vehicle, the contact noticed that the switch which controlled the flow of the air would not function. My 2003 Dodge Ram 2500 has a hole in its dashboard along with huge cracks in it. I have sent emails to Dodge but they tell me its not a problem of theirs. How can so many Dodges with the same problem not be a problem of daimler Chrysler???.
Dash cracked on my 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. Smaller cracks are branching off of the large one.
