I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. In 2003, I noticed parts of the dash, starting to break apart. In 2004, I had a major head on collision, and the airbag, did not deploy. The damage was extensive, with bent frame. The damage was $17,000 in 2004. I was told by the Chrysler dealership, that did the repairs, that they could not check the condition of the airbag wiring, because the dashboard was broken. I wonder how many others out there, that have the same issue, with the dashboard, and don't have a working airbag. The other issue I have, is the seatbelt tensioner, has caused the seatbelt, to get chewed up. The belt, is now, no more than an inch wide.

After driving in heavy rain. During the following day started having electrical issues the parking lights would stay on even when the switch was turned off the driver's side headlight would also come on. And the parking lights would either turn off or flash when the high beams were turned on this happened with front and back parking lights the only way to fully get them to stay off was to pull the relay or disconnect the battery. The problem is with the power distribution center and front control module the poor design allows them to corrode damaging the copper tracing and causing shorts in the system this is a common problem as there are several online forums dedicated to these problems with a lot of people having the same issues so I'm not sure why there hasn't been a recall for this since it is a major safety problem when it affects lights, windshield wipers and several other things that could cause accidents. My brother's truck is also having sign's of the pdc and fcm being bad. And at over $1000 to replace both for a manufacturing defect it's not right that Dodge customer's should have to pay that bill. I'll be attaching a picture of another board but the damage is the same and in the same spot.

While driving the vehicle suddenly lost engine power and turned off. When this happened the steering column locked. It did not just loose power steering. The column itself entirely locked up. At this point the vehicle had no steering and limited breaking and went off the road. Thankfully it just went into a ditch and no damage was done. The vehicle turned right back on. The next day I recreated the problem on some friends property. I gave the keys in the ignition a small tug and the engine would stop and the steering column would lock. The ignition never rotated out of the on position and the key remained in the ignition. I recreated this probably 5 times and it did the same thing every time. I then brought it to the dealer but they didn't have the parts to repair it so I didn't have them look at it. I had to use the vehicle sooner then they could repair it to pull a camper about 1200 miles. I diagnosed the problem to be the ignition switch. I replaced the switch myself and the vehicle has not had the same problem since. I have given the keys in the ignition the same kind of tug and it is no longer a problem. I do have the switch available for inspection. I personally can totally understand the engine turning off due to an ignition switch failure but I believe the actual steering column locking is unacceptable.
This has happened to me two times in 2014 and this has happened to me twice in 2014 and oct/09/21 the windshield washer starts spraying all of a sudden blinding me then was able to get wiper to work. Windows wouldnt go down so I could see out. Luck I was going about 25 miles an hour. I was about to gett on interstate going about 70 mph. That would have been bad . Then the pickup died and I was able to pull over off the road with no power steering or brakes. I got out and disctmpionteed the battery to stop horn and windowwasher and wiper and the engine kept trying to star all the while smoke was coming from the tpmi fuse box.

The room fcm power distribution module corrodes and causes electrical problems. Headlights can go out while driving, taillights, break lights etc. There is many complaints on the web about this issue and Dodge has not fixed the problem. I was driving at night and my headlights went completely out. Luckily I was able to avoid any accident and come to a controlled stop. If I had been on a curve I would have lost sight of the road. This is a well known issue among Dodge trucks. This is a safety recall as it can cause an accident and death.

I was driving on I-75 @70mph, a loud bang happened, truck shut off, I guided it off the road. I had wires hanging I looked further and seen the front drive shaft blew apart. My mechanic said it had locked up. The transfer case, transmission, floor board of the truck was also all damaged. Also said I was lucky that the truck did not cause a serious accident. This truck is a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 hd. Well taken care of. No given reason why this happened. My mechanic said he has seen this many times in the Dodge trucks that the front drive shaft blows apart. Total damages will be the cost of $8,000-$10,000.

I was on a on-ramp getting up to hey speed. Hit a little bump where the old and new asphalt join and the rear started to fishtail to the left and started to spin out hot that k-rail then went over it roiling about 30 feet from it. The air bags did not deploy nor did the seat belt lock. It was a bit foggy and the road surface was wet.
Airbag light came on, a/c & seat heaters won't work. Cold start in morning, airbag light goes off, a/c works & seat heaters ok. Turn engine off, next start of engine, airbag light on, no a/c or seat heaters until next morning. First time this incident occurred vehicle was stationary, in store parking lot. Airbag light on during trip home. Airbag inoperable when light is on.
Inital problem, fuse box fire - 2020 repeated problem again in 2020, 2021, 2023.
The brake lights come on themselves when the truck is completely off. It's intermittent however it does it frequently enough to drain the battery. The engine light comes on as well however it does not provide a code to determine the cause of the issue.
Brake light and turn signals do not work even after replacing bulbs, bulb sockets and multifunction turn signal switch.
In motion the blinkers would turn on without me touching the switch. When I applied the left blinker the right one would turn on and vice versa. Finally the flashers turned on and I couldn't turn off. It started malfunctioning while I was driving down the highway at 60mph.
Death wobbles: I have replaced upper and lower ball joints with problem solvers. Replaced the tie rods and ends. Replaced the stabilizer shock, replaced the track bar rubber bushings, replaced the otter universal joints on the aam 9. 50 14 bolt electric hubs. New shocks all around. Drove to salt lake city and the death wobbles came back have to pull off the hwy and come to a stop while it is shaking the truck apart. 15 times from idaho. . This is a major safety problem the steering box has problems and it is not listed under any recalls. New alignment also. New transmission, at 163,000 boiled over onto the turbo, the dipstick never fit in the tube and fluid caused the truck to catch fire. 3 years ago.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the front driver's side door would not unlock for the driver to enter the vehicle. The electronic remote lock was not functioning. All lights (headlights, taillights, etc. ) come on while vehicle turned off and turn off while vehicle is running. Also, windshield wipers and washers run all the time and can not be turned off. Drains battery while not running, then will not start. Factory trained mechanic says it is a "bad tipm" (totally integrated power module), and the dealership can not order a new tipm as Dodge does not make these anymore (vehicle is 12 years old). My vehicle is practically useless and now valueless, as I can not get needed parts to repair. My experience has been that aftermarket parts (including fan clutch for this vehicle) does not work well and end up needing replacement almost as soon as repairs are done. This really sucks that an american auto manufacturer can fail to make parts available for 12 year old vehicles. I guess they need to sell a new one that bad! not another Dodge, for sure.
Wipers stopped working while driving down the highway in a snow storm.
The trailer connector on my truck has never been used by me so I didnt know it didnt work. I now have a travel trailer but nothing works but the driver side signal. Nothing else. I checked the connector and there is no current coming out of it except for the left signal. I see there was a recall but cant find any info. Cant take it anywhere without lights!!! have to go out of town with it but cant until its working. Help please.
The turn signal switch constantly needs to be replaced because of a faulty contact plate that causes it to over heat. When this happens the turn signal works in the opposite direction you signal without warning. This is a huge safety concern and has caused traffic accidents from what I have found researching the problem. My truck tends to have the problem more frequently on cold mornings and after a rain.
I purchased this truck a year and a half ago, and my tipm has gone bad. No rear lights at night. Have gone to dealership and the part is on national back order, and has been for some time. This is a common problem for this truck is what I've been told. It should be recalled by Dodge.
The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Ram 2500. While operating the vehicle, both the high beam and low beam headlights would not illuminate. Also, the rear driver's side window would not operate due to damaged electrical wires located in the driver side door panel. The contact indicated that the wires became damaged by opening and closing the doors. In addition, while at a stop light, the vehicle momentarily experienced unintended acceleration. The cause of the failures was not diagnosed. The vehicle was not repaired. The local dealer (jerry wood Dodge in salisbury, nc) and the manufacturer were notified of the failures. The failure mileage was 195,000.
Blinkers will turn on in opposite direction of what lever is applied. Right turn signal comes on when you turn lever to left turn. Windshield wipers run intermittently when on.
Electrical fire in dash. My husband was driving and smelt something burning. As he went to pull over flames started shooting out the vents. Truck is a total loss per insurance.
Beginning to have problems with interior lighting short cycling, shutting off early. Suspect the tipm is going out.
Driving at any time any conditions turning or strait roads the ect light comes on. When this happens you loose all control of the vehicle steering and brakes included. The rpms will jump up high then drop so low the truck will die or idle really rough. Rameys can't fix it local service stations can't fix I've almost wrecked several times bc of this I've had a new throttle body installed no fix 150$ then a new bell crank assembly 400$ still no fix I've searched and called everyone who might have an idea Dodge should look into this because it's not a rare thing from what I see online.
Multiple repairs to the front end suspension of the vehicle, to the point that we are now paying for the repairs and the dealership denying they replaced the most recent track bar on the truck and blame the tires on the truck. I am really tired of running off into a ditch after hitting a bump in the road or steer to miss a pothole. Just fix the truck correctly and stop making excuses telling us it is our tires when it is a 4x4 and they cannot put more sturdy parts on the front end or take blame for the steering shaft and gear box when these have been recalled under the death wobble. Hub assembly had to be replaced on this truck as well. Trying to turn the vehicle into a parking spot and constantly having to back into a space. This death wobble has gone too far. As far as the electrical they cannot find why the dashboard keeps flickering and we keep blowing fuses or bulbs. It is really getting annoying with this truck and all the repairs which we have had to do this vehicle, and yet take responsibility for it.
My intermittent wipers fail, they stick on, or wipe randomly or even don't work at all. They will stop, turn off at any point during the wipe at any position, and sometimes wont turn off when switch is off. Doesn't matter what speed or driving style that this happens on.
Both axle joints bad. All four tie rods have "play" in them. Ball joints are worn out. Had right side tie rod end pop out while traveling down highway. 2015 rotors are heat cracked. Presently headlights are burning out after one month replacement. Presently control panel led lights for heating are out. 2009.
The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500. While making a turn, the trailer lights did not illuminate. The failure occurred without warning. The dealer diagnosed that the tipm malfunctioned and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000.
The tipm module is bad. This part controls quite a bit of electrical current to various areas of the vehicle. It stalls when stopped at a traffic light, it is not sending the brake light information to an attached trailer (left side only), gauges inside the vehicle have stopped working (to name a few of the items being affected by this control). This part can be inspected as it is currently still on the vehicle. Safety is a concern due to either not being able to move out of the roadway, and also when pulling a trailer as no one will see turn signals or brake lights on the tow vehicle as the power isn't going to the trailer lights. I was informed of the malfunction at a trailer dealership. The problems have been getting worse over the last 4 years of ownership of this vehicle. The check engine light is currently on, even though what the computer read out gave has now been repaired. There has currently been no accident that this vehicle has been involved in.
I have a 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 that has a couple issues. The latest is no left low beam. There is no fuse to change either. From my research, it appears that it is the tipm that will need to be replaced. This all happened after pulling my trailer. During that time, my abs and brake light came on and. Also, I have the notorious "death wobble. " I have spent over $4,000 on steering component repairs, which include 3 gear boxes and 2 power steering pumps in less than two years, tire rods, pitman arm, etc. I am taking my truck back to the shop tomorrow to have my ujoints replaced, all new shocks, and the abs/brake sensor replaced for $1,100. I guess my next repair will be the tipm to fix the headlight issue at what I gather to be around the $1,000 mark. When will Dodge fix these issues? the "death wobble" and tipm seem to be the most common complaint.
On June 8, 2016, my vehicle /truck was dropped off at the indicated Dodge dealership for recall work. Due to an issue with ecu due to battery change, I requested a reflash of the ecu be performed in order for vehicle to pass smog. I subsequently received a telephone call from dealership stating vehicle was ready to be picked up. Upon taking possession of the truck I was advised by phil (service tech) that reflash was preformed and additional updates were programmed into the ecu. Prior to leaving location, I was advised there were no problems encountered during the ecu reflash. On June 11, 2016, I began driving the truck per in accordance with general motors "drive cycle" procedures. Approximately 10 minutes into driving vehicle, the heating element warning indicator light illuminated in the dash while the seat belt chime sounded simultaneously. This warning light/seat belt chime continued for several cycles, each time the warning light indication lasting several minutes then going off only to should again minutes later. On June 21, 2016, I spoke to phil (autonation Dodge service tech) who explained no work had been done to identify and correct the problem since June, 16. As of the submission of this complaint, I have not received telephone call back from Dodge. I currently retain voice message fro adrian, all receipts/invoices, cellphone video of indicator light/seat belt alarm sounding, as as all call logs. Furthermore, Dodge refuses to repair a problem they caused and is refusing to look for an alternate solution to repair damage they caused.
When I turn on the left blinker, the right one flashes on my truck. Then I turn on right blinker and the left blinker flashes. Also the wipers will sometimes stop or slow down when I have my blinkers on. This is gonna cause an accident. Thank you.
The tail gate is hard to open and hard to close. I have to keep pulling on the handle to try and get the latch mechanism to work. Usually takes 5 or so try's before the tailgate will open, close or stay closed. Sometimes the tail gate falls down while moving on a highway. The 4 wheel drive light does not come one the seat falls back if you put too much pressure on it in a backwards motion.
